    Well, this was a learning experience for me. I didn't realize getting a spigot installed to the outside was that simple. Even with a fiddly leak popping up. Thanks for showing!

      While I hate the plastic pex connectors I like the more expensive metal ones. Never had one to leak. Had a few freeze and bust but no leaks.

    that metal plumbers tape is a must along with a roll of bailin wire

    I think what you are installing is called a "silcock". I had never heard of a "hose bib", but the internets is telling me they are both outside faucets, but the silcock has the rod that runs deep back into the house.

      I think it is regional the name. This is actually called a frost free faucet on the literature that comes with it.

    my dad when he got cancer ran a hot line to his toilet in the main bath so then he would have a heated commode in the cold indiana winters

      Yes, mom and dad both got cancer and I did that for them too.

    Just speaking from experience, they will freeze and bust if you leave a hose hooked up in cold weather.
