Haha I think in your last video I commented that gear might have spun didn’t realize I was gonna call it😂
@@connorbryan1663 yeah I remember seeing your comment!
@@2vintage love your vids man!
Hey man love the vids. But what happend to the wooden dirt bike build. I really want to see it done.
Talk about a cheapskate you're not supposed to use car antifreeze in a bike what's the matter you couldn't buy the back antifreeze cuz it's $20 for a little jug of 2 quarts and that car sits like what $10 for a gallon 😀
Interesting that the person who was in the bottom end last neglected to tighten the crank nut. It was glaringly obvious to me that that was the cause of all 4 valves bending because of the lower timing gear spinning on the crankshaft. The timing chain had some stretch, but not enough to jump time.
KPMI makes a quality replacement valve, have used them in my Honda CBX and several other engines before and they take brutal punishment with stock reliability.
Great video, thanks Joe!
Really enjoy your teardown/identify/repair/test videos! Thanks for taking us along-
No problem, thanks for watching!
Kibblewhite valves are favored for H-D big twin rebuilds. Mine have over 50k since last valve job.
What my trx450r has, which in my car i wish they wouldn't have changed a thing! It's a 05 which heads are hard to find and and with 13.9 vertex piston and k/w valves make it hard on factory head
Great build joe absolute nailed it mate on the problem that garage is filling up quick lol take care mate awesome job 🔧🔧🔧👍👌
Awesome job Joe...great content buddy...your channel rocks...keep them coming....
Never have worked on a 4 stroke. Always thought they were too expensive to repair, and took a lot more work to disassemble and reassemble. I sure enjoy watching you repairing them, and the knowledge you process.
They do but once you do it a few times it get easier and easier.
i mean they harder then a 2 stroke but you 'often' have less problems with 4 stroke, but if you have problems its alot of work. 2 stroke rebuild are easy but also easy to mess up
A 2 stroke is easier to rebuild and cheaper but 4 strokes aren’t as complicated as they sound
Hi there bro just want you to know I watch your channel everyday every time you put up video on my television but I can't comment when I watch you on my television I'm on my phone right now just want you to know man you ROCK keep those videos coming
Simply amazing. Thanks Joe
Another great video of showing how yo get the job done. 🔥💪
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING SINCE YOU PRANKED YOUR BROTHER SELLING HIS BIKE😂 good times and the good ole days. I love your videos man they actually help me alot! Thank you again.
I hope you used a little tad of locktite on that nut. I made that mistake on the counter balancer on a quad racer 250.
Awesome. Sounds like a new engine. Great job Joe
Always satisfying when it all comes together
Yes it is! The first start is always the best
Lol always your videos I watch on my first break at work !
Thanks for watching!
Another fantastic job thanks 🙏
glad to see it all fixed back up
Runs like brand new again! Cool. The timing chain was stretched so it made its own nut back off and push out its woodriff Key so it could get a new cam chain. LOL stuff loves to come untighten its the ghost in the machine.
Haha yep!
Very good technical repair you performed here , nice work and great video 👍👍👍👍✌
Thank you!
Awesome job
Greetings from Norway mate! I can hear that you mix in some old Norwegian words every now and then, pretty cool!
Great video
7 minutes later 100 views in and here I am. Never miss a beat joe! Love the content
Thanks!
I love your channel and watch all the time. May I make a suggestion? Would you consider numbering your videos for your projects. Such as "Part one of Honda 250" as an example. You had so many projects lately it's a little hard to follow.
Yes that's a good idea. I get how projects can get confusing because of how many I do. Thanks for the tip!
The reason there is a manual cam chain tensioner is because those automatic tensioners have a tendency to fail at high RPM
Channel is blowing up!
kibblewhite! best valves in the game. and theyre like a mile away from my house! great little shop
Cool! I wasn't sure if they were considered good or not
Sounds good
New subscriber and I have one question does he only ride at his parents or does he do trails n dune riding?
Those are good valves
How do you know/decide what type of valves that go in this particular engine? Since they are aftermarket, how do you find correct matches of 3rd party components/parts that fit your model's need?
I just put those valves and there kit inside my ltr450r. Iv always trusted them.
Awesome vid and edits and filming and bikes and shop and knowledge and tools
Thank you!
Some ones split cases that gasket is newer and left that nut loose On my z400 that gasket breaks and sticks to cover
Is the idle speed too high? It's difficult to tell when viewed on a phone.
Great job on the rebuild 👍🇺🇸
Could be a tad high
Btw that nut that is reverse thread should have red lock tite on it and on my bike it’s torqued to 65 lbs I think
Probably put crank and bearings in it not long ago
You would be correct. Had bottom end done on it
Often wonder if it would be easier to pull the whole engine out and work on it on a bench. Hate fighting cramped space
I'm in NC what's a good site I can use to find bikes an quads
You are a very good mecanic, 👍👍👍
has the CR250 come back or this an old video??
This 400cc engine has to be the longest production engine used. Suzuki still use this engine today.
The big problem with the 400 wasn't the chain it was the chain tensioner they made a longer one you had to adjust urself.
Where do you buy your quads for low prices
Nice man sorry I’m late:)
Hello, at my dvx 400 the ventilator from radiator don t start at the same time when i start the engine, only when i ride a while, is that normal?:(
you should put new rings I it
You better change the timing chain tensioner they where very prone to fail
At 26:38, I'm just curious, but where are the two missing studs on the exhaust cam hold down bracket?
They r holes for valve cover bolts
I believe those hold the head down so he did that last
Has the gasket been replaced on the clutch side?
Yes
I remember a 1985 cr500 that would rip the front wheel up in 5th without even pulling the bars.
What happen to all your other bikes?
Tires are different direction just fyi, dont think it matters too much tho
Those are the new 45 degrees valves..supposed to add 10hp
Hi
The idle is all over the place it is normal then starts to rev high and shows again.
I have an 07 TV X 400 motor if you’re interested I live in Canada Ontario
Is this the one that has the Suzuki DRZ 400 engine in it?
No Arctic Cat 250
@@Davido50 it says 400 right on the side bud
@Whoop!
4 bent valves not 1 broke guide??
Haha in the last video I think I called it😂
I think you did!
Not first!!!
Hey Captain obvious the lock washer wasn't on there either was it there should have been a washer on there that was smashed to the side of that nuts to keep it from coming loose somebody forgot to replace it
It is missing a timing guide bud
It’s fine
Would you be willing to rebuild my kx125 for a video? I can pay!
Those valves look great but they are actually trash and will not last.
3rd
Idle sucks
Just put the valve stem in the drill when youre lappen the valves. Btw how do you feel about the climate wokeness, think gasoline motors will soon be banned?
No they won't be banned just eventually die out as they don't make em anymore....into the future. Not goin away anytime soon! - Ohio
I like using the lapping tools better. Drill can be too aggressive. And I don't think gas engines will go away for a long time.
Great job joe absolute nailed the problem mate great build that garage of yours is filling up quick lol take care 🔧🔧🔧👍👌
