I consider myself a novice quilter at best. I don’t do a lot of fancy quilts but I think I can do this. Thank you for your excellent video. I am very encouraged and excited to try this. 😊
Love your relaxing music and perfect tutorial for beginners that are looking for another choice beyond squares and both straight & diagonal quilting. I’m not a beginner and I loved your quilt!!
This is my first time watching any of your videos and I must say I am impressed. I have loads of 2 1/2” inch strips and I think I’m gonna make this but make it scrappy. Great tutorial! I love hand sewing my binding as well!
There are no Quilt Police. However, I was taught to make my seams lay flat and not allow the seams to become twisted on the back. It didn't seem to make any difference when you were quilting your quilt. I may have been worrying over nothing. I have several unfinished projects (U.F.O.) that I could not finish because of twisted seams. In some cases a twisted seam couldn't be avoided. I gave up worrying about them (and put them away in boxes until I learned how to sew them better). Your quilt has the look of an antique quilt. It's beautiful. Thank you for this video.
I see the QUILT POLICE from time to time. :) If I had to worry about it being perfect I would never make a quilt. I try to do the best I can and I am having so much fun! That is the main thing. We need to do what we love to do. I hope you grab those U.F.O projects out and dust them off and make them just how you want them. I really enjoyed your comment. I was a girl that thought she could never quilt and then I found out how to do it and it isn't as hard as some might think. That is my goal, to show that even though the viewer may think they can't do it, by watching my videos they will see that it really isn't that hard and you are going to have so much fun in the process. Thank you for taking time to write your comment. It will be one that I remember. Thanks for watching!
@arvetta Oh please please please…. Get those lovely quilt tops out and finish them. If you don’t love them when they are completed you can donate them to foster children. ***(Sometimes that quilt is the only thing they have, for them to call their very own.) I am so… About getting the job done and giving joy. I am a scrap quilter and I use everything I can to make new fabric. My friend, just to tell you, you would turn 50 shades of green if you saw the backs of those. They are my FAVORITE QUILTS. Don’t fear the small stuff! 😊 My mother used to say “ it won’t show from the road” I have to admit once again she was absolutely right! 😅
@@FrogWhizzer my kids and friends said they love them when they are not perfect and a little wonky. It shows the "handmadeness" of it they say. I have to agree. We Native Americans in fact leave mistakes on purpose because only God is perfect.
That is a beautiful project and you have demonstrated it so well. I like the clear instructions and the way you incorporated the music. This video was on my homepage this morning too and I have also subscribed!
Thank you so much! I am so glad you are a subscriber! I really love music, and I like to have that included in my videos. I appreciate you saying you liked it, because sometimes I wonder if it is a bit much. I make videos like I like to watch them. Quick and to the point! I have to keep reminding myself to SLOW IT DOWN! If you watch some of my other videos I am going fast. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
I always buy the white fabric at JoAnn Fabrics. I usually wait until they have a sale and then buy the whole bolt. I really like it too! Thanks for watching!
My video is my pattern. I really don't have an actual pattern. But you can design it anyway you want to do it. All you have to do is make as many blocks that you want the size to be. Small, medium or large! That is the best part about quilting! You are the designer! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
What's better than watching how to make a cute warm quilt on a snowy Halloween day in Minnesota. Love the soft soothing background music too
Thank you for that very nice comment! I’m so glad you liked the music. Sometimes I wonder if it was a good choice or not. Thanks for watching!

When I get a twisted seam I get my snippers and snip the fabric just shy of the seam. Then you can press it the right direction. Hope that helps.

@@sweetcountrylivinginmichiganis there a name for this star?
I’d like a printed version - I’m a visual learner lol
There probably is a name for it, but I am not sure what it is.
