False, She agreed to take the job of being a pet sitter, its her responsibility to only take work from dogs she can handle watch and manage which is apart of the job and work responsibilities she accepted if she was not capable of stopping the dog doing damage (Which is highly unlikely only case here is eg an agressive cane corso) Then she had the resposnibility to not take the job which she took. If a dog does that there is a behavioral issue the pet sitter failed to account for or recognise.

Dogsitter. “Hmm I really need to go to the bathroom but would feel uncomfortable for the dog to be with me while I’m shitting. I will just leave him laying in the living room for 5 minutes, no big deal. 5 min later to the room is a mess.” Obviously it’s unrealistic to be with your pet or children 24/7 without a moment to yourself. You’re not endangering your pet under your care simply because you felt like using the toilet by yourself for a few minutes.
The problem is there is simply no proof. Of course the dogsitter loses the case because for all anyone knows she could have tore her living room apart deliberately to get money for a home makeover blaming the dog. There would need to have been reported complaints or people to testify that this dogsitter tricks people. That is also a possibility.
Though I’m biased to think the dog owner deliberately didn’t tell the dogsitter that she knew her dog behaves like this on a casual basis and purposely had the dogsitter care for the dog in her own home instead of the dog owners home. I believe the dog owner took advantage of the law and may have had a history of doing so and may continue to do so. That’s just my opinion. I can’t actually no what happens. The Judge simply carried out the law. I bet she personally feels the dogsitter got hoodwinked. But the law is the law. No proof. No history of repeated allegations and reports. No other witnesses or anyone else to testify. It’s what it is.

Whatever happened is unfortunate but is NOT on the owner. Because it goes
"Can you watch over my animal while I completely don't watch what it does and it can do anything?"
      "Yes"
So, as I said, unfortunate, not on the girl who's things got damaged, not on the dog owner as well. @@user-ni7td7lm1r

When you decide to bring something into your home that you've opted to take responsibility for during that time, like babysitting an animal or a child, and that animal or child causes damage, then lawfully any damage they caused is your responsibility because they were under your care when it happened. There's been many cases on JJ based on this exact scenario, where an animal or child either gets hurt or causes damage while in someone else's care (like being invited to a birthday party) and the homeowner and animal owner/parent take it to court for damage repair/vet bills/medical bills.
