Jerry Krause is the reason they broke the team up. Jordan has stated that he thought everything would get worked out and they would have kept the team together. They should have signed both Michael and Scottie to massive contracts, look at the terrible players that get massive contracts today. The Chicago Bulls would have sold out every arena in 1999 and more. Both Scottie and Michael played many more years. The money that they would have payed that team to stay togther, The NBA would have made it all back and then some. So that is why Jerry Krause is hated.

@user-kn2xd5jx6c The Bulls management to advantage of a great situation and showed the world how abusive and selfish they could be. You ride that ship until another one that's bigger and better comes along. In other words, wins the championship, or the players no longer want to play whatever comes first. I'm sure being Krause's wife , she promoted the same ideology. When they mistreated Scottie, they showed a side that exposed their desire to exploit the players no matter what they accomplished. They refused to renegotiate his contract while hiring other unproven players and paying them more. The right thing to do would have been to take good care of your nucleus. Those players hired would have signed anyway because they wanted to play for the Bulls because of Pippin and Jordan .

When someone hurts you really bad, you don't pretend you like them even when they are dead. Maybe they should just have stayed quiet instead of booing. Krause played a role in what led to this. You can see what Pippen is saying about Jordan today. If the fans turn against him in future, you'll expect them to cheer him posthumously? Isaiah Thomas is still making the press rounds trying to rewrite all the silly stuff he did in the past. Jerry Krause felt the whole success was about him forgetting that if they did not have Jordan, they wouldn't have been that great. He projected himself as more important than the players and he was proven that he wasn't since he was never able to replicate the success after disbanding the squad.

After watching parts of this video, I understand, without question, why people had a problem with Krause. Booing his wife wasn’t the way to handle it. It would’ve been better to either applaud or to do nothing and instead go to social media or other people and raise awareness about what Krause was like just like they did here with this video. At about 5:15 of the video, Krause addresses his conversation with Jordan when, ACCORDING TO KRAUSE, Jordan stated that “Krause was really looking forward to being without me and winning without me.” Then Krause states, “That’s my job. When you leave I can’t just die and roll over and leave.” ………Basically, Krause indirectly admitted that he was looking forward to Jordan leaving when he said, “That’s my job.” Don’t think for one second, that Krause would directly admit that he was anxious to get rid of Jordan. He’s NOT stupid and knows that saying that would be a public relations disaster AND confirm that Krause was the problem. Krause was trying to coverup that he was the problem so he’s not going to make it obvious. Judge Krause by his actions. By the way, there was no reason to let Jordan and Phil Jackson go because they had a couple more shots at Championships, so based on the video evidence, a lot of this WAS the fault of Kraus. This is WHY people said that Krause had a GRATING PERSONALITY…………I guess this also confirms what coach Phil Jackson was saying in his interviews about his relationship with Krause…….This being said, I don’t condone Jordan making fun of Krause and his medical issues of obesity. He looks just as bad as Krause does and maybe worse.

He wanted the public credit but he didn’t care at what cost it would take. I’m NOT giving a lecture. That being said, public credit can be good but not if you accomplish it in a sleazy way or mistreat others and abuse your power within an organization. That was Krauses’ “Kiss of death.” It’s going to be what he’s remembered for to some degree. That’s the part about fame that NO ONE WANTS. This is an unpopular opinion but Jerry "saved" MJ for going imperfect in the finals. I know the 99 season was shortened, but the Bulls were just so old. They barely beat Indiana at the time and beat an equally as old Utah Jazz team. They probably would've made it to the finals but I don't think they would've beaten a younger Spurs team that year. Jerry Krause was the reason why the greatest Chicago Bulls dynasty came to an end. He was the GM and because of his ego he destroyed the team thinking he will bring in others to win championships. The dynasty ended when MJ and Phil Jackson left the Bulls. Now, examine the Phil Jackson situation. Since the owner already admits that he was too cheap to take care of Pippen, why should I believe it wasn't also him that was too cheap to pay Jackson??? If that is true, he has shamelessly let Krause take the blame for the team falling apart this entire time. And it means he is the POS, not Krause.

Charles doesn't have enough of a dog in the fight to tell Mike, Scottie and Rodman what they "should've" done regarding a man that tried to play them like puppets for the sake of his own ego. If Charles Oakley passed and Chuck didn't go to the funeral, what if Mike got on TV and told him he should've buried the hatchet and gone to console Oakley's wife? Right.

Jordan doesn't respect everyone who doesn't back down. They bumped heads both on principle, they both felt belittled, Krause probably grew up as the underdog runt of sports so it affected him more deeply. I believe he had a football mentality, believed in his work and that he could win with a different cast. Basketball players know inherently basketball is entirely different from baseball and football, the best players are 1 of 1s, that fundamental difference may as well be equal to the distance between heaven and hell. Scottie got himself into his own mess and Krause was collateral damage on that bus during the last dance. You can't emasculate or bully your boss and expect things to not fall apart.

He also said ORGANIZATIONS WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS NOT PLAYERS. That always irked MJ. Bulls fans have long memories. Krause couldn't wait to break up that team.He couldn't wait to build aroung Kukoc. What makes this worse is that we had to watch Phil win 5 more rings with the Lakers while we endured coaches like Tim Floyd, Cartwright, and Vinnie Del Negro. It was painful to watch. I knew MJ would not attend because he holds a grudge against the Bulls organization. I'm from Chicago and a Bulls fan too, and that display of fan conduct was despicable. I praise Stacy King (and others) for publicly scolding fans’ behavior. This isn't Philadelphia where they're all meatballs and everyone expects it. Look, there's no question Jerry Krause's ego had an effect towards the breakup of the dynasty, with poor Tim Floyd caught in the middle. But make no mistake about it, MJ, Pippen and the "Zen Master," also had a monumental effect on the breakup of this team too. It takes two sides to tango and the entire lot of them all need to look in a mirror. Jerry Krause was horribly treated by the team, mostly from His Airness, the only player Jerry Krause was NOT responsible for obtaining during all those great years. I can't tell you how many times in the early years MJ always wanted a team around him instead of that band of coke heads. Well, MJ got what he asked for, didn't he? The Bulls began to be successful, weren't they? Now I'm a big fan of the GOAT. He was the most incredible basketball player I have EVER seen, and I'm old. I've seen a great deal of incredible players. Say what one wants about MJ's insane athletic ability, skill set and drive, but MJ also had excessively THIN SKIN too. After all, this entire war between MJ and Krause all started with a (albeit not a very strategically diplomatic) statement that "Organizations win Championships" from Krause. Regardless of who played, it is actually a fair and honest statement. Probably should have added the word "too" at the end of that statement, but he didn't. But to base so much dislike, no-HATE, on ONE poorly phrased statement? Really? To HATE a man for something so miniscule? Not mature at all. Ask Charles Barkley about His Airness' thin skin. MJ is too big for his britches and can't handle bad criticism. Again, what the Bulls fans did was repulsive and morally unacceptable. Bitter folks crying about something that has literally ZERO impact on anyone's lives... except for poor Thelma Krause.

It was the GM, who is Jerry Krause, who is part of the Organization. And quite honestly, His Airness and the rest of them, as paid professionals of the franchise are ALSO part of the organization. And there was so much going on off the court that Krause (and Reinsdorf, who should not get a pass in this) felt that changes were needed.
