  • Why does Michael Jordan hate Scottie Pippen? Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were best friends until Jordan’s Last Dance Documentary series came out. Scottie Pippen felt like Michael Jordan was portrayed as the only reason the Bulls were successful in the documentary, meanwhile other players like Scottie were made to look like his sidekicks. But what Jordan did next made Scottie even more mad, Jordan said Scottie was a selfish teammate for delaying surgery in 1997 in order to get a better contract. Scottie responded by Jordan was selfish for leaving the bulls to play baseball. Scottie also criticized how Michael treated the people around him, he said Jordan was the ultimate bully and the Bulls won in spite of him. But this last statement Scottie made it so he and Jordan would never be friends again, Scottie said Michael Jordan was a horrible basketball player and a horrible person to be around. He said LeBron James is a more complete player and nobody can compare to him. However, Michael Jordan seemed to get the last laugh because Scottie Pippen's ex-wife Larsa left Scottie to date Michael's son, Marcus Jordan.

Jordan never hated Pip. In fact, he always praised Pip and said that he couldn't have won those championships without him. Jordan went so far to say that whenever you mention him, you should mention Pip also for he is that good and important. It was Pip who got bitter after many years. It's most probably because of the many circumstances in his life but dissing Jordan is just very wrong because the man has all but praises for him.

@@trentongardner2106This is a team game. And the Bulls would have been terribly stupid to not make a team around Jordan. So obviously Jordan never won without Scottie. Otherwise the chance for them to win as many times as they did would go down with a less skilled player. Now, Jordan might have still won, but we won't know because they maximized their chances to win by pairing Jordan with skilled teammates. Playing with Jordan meant being tested by Fire. Only a few players could handle Jordan had extremely High standards for a team. If you played with Jordan, you were expected to approach his drive. If you didn't, Jordan had no respect for you.

It’s too bad that pip and jordan had a falling out. I have a feeling it was more envy motivated as Jordan went on to become a billionaire and Scotty a multimillionaire but still has to be careful with his spending. Scotty was looking after his family too and that was a big reason he was short handed with pay for many years. I understand Jordan was a hard guy to play with and be his teammate, but he wanted to win and be the best and he pushed his team hard to be the best they can be. You can see it when the teammates talk about MJ, they hated being pushed and bullied all the time, but they knew what he was trying to do for them and they respected him for it. He led by example, never told anyone to do anything he wasn’t doing himself. I hope one day they resolve their differences. Greatest NBA team in history

Jordan signed a basketball contract for a year with the Bull's cause he didn't need the big salary that year cause he made a fortune in endorsements outside of the game. N if he didn't do this the Bull's couldn't afford to keep all of the champion's together cause they didn't have enough money to sign everyone back n Jordan kept the team together. Pip outright said he and MJ were never close. If you say they were best friends, you haven't read Pip's book. It tells the story of his life and career and begins with Pip unleashing his hatred and resentment for MJ overshadowing not only him but the rest of the members of the Bulls dynasty in The Last Dance. Pip serves, most of all, to remind us that basketball is a team sport and that MJ wouldn't be MJ without any of those guys. Jordan is right to praise Pip because the former only won a single playoff game without the latter. And unlike MJ, Pip actually could have won a ring or two on his own (and with the right support) if a few things had gone differently, like a certain call in one game against the Knicks in the 1994 East semis and the Portland collapse capped by a certain alley-oop. At the end of the day, while MJ still stands out as one of the game's all-time all-around players, Pip is still a legend in his own right for his own skill set and accomplishments on and off the hardwood.

To be “great” at anything… I mean anything. You must do one thing above all others. It doesn’t matter if your a teacher, a homeless man, a physical specimen or an undersized and no real eye popping talent.
What separates His Airness and Kobe from Lebron and so many others. The reason Tom Brady ( who I respect after years and years of beatings he gave my team) is that to be truly great and to even be in the conversation for “Goat” is the fact that you must make everyone around you better. Go watch the way Labron is with his teammates when things are going bad. He points fingers and talks down to them. He feels he is so superior that he makes them feel low. Remember when that crazy JR Smith shot the ball at the wrong basket in the finals against the Warriors? Then James punched the board in the locker room. Resulting in his hand being screwed up for the rest of the finals and them never getting really close to winning another one.
Big by nature is so different than being big by desire. Forget the splitting of hairs over stats and talent. If they didn’t have those , then we wouldn’t be considering them. So obviously, we have to look at the intangibles. James like Cam Newton ( who I admire and respect both these guys) but they only know how to win. Put loss in front of them and their heart shows a weak spot. They are not the flamboyant personality that they are when they win. Jordan has always been humble and has never said he was the greatest.
How many players had Jordan’s build and features? How many had lebrons? A once in a generation phenom like James should do what he’s done. Sadly he doesn’t have a long list of teammates that will say James show that true dog mentality when everything was on the line and there’s a large list of teammates he demoralized and ridiculed.
I need to see James pass Kobe still. I do not think he’s done that yet. I’m not sure he has passed Bird. All time scorer is a wash…? Where did James play college ball? I think for a high school talent like that to go straight to NBA had him feeling entitled and a lil spoiled. Like he knows how good he is. You need not tell him.

MJ stated that "what scottie did was selfish" in the documentary, not that he is selfish. MJ was morning his father's death, he needed the time away.

I'm a die hard Bulls fan and it breaks my heart that you two have grown to hate each other and trash each other. MJ you could not have won championships without Scottie and then the last 3 without Dennis. It is a team sport and this nonsense since The Last Dance should not have gone on. I'm afraid the damage is irreparable. But you need to try to mend it. I'm 76 and it truly breaks my heart. It has tarnished all the memories I had of the best team that ever was. Countless hours of pure entertainment, basketball at it's best. All 12 team members were a delight and contributed so much to the 6 championships. Just side note, today's basketball sucks. There was nothing like defense, where today the game is run and shoot, run and shoot.

There is always some truth wrapped in lies. Of course not the one where Scottie said Jordan was a horrible player. But others have also commented on Jordan’s bullying tactics. Some will say it was his way of motivating, but others not so. Jordan would have never won any championships without the word team. But the media is to blame as well. Always puffing up one person because humanity always looks to idolize and worship something.

Pippen should have his microphone taken away from him forever. His alcohol problems, bankruptcy, and envy have destroyed his reputation entirely. He couldn't bear being in Jordan's shadow out of envy, and he hates that Jordan's son is with his ex-wife. Hatred has led him to believe he's better than Jordan or to claim that LeBron or Kobe were better. He even said Jordan isn't even in the top 10 or that he ruined basketball. Pippen is a disgrace to the sport of basketball. They should interview people who don't have hatred towards others. I always respected Pippen, knowing he was a role player with good defense like Iguodala, but I don't understand how he sees himself at the level of the top 50 players in history. It was the spotlight and the shine that Jordan brought to his career that made him historic. No one would talk about a player averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists... He seems to believe he averaged 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was never a clutch player. He was a very good role player, one of the best in history, like Iguodala, who was an NBA Finals MVP, and like many other great role players such as Worthy. He didn't even reach the level of Grant Hill, who was far superior to Pippen but got injured early on.
Pippen should be grateful to life for becoming historic and being recognized thanks to Jordan. I doubt that on another team, without training with Jordan every day, he would have won championships and improved defensively as he did. He wouldn't have been a Hall of Famer without Jordan. Hall of Famers aren't made with 16 points and 5 assists.
