i love the 4 corner blocking and sticky hands, its hard to learn and ive have some nasty blows but its really fun to do.
Very well put together video & solid demonstration of wing chun skills. I like that the instructors & students are in sparring gear so techniques can be executed at near to full speed. Does Sifu Fung ever give seminar in the US? If so, please sign me up!
Can't recommend the International Wing Chun Academy in Aust enough. A solid core of Masters who learnt from Sifu Jim and are keeping with what they have learnt. A1. Go Palmy!
@empirewings excellent, i rolled with hid dad jim at the gold coast just after it was opened, i'm glad to see him following his father jim, he was a great man. I actually remember tristan and his sister coming in with his mum once when jim was visiting, and when i saw the vid i paused thinking he looked like jim in the face, they are fond memories, anybody who is thinking of taking up wing chun, it is worth it, you'll be three times as fast as a boxer easily, and the atmosphere is beautiful
really like these vids.
Great vid and I think it is useful for me in practicing Yang raise hands and step up.
In Basketball shooting, squaring up is basic stance. Similar WC.
Wing Chun is one of the best Martial arts! Efficient and effective! Iv spent most of my childhood and teen life practicing Wing Chun. But last year I started doing Jeet Kune Do which also involves the heavy usage of Wing Chun Kung Fu. It just seemed like the best next step to take!
Firey Red because you didnt reach your highest level yet( in wc), check Grand Master Chu Shong Tin demonstrations To obtain a flow of power ;)

It´s always hard to tell if the "concept and technics" tought at certain school are "good" or not so good, especially if you have no knowledge about the topic yet.
But i would just go there and check it out. Schools schould normally have a free "take-a-look"-lesson for interested people (don´t know what´s the correct english term for this, but you know what i mean).
And then talk to the chief-instructor. You should be able to ask questions as soon as you have any - and (...)
you seem to have a great school there, I don't live in Australia, how do I know what a suitable school would be?
@aaeettee1
isn´t the main idea explained at 4:12 ?
I´m unsure if your question is enough explicit or defined to bring you a satisfying answer (or i just didn´t get it)
@mertles02
(...)the instructor should be friendly and patient and take enough time to explain what you want to know until you have correctly understood (some technics are not suitable for beginners so answers like "I´ll show you later"or"you ain´t ready yet" can appear, but he´ll explain that to you).
I think it´s very important you have a friendly relationship to the "master".
And of course you can take a look at where he has his knowledge from. He will proudly tell you, if legit!
good luck :)
donny yang doesn't give credit to wing chun like he should. he trained with Yip Man's son, yet he has said that he doesn't think it has impacted his martial arts that much.... yang, yen, whatever. ...
