Thank you, was literally about to give up but your idea of using a mole grip combined with screwing the clutch down to a heavy wooden surface I could brace against saved the day.

Bought a 50cc 2 stroke scooter cvt that has been modified with70cc sports cylinder, technigas exhaust, sport variator, upgear kit, and was unrestricted. What i noticed just yesterday was that it runs fine and fast on flat but when i went to steep road and stopped on a traffic light, my scooter couldn't bear it and won't move on full throttle. Is that the downside of the upgrade? And does the upgear kit cause it to start right away on the higher gear instead of the lowest gear on take off? Anyway i can fixed this or adjust it back to a smaller gear kit? Or is it the clutch springs that i need to change to give me a good take off? New to scooters so i really appreciate any help😀

you need looser clutch spring or heavier variator rollers

James Burke it sounds like he isn’t getting enough variation to take off on the incline probably due to the “sport variatior” or “upgear kit” I’d recommend going back to the stock variatior roller weights and seeing what happens and if you notice no change try stock clutch springs as they can also affect takeoff

How do you take that big nut off that hold the clutch in?

My friend thanks for your video, i have 2 questions:
1.- I have a 150cc scooter, what spring color you recommend me to use?
2.- For what reason, when I start accelerating the motorcycle, if I accelerate it quickly it starts to make small jumps, but if i accelerate slowly it does not give those little jumps a little bit. I need to purchase a new clutch?
By the why, what is the name of those brackets on the pins in form of letter C? on my clutch one is missing

Try cleaning your carburetor to fix bogging out on throttle

Very wrong. You should pull outward with a sturdy thin string, shoelace would do. That flathead screwdriver damages the spring

Thank you! Just did your suggestion, after having held it down with screws onto a wood table and BINGO! It worked beautifully. Simple piece of strong string wrapped around a screwdriver handle for easy gripping got the springs both off and on.

@@dreamsnchains4830 Glad to know your success in doing that. Oh yes I forgot to mention that you could stuck the other end of the string onto a nail or whatever thing you can stuck the other end of the string to while the other end is placed on the hook of the spring and pulling the whole clutch assembly with that technique makes the whole lot of pulling way much easier.
