I think it's because the guys in Rush were both incredibly focused musicians and good people.
Gene and Paul probably respected their work ethic and musicianship while Ace and Peter probably just enjoyed them as people.
The reason KISS could never get along is because you had 2 guys that put the band/business first and 2 guys who just loved to play rock n roll and have fun which didn't mix.

@@Chadillac-xq7xk Exactly. You wrote what I thought. Ace and Peter were both just as much as a part of early KISS as the other two. That’s why they were equal parts early on. Ace and Peter were also in it to have fun while it seems that Gene and Paul took the fun out of it. Well they didn’t party much either so it probably was never going to last that long and who knows, maybe on the business side of things Gene and Paul wanted the other two gone so they could make more money 💰. That’s how it seems to me because they didn’t want to pay them to come out for the final tour

So far as it seems; Paul & Gene stopped being as much "for the fans" & more "for the business" in the mid 80's after Peter & Ace parted ways.
The 90's gave us "the reunion tour" & "Psycho Circus"; but it became obvious after Peter & Ace left AGAIN where the loyalties were🤔
The 2023 tour proved the dead horse was beat...but [DON'T] GET ME WRONG:
I've been a fan of the "IDEA" of KISS since the 70's; but not so much what Paul & Gene did toward the end.

Never would you have put KISS and Rush together? The year was 1976, and I was a raging KISS fan. I heard about the infamous KISS / Rush concerts, so I bought a Rush album, and I loved them.
The best part is that Rush came to Yakima, and I saw them play the Yakima Valley Community College gymnasium. I was only 15.

@villegasguerreroantonioale6416 UFO were a rough group of guys. They called Geddy "Glee." During the era when Rush wore the robes, UFO would put slippers on their microphones. "Here's some slippers to go with your robe, Glee."

ONe of the things I am sad about, I never really listened to Rush until Neil Passed away. Other than a few songs on the radio. Neil was such a great drummer, Geddy is a great bass player and I always thought Alex was one of the most under rated guitarist ever. Wish I listened sooner and with a more open ear to Neils playing.

Neil’s genius is sooo missed in the world of music!!! Like many others, I remember the first time listening to them-thinking, thank God I don’t have to learn these songs🤯 Fast Forward a few years, and that’s exactly what I was doing-the first serious band I was in, made it clear, we were going to learn as much as we could, from all of our favorite bands!!! That said: all 5 of us dug in, and helped each other with EVERYTHING!!!! So by the time we were 15-16 years old-there wasn’t much we couldn’t play!!! Good Times🏴‍☠️✊🏼🎶☮️

I saw Rush 2 months after they got their new drummer. Sept 30 1974...Headliner/Billy Preston ...opening Kiss and Rush. "Finding My Way" was the first song of the evening. My bandmate and I were on stage right front row. I could touch the stage. We had no idea who Rush was so we got an 8trac and listened to it on the way to the concert. About a 45 min drive. Smoking some $35/oz Columbian Redbud...Rush blew us away. When Kiss came out we were like WTF!!! "Strutter" was their first song. Dont really remember Billy Preston...LOL
