Hey Kimmel, was wondering about the 30% discount code, it's not working.
58:00 to answer this question, the market makers have an arbitrage system to bring the two assets together. This also goes for micro to mini and full contract. Its some of the easist money these institutions make. In terms of which follows which. Futures are contracts of underlying assets. The underlying asset value moves and so do futures. The arbitragers bring the price differential to zero. The main rule is that the futures contract must match the underlying asset value at the contract expiration date. This is better understood when you realise why futures exist in the first place.
Futures are there for hedging against a portfolio. For example, lets say Saudi aramco wants to sell 10m barrels of crude oil per day at 70 dollars per barrel. But in two months they expect the price to fall to 65 per barrel. Aramco will then sell crude futures to profit against the drop in revenue that they expect to experience in two months time.
This is the main reason why futures and options exist. Not necessarily for speculators to earn a living.
You are describing long term futures or deep out of the money options. Most traders are day traders or short term swing traders. They can't really use long term hedging concepts for short term trading

This is a really helpful perspective. Once upon a time Prop firms actually wanted traders to win because they were actually giving traders real capital to trade with. But from some of the conversations I hear you having with traders in your interviews it seems that the modern prop firm industry is actually against traders and only use the money people lose on their challenges to pay their profitable traders.
are there any real prop firms left these days that actually fund their traders with real live accounts, or is it all simulated nonsense where the firms are robbing peter to pay paul?

Forex is not banned in the US. You just need a regulated broker to trade it meaning you have lower leverage. In Germany it‘s the same. The regulating party says you are not allowed to trade above 1:50 Leverage same in the US.

Futures are a contract to sell / buy an underlying asset at a predefined price on a target date in a quantity relatibe to the position size.
This means futures are derivatives that sit on top of an underlying asset where movement in the futures causes movement in the underlying asset and also movement in the underlying asset cause movement in the futures. They tend to move in alignment and when they diverge there are arbitrage plays which for the most part have been automated away such that they align better.
At some times futures will drive price action, at other times the underlying asset will drive price action. One thing people should be aware of when they start to get into the world of futures and other derivatives like options are expriation dates. We tend to see very volatile movement in the underlying asset near the expiration of long term derivatives. For example, quarterly SPY options expiration can create an environment where 0dte spy options might print 20x on a single day.

You as a trader should be able to trade different asset classes and instruments
FTMO has slippage to, it costed me a challenge. It was BS, but it seems all firms have issues.
Slipped how?😂😂 and trading what?😂😂 because people overlook that spread changes through out the day i trade us100 and it can go from 0.70pips to 2.5pips depending on the time of the day?😂

Apex has a trailing drawdown and I hate how traders shit on it so much. It's not difficult to overcome if you stay patient, not always trade for home runs and know how to manage risk. If you are a trader that doesn't know how to manage risk, take profits or are always trading with too much size you won't find much success at all. If you're doing those things already, you're probably a bad trader and shouldn't be trading to begin with.

Guys really need to learn the difference between fx, cfd and futures. Eurusd is not a cfd, it’s forex. us30 is a cfd. That’s why you can trade EU in the US on Oanda but not us30. This interviewer may be a good trader, but his ignorance of relationships between financial instruments(futures vs cfd around 58:00) is bad. Kimmel was on the right track and this guy just talked over him with ignorance.
EUR/USD can be a CFD, in fact 95% of retail traders trade Forex with this derivative. US30 is an Índice and can be traded on many forms.
@@rubenblanco3817 this is a common misconception. Forex and cfd are similar, and many use the terms interchangeably, but they are not necessarily the same, at least not by U.S. regulators definition. Us30 is an indice and is a cfd.

those propfirms are kinda scam, lets say you risk 0.5% on prop account that will be around 18 trades you can lose when you can put that money in personal account and just risk 5% per trade and compount very quickly like that it is basicly the same because with propfirms you can only lose 8-10% basicly divided by 10 or x10, i personally have a 40% winrate with 1:5 using 5k personal put that in an equity curve for 1 year around 60 trades for me and see the compound growth. also have to keep in mind with own broker no rules, good fair conditions, no tricks so you lose challenge.... i fall for those but im done with it better to trade personal and build up
Technical analysis is a sham. The amount of time they spent talking about back testing is a waste. The markets are dynamic what worked last year or 5 years ago doesn't mean it will work in the future. The market is constantly changing and evolving, all the traders that are "breakout" traders should know first hand how true that is. You must be fluid with the market , there's no better way to trade than with real orderflow tools. The only thing that matters is volume and order's getting filled at certain price areas.
