I am a huge fan of "firsts." They make great memories. Recently caught my first lake trout, then watched my friend catch his first vertically jigged lake trout on a collapsible backpacking spinning rod.

@@OnlyFins wasn't the first laker, but the first vertically jigged laker. When my friend pulled out that rod I was skeptical, but surprisingly it didn't put up much of a fight (of course it was a relatively small one)
