Big Syke came to the homie studio in and did a tight song with my boy and a few songs with some Mexican dudes. We got to smoke a few blunts and he spoke on what Pac was like and things they did. He was a good dude. RIP to Big Syke
Syke admitted to needing a $100 loan at the end of “Check Out Time”. After saying, “hey I’m living the life of a boss playa/the front desk callin but I’m checkin out later. Classic verses by Syke
Always my favorite verse from Check Out Time. The adlibs were funny as hell.

He killed that track. Best verse on the song imo. Loved his voice and flow on there.
Damn Big Homie, syke was talking about keys and he was B.R.O.K.E. the record business is treacherous
Johnny j did right not signing, he produced a lot of Tupac big songs, the r&b song knocking the boots, bizzy bone thug cry and from what I see a lot of other songs. He definitely wasn’t a wack room producer.
That was just the Dogg Pound talking shit , it took them a while to come out with that wack room shit
He didn’t produce the r&b knockin the boots he produced Candy man’s version which was the first
I’ve heard from death row engineers Johnny j didn’t make most of the beats he got credit for. He made the skeleton, basically the drum track and then death row musicians came in and fleshed them out into songs. Same with dj quik
@@20FreeWill😂😂😂
@@glizzyhendrixthat pertains to everyone. Dr. Dre & Daz included. All they did was program the drum machines. But they were directing traffic of the production.
Pac saw that as disloyalty and I understand him, you supposed to be my homie and you trying to cut deals behind my back. After that Quad shooting I guess Pac had no tolerance for snakey behavior.
Pac was getting jerked out his money so anybody in his camp was getting jerked to if I had a family and kids I would have did the same thing
@Riq Butler Syke had no idea at the time, otherwise it wouldn't have made since for him to trust Suge knowing he was jerking Pac.
@@MrRiq29 damn
@@MrRiq29he wasn’t owed any money from death row until literally the day he died for Christ sake, it’s six months until royalties start from the album releasing. @NiktheEnglishGreekCypriot 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣u right . But his mom and Estate says different, he died broke. U need to go check them death row Documentaries out, buddy. Suge Robbed and stole from everybody. Lol that's why he was getting sued so much 🤣 but u know better them the artist 😂😂😂😂
So essentially Syke was getting impatient and wanted his own deal?
Like most other street niggas who hop in the rap game, they want their money instantly
No! Syke wasn’t getting paid for his services (Feats, etc) they gave him $2k a month, while Suge managed ALL the CASH coming in and issued him what he wanted him to have.
@@brentbackwoods2498 I think that’s terrible! Karma returns. You gotta do right, especially when you’re blessed with (managing) $100’s of Millions of Dollars
@Fellow American The album wasn't out long enough for anyone to receive any money. Feature artist get paid by the person who they're doing a Feature for so would've been on 2Pac. Suge was just being kind of enough to give that To Syke.
@@fellowamerican7923 how is it terrible? Syke was booted a month after the album came out, he wasn’t on any singles & wasn’t a big name artist to command high fees for verses so he was actually overpaid for his services at that point.
what i get from all the interviews from the people who loved Pac and were his friends that fell out before Tupac died is that they truly loved Pac and that tupac ment the world for them, like syke, johny J and more..., i think some evil minded people played them all against each other
Johnny J and Pac were a perfect match

Yea definitely
Nah. SYKE and Jonny J was.. listen to the Evil Mind Gangstas CD. Tupac needed new producers. That Bay Area shit. But Jonny was brilliant for Pac he just had too much sampling

According to Capucine (Johnny J's Widow), it was Suge/Death Row that was trying to sign Johnny as a producer as well as trying to get Johnny's publishing and Johnny refused. Johnny didn't receive royalties and that was used as part of Johnny's lawsuit against Death Row, which he won. Although a lot of Johnny's recordings with 2Pac included samples in some form or fashion, a lot of that stuff could've gotten cleaned if the business was done right. There was samples used on a lot of 2Pac stuff, outside of the Johnny J produced stuff. That was part of what was working at the time. It was part of the formula. So, I think a lot of that stuff could've remained as is. Now, I doubt that all of that material would've been officially released. Yet, that was 2Pac's main producer. There's no bullshit behind that. He wasn't there just to keep up and come up with rough ideas/production. That material was what they came up with at the time. 2Pac had plans to do more business and work with Johnny J. He wanted to do more work and business with several producers. Johnny stated that he never had a fallen out with 2Pac. His issue was with Death Row with the lack of business being taken care of as well as some of the nonsense that was going on at the time including the mess at the studio.
@@reggiewright At one point, it was printed (I think it may have been in The Source magazines many years ago, possibly in 1997/98) that it was Death Row, not the estate. I think Death Row was mentioned in the lawsuit against the estate but, I think Death Row was sued also by Johnny. Don't do me like that, @Reggie Wright . You know I try to come correct with the facts.
@@reggiewright I agree with you on that. I wouldn't be surprised if 2Pac didn't know of that. The lawsuit went down after 2Pac had passed away. Some things still were not taken care or addressed and certain things happened as well along the way. I think one of those things being that Death Row had released some unreleased 2Pac material that was produced by Johnny (the stuff on the Gridloc'd soundtrack and Gang Related soundtrack) and I think Johnny wasn't being taken care of for that material. I remember that based off Johnny revealing years later that the retail version of Never Had A Friend Like Me wasn't even the final mix. It was Johnny's rough mix of that track and that he wasn't too happy about that. Some of those 2Pac leaks of Johnny J produced material were actually Johnny's rough mixes of that material.
Be clear folks, I did prove that Johnny J sued Death Row as well, not just the 2Pac Estate. Johnny had sued Death Row first, back in 1997.
Yeah we can all see Death Row was a mess. A pure mess

Reggie do you know who was responsible for releasing all those bootleg Makaveli CDs...Was Suge Knight locked up at that time.
That's actually a very good question!!
@@reggiewright not saying I believe it, but RJ Bond blames your boy John for all of those bootlegs being released back in the day and the reason why we didn't have more 'official' Pac releases
It was literally hundreds of them out
Can't wait for this one
Damn... Pac really removed himself from folk with whom he made excellent music: Big Syke, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Johnny J, Nate Dogg, The Doggpound... All he had left were The Outlawz....
This is why he was doing One Nation project with Boot Camp Clique
I ran into Big Syke in 2004 at a club I in LA and noticed he was driving a late 90’s Honda Accord and immediately thought of how bad things were at DR when it came to pay. Pac should have understood and helped Syke after Suge exposed him of trying to get his own deal. Pac seen and knew what DR was paying Syke and shouldn’t have asked him to leave like that. That’s a pride issue on Pacs part in my book. Pac screwed up on my opinion. RIP Big Syke!!
The money was just starting to come into the game , it was a timing thing , he would have stared getting paid soon , people say Pac wasn't even getting paid that much , Syke stuck around from the Thug Life days , I agree he should have been getting paid. I'm surprised to hear he was driving a clapped out Honda on 04 tho
In 04 a late 90s Honda accord was only what 5 years old ? Still a Honda but people talk about Lexus like its something heavy , Lexus ain't much better than Honda
This can be true, but I met him around 2004. I'd see him often, actually. He was in a Porsche Panamera for a few years , up until his death.
pac was young he wasn’t seasoned
Nah u have to understand how the record biz works. Pac was only home for 11 months. If you know anything about royalties, it takes at least 90 days sometimes up to 6 months before the checks start rolling from the album sales. Pac wasnt due to start seeing royalties from all eyes on me until right when he 2as killed. Knowing how the biz work he would've started seeing checks around the end of Sept, early oct. He got clipped right his pay day. Facts
I used to CAP on Reg😅😅..but I realize now..I really can't, he was THERE, he was left in CHARGE when Suge went to College (it's what we call jail in the bean)..stay true Bomb First💯

This is absolutely 100% true. Even Frank Alexander said the same thing.
its not shocking statement at all, Spider Loc once told story of two producers who came to Death Row as friends Mark Sparks and Doug Mayhem and how Suge manipulated and put the against each other to the point they started fighting on the elevator and then Suge played ''peacemaker''. I think he did similar thing with Snoop and Warren G or RBX or Pac and Mopreme or Big Syke, get rid of people who ask too many question, people who got too much influence on ''his artists''. Get rid of those problematic people to get full control of ''his artists''. I bet he did the same thing with the homies putting them against each other and getting rid of people like James
