I came here because I made a showcase and posted it on Reddit (bad idea) it was my first time ever posting a showcase and I wanted to join in on the fun thinking that soloing storm terror and cyno flower was something to brag about to my surprise, THEY DRUG ME THROUGH THE MUD saying I don’t deserve raiden and there are plenty of people who wanted her durning her rerun and didn’t get her and they would’ve treaded her better or something and called me stupid and dm and saying random insults in the comments. @@Vizible21 not really. she definitely has her own niche. she's a good healer with substantial damage of her own, which can also use vv for elemental debuffs. i know sayu exists, but if you want a healer that can use vv, jean is the go-to option. its similar to how with shenhe's appearance, people had to fit her instead of diona in ayaka/ganyu teams, which prompted them to use kokomi instead of mona to not lose out on heals. so yeah, healers of different elements will definitely always have their uses, and in this regard, jean is yet to be defeated (and don't get me started on how she's a perfect support for xiao)
Jean cant be compared with Venti and Kazuha. They're so different and the only thing similar is that they are anemo which primarily focuses on swirls? Jean is one of the very good physical healer. She's a healer and really cant be compared just because she's Anemo. Yall dont see Venti/Kazuha healing right? Sheesh. Jean is good in her own field as well as Kazuha and Venti in theirs.
@@armanzhanmagauin8269 one thing about Jean that I may add is that Jean can apply anemo when you stand on her burst, which swirls elements that the characters are affected with. This is actually how sunfire jean works, since you're swirling Bennett's pyro application to your enemies (which can also deal a hefty amount of damage if Jean is built with a lot of EM). It can also be used to "cleanse" certain debuffs like the elemental auras that certain enemies have (e.g. the pyro aura which makes your on-field character take damage-over-time), or the domain elemental debuffs (e.g. on the weapon ascension domain on monstadt and the old floor 11 with the slowing waters debuff).
I feel like Raiden Shogun is probably one of the most cohesive characters kit wise in the game, to the point where it almost seems unfair how complimentary her kit is. She has a high burst cost, so you already want to build ER, so her getting passive bonuses from ER makes those passives basically free stats. And Building her ER literally just also makes her burst better, as in more powerful. Also, with high ER, she will be able to charge a solid portion of her energy from her own burst. And then you have her elemental skill, which encourages you to use your other character’s bursts by powering them up, and it also generates particles for Raiden Shogun as long as you are dealing damage. And using extra bursts powers up Raiden Shogun’s burst, which then allows her to use her own burst, do a ton of damage, and recharge everyone else, who can then go in and repeat the whole process. I feel like no other character has such a clear cut way of being used, to the point where her kit encourages you to have rotations. Also just some casual fun things. I like how having her on your party at all literally just feels like a significant power boost to your whole party. What with the Eye of Stormy Judgement doing it’s synced attacks and literally just powering up your bursts. Especially because the Eye have 100% uptime. And I like how the Eye procs on any damage being dealt unconditionally. So you can shoot something with an arrow from halfway across the map and it will proc. Or use Zhongli’s pillar and have the energy wave it emits proc it. Or just about anything. It’s very fun. I also like how because of it’s 100% uptime it feels like a passive, because I’m already using the Elemental skill every opportunity.
Just want to drop this here to help others to optimize their raiden national team. If your Raiden is on 220 above ER, you can have XL on 160 - 180 ER; Bennett can have 150 + ER, XQ below C6 200+ ER and on C6 140 - 160. This is just a general guide so you can tweak this to where you are more comfortable.
damn okay ive always had xq at 220 er maybe that's why his dmg is so low, have him at c6 as well as a jade cutter I sniped. still, isn't 140 a bit too low?
@@kallenkzk3676 not really, but you can tweak it to match the requirements of your team, its just general guide on what to aim for, you can aim for 160 as well if you're more comfortable with that.

5:00 I know most people have already moved on from this and I'm not expecting them to change it either but I still appreciate that you address the interaction (or rather lack thereof) with Beidou. That is something I'm still disappointed about to this day and I'm never going to shut up about it.
Beidou thing might actually be something like mihoyo not allowing electro traveller and baal to be in the same team, since both beidou and e-trav triggers on hit. Would be pretty broken if e-trav and baal can go in the same team since mc can restore energy with their c6 and give 20% of their er
@@nohtbad9344 except Baal has no issues refunding her own energy and getting close to the Er cap needed for emblem. In the case of beidou she’s not gonna be on the field long enough to use the full ult so you’d be swapping out anyway
dude same, i have a c6 beidou, who's my only c6 rn including traveler (too lazy to buy the last constellation from the souvenir shop) and raiden is literally one of my fav characters in the game, right after hu tao.. raiden's burst has to be my favorite burst in the game though, and it reallyyyy sucks how they dont have synergy, i just wish that mihoyo/hoyoverse would fix it already as it's not a huge deal, just a minor adjustment and it would make a lot of ppl happy and improve the game smh why dont they listen to the community
Fantastic video, didn't really know Jean was so viable with her. Jeans one of my favorites but I haven't had many opportunities to use her in the abyss, excited to try this!
Note that Jean he is using is 4 wiredescent build with elemental mastery artifacts (those are fucking rare). I personaly use 2pc glad 2pc wiredescent and run another anemo with 4pc instead. (Venti, Sayu, Sucrose)
@@Bullminator jean with em artifacts only rlly works in the sunfire comp, otherwise i think she's best off with the standard 4pc vv anemo goblet crit build for more anemo burst dmg (such as in the mono electro comp)
as a og banner raiden main, i have to say she’s the most satisfying character in the game for me. i love her sm, i dont think anyone would ever regret her as a pull!!
Simply one of the best dps. Also the fact that she can be played as both main dps and burst support makes her superior. I already got her on the first banner and i hope everyone who wants her can get her because she is just too good to skip lol

I have a request though, if you can start making full team comp videos. Like for example a Raiden National Team on how you will build each character and some tips to execute combos for each team.
@@bookstore101 coz both of them have better teams, kokomi has sukokomon and permafrost teams and raiden has rational and hypercarry, they can work together but they are not the best couple
@@_Tao__ why is that? Kokomi the the most persistent hydro application in the game so it seems logical that they would pair well together. Perhaps it’s just my experience since I’m also running Yae I’m the team.
Anyone who is tempted to get C2, remember that every constellation is enough gems for another 5* unit, say instead of getting C2 Raiden you could go for C0 Ayato and C0 Kazuha instead. In my opinion, a new character is worth much more than a constellation. If youre a millionaire you can do whatever you want of course. (Water is wet, i know, but some people might need the reminder to not fall to temptation)
True, c2 raiden is nice but getting other characters that you like the most is better, pulling for c2 is almost the same for pulling 4 5* character (if you lose 50/50 everytime lol)
well, if you wanna collect characters (or are still working on putting together viable teams), yes. but if you are content with the characters you already have, no. i'm at a point where i don't really care for new characters, i have set teams, that i'm building and improving whenever i can. pulling for 5* Weapons and Constellations improves Characters by ALOT and can definitly change your playstyle for the better. as everything, it just depends on the person.
i went all the way from not having her to her c3 (i've been saving since hu tao banner) so i dont know how good she is at c0 (pretty sure she is one of the best c0 5* bc of her kit alone) but damn, c3 raiden is the nuts I press R and everything just dies lol
Combo Tips : If you need to reposition during her Ult, you can change your combo from N31C to N21C and dash mid-slash to reposition. It will give you the same amount of damage output, but keep in mind to not dash too early, because her CA slash won't be registeted
Your guide was really in-depth, very good Guide. For me, because I didn't expect to get her, I didn't farm. So currently I only have her at lv60, and talents 2, 4, 6. But because she is so squishy being at lv60 I decided to run her with Zhongli, the kicker is, I found out by personal experience and that fit my playstyle, 4pc Archiac Petra Zhongli was perfect for that big Elemental Damage bonus (I don't have Kazuha sooo..) I ran Yae with Tenacity because hehe, her skill is consistently hitting enemies, that's a 100% uptime on the buff and I found that Yae and Tenacity set wirks better than Zhongli with Tenacity because his skill hitting enemies is unreliable. (I'm very unconventional, I play around my playstyle and not Meta Tutorials.) With that set up and a lv8 burst Bennet, I was able to hit 100k+ in floor 12 chamber 1 on the electro wolves with that underbuilt Raiden. In openworld I see her doing, 89-96k and 10 - 15k on the normal attacks after, she does about 46-51k without buffs.
@@e554 if my mind at sometime say do a phys build I'll just do lol, but I mean if I have to do co-op she can do decent dmg outside the burst, or if I decide on roaming the world solo character. I know for most they'll find leveling certain talents on a character is not adviced and I understand that. But for me, it's different.

I’ve had Raiden for a while but never used her. Recently I put her in my team just to level up her friendship. At level 20 with no artifacts, she did notable damage. I put some random artifacts, leveled her to 30 and wow. She , Fishel, alone took down the giant frozen flower in record time. Too bad I main The pirate queen

I spent since January farming for her rerun because I missed it when I took a break from the game. She is so much fun so far and will probably be my first crowned character in the game. I highly recommend her if you can roll she is worth the addition 😩🙏🏾
Currently I’m using Raiden with an ER sands, atk% goblet, and crit circlet on the 4 piece emblem. I have around 50% atk just from the substats, so I thought this would be fine. Also, I use my catch on Xiangling so I use homa on Raiden. I was wondering, would it be better to swap to an electro dmg goblet since I use her in the national team or Yae with Bennett?
Got C2 and engulfing lighting on this rerun. She went from capped 290k damage to 550k lol. Got really lucky tho won all 4 50 50s. I saved so much for both her banners. BP and Welkin moon player =)

The way you explain the artifacts is exactly what I needed to hear. I hope you can do this more often for other characters giving 1 or 2 options for main stats to look out for and 1 o 2 great artifact sets options. Thank you dude. Hopefully you can do this with all the characters in future guides.

This was me but with Yae lol. I saved since Ayaka for Yae. Even after losing the pity to Mona, I still had enough to get to soft pity and then enough wishes to get to soft pity for Raiden.
I didn't learn anything new, but this is making me consider switching Jean away from my current build even though I just finished it. I had heard about sunfire team comps before, but I never really thought much of them. After getting Jean recently I figured it would be nice to make her fill a role that wasn't already being filled by another character. I ended up making her a second physical carry so that I could use her in any cases where healing is very important, but I don't really want to use any conventional healers. From watching this video it seems like sunfire teams would be fun and effective for cases where I might switch her back to VV with a high focus on EM rather than ATK.
i just got her LMFAO i was really saving for kazuha. 108 pulls now im left with 56 and won't pull until kazuha's rerun. i decided to pull cuz my hands were itching then i remembered that she and heizou have good synergy and since i'm a heizou main, i pulled until i got her. she came home at the 76th pull started at 77 pity won the 50/50 two times in a row now.

Despite her skill seemingly does very little damage per tick, the major advantage of it is that it deals AoE electro damage. Most other characters that deal off-field damage are only capable of dealing single target damage. You can capitalize this advantage by using her with anemo grouping characters. Also to point out that with her 2nd Ascension talent (Enlightened One) every point of extra ER *above 100%* is extra energy for every character in your party. So the higher your energy recharge on Raiden, the less ER you need on your other characters, allowing them to run more attack. Adding more ER on Raiden might reduce her own damage but would increase the overall team damage; this is also another reason why Engulfing Lightning is so strong on her since it compensates the downside of investing too much on ER.

This is a great video! I got her on the first banner and have been using her mainly with YanFei, since her E couses overload procs on Yanfei's basic attacks all the time and i built Yanfei as a crit caster becouse of it. Its a shame getting those artifact substats is the hardest thing in the game, but thats just as it is :s Do u have a guide on Kokomi as well? mainly as a healer since her dps is great from the get go.
Raiden Shogun is truly ETERNAL and cant be nerfed by enemy design Venti has a weight limit Zhongli has corrosion The only close nerf is the abyss energy particle wave floor for EI. BTW C2 is amazing produces crazy damage with bennet and sara.
If they introduce an enemy that seals elemental bursts like Raiden herself did in her first boss battle then she'll be nerfed down to the bottom of the barrel. Her entire kit requires that your whole party performs lots of bursts, including her. So skill seal makes her less effective. (As does electro immunity in general.) I don't think they'll nerf her as hard as they got Venti and Zhongli, (who is still a top tier character,) but they absolutely have ways to nerf her if they so choose.
@@normal6483 u really think that they are gonna create an enemy that seals burst, one of the main core mechanics of the game. That's laughable. There's a reason why thats only in the campaign. However if they do that, then these will be the characters that are nerfed. Albedo Arataki Itto Amber Aloy Beidou Bennett Chongyun Diluc Diona Eula Gorou Hu Tao Jean Kazuha Kaeya Ayaka Keqing Electric not physical Klee Kujou Sara Lisa Mona Ningguang Noelle Qiqi Razor Rosaria Kokomi Sayu Shenhe Sucrose Tartaglia Thoma Venti Xiangling Xiao Xingqiu Xinyan Yae Miko Yanfei Yun Jin Zhongli dps traveler and Raiden So basically 43/46 Characters (u really think this is happening), i left fichl, ganyu and yoimiya out because they fulfill their main roll of dps without burst. everyone's
While I don't recommend anyone to pull for 5 star constellation, I think C2/C3 raiden is the most viable option for f2p or low spender to know the how it feels like to have C6 5 star.

A guide on Kaeya would be pretty cool too! I got to thinking about it when seeing your Xingqiu. I see a lot of build ideas for him but have been curious about him in a permafreeze comp with Xingqiu and Chongyun, so your insight on Kaeya and his respective builds would be nice as well! Aside from that, I really enjoy this Raiden video, as well as your other ones. They really help me understand their kids (because sometimes the wording is very awkward) and how to get the most out of their damage! So thank you so much :)

Iirc, without the fishing event you cannot max refine the Catch. Only level four.

Also just some casual fun things. I like how having her on your party at all literally just feels like a significant power boost to your whole party. What with the Eye of Stormy Judgement doing it’s synced attacks and literally just powering up your bursts. Especially because the Eye have 100% uptime. And I like how the Eye procs on any damage being dealt unconditionally. So you can shoot something with an arrow from halfway across the map and it will proc. Or use Zhongli’s pillar and have the energy wave it emits proc it. Or just about anything. It’s very fun. I also like how because of it’s 100% uptime it feels like a passive, because I’m already using the Elemental skill every opportunity.
I completely agree, she's one of the best characters in the game, and one of my favorites.
Raiden Shogun's kit is all nicely wrapped up with a bow meanwhile with the traveler they just threw stuff together and didn't think twice

Just want to drop this here to help others to optimize their raiden national team. If your Raiden is on 220 above ER, you can have XL on 160 - 180 ER; Bennett can have 150 + ER, XQ below C6 200+ ER and on C6 140 - 160.
This is just a general guide so you can tweak this to where you are more comfortable.

Beidou thing might actually be something like mihoyo not allowing electro traveller and baal to be in the same team, since both beidou and e-trav triggers on hit. Would be pretty broken if e-trav and baal can go in the same team since mc can restore energy with their c6 and give 20% of their er

dude same, i have a c6 beidou, who's my only c6 rn including traveler (too lazy to buy the last constellation from the souvenir shop) and raiden is literally one of my fav characters in the game, right after hu tao.. raiden's burst has to be my favorite burst in the game though, and it reallyyyy sucks how they dont have synergy, i just wish that mihoyo/hoyoverse would fix it already as it's not a huge deal, just a minor adjustment and it would make a lot of ppl happy and improve the game

Note that Jean he is using is 4 wiredescent build with elemental mastery artifacts (those are fucking rare).
I personaly use 2pc glad 2pc wiredescent and run another anemo with 4pc instead. (Venti, Sayu, Sucrose)

Anyone who is tempted to get C2, remember that every constellation is enough gems for another 5* unit, say instead of getting C2 Raiden you could go for C0 Ayato and C0 Kazuha instead. In my opinion, a new character is worth much more than a constellation. If youre a millionaire you can do whatever you want of course.

Combo Tips : If you need to reposition during her Ult, you can change your combo from N31C to N21C and dash mid-slash to reposition. It will give you the same amount of damage output, but keep in mind to not dash too early, because her CA slash won't be registeted

For me, because I didn't expect to get her, I didn't farm. So currently I only have her at lv60, and talents 2, 4, 6. But because she is so squishy being at lv60 I decided to run her with Zhongli, the kicker is, I found out by personal experience and that fit my playstyle, 4pc Archiac Petra Zhongli was perfect for that big Elemental Damage bonus (I don't have Kazuha sooo..)
I ran Yae with Tenacity because hehe, her skill is consistently hitting enemies, that's a 100% uptime on the buff and I found that Yae and Tenacity set wirks better than Zhongli with Tenacity because his skill hitting enemies is unreliable. (I'm very unconventional, I play around my playstyle and not Meta Tutorials.)
With that set up and a lv8 burst Bennet, I was able to hit 100k+ in floor 12 chamber 1 on the electro wolves with that underbuilt Raiden. In openworld I see her doing, 89-96k and 10 - 15k on the normal attacks after, she does about 46-51k without buffs.
fun fact: there's literally 0 point levelling up her basic attacks

I’ve had Raiden for a while but never used her. Recently I put her in my team just to level up her friendship. At level 20 with no artifacts, she did notable damage. I put some random artifacts, leveled her to 30 and wow. She , Fishel, alone took down the giant frozen flower in record time. Too bad I main The pirate queen

I spent since January farming for her rerun because I missed it when I took a break from the game. She is so much fun so far and will probably be my first crowned character in the game. I highly recommend her if you can roll she is worth the addition 😩🙏🏾

Currently I’m using Raiden with an ER sands, atk% goblet, and crit circlet on the 4 piece emblem. I have around 50% atk just from the substats, so I thought this would be fine. Also, I use my catch on Xiangling so I use homa on Raiden. I was wondering, would it be better to swap to an electro dmg goblet since I use her in the national team or Yae with Bennett?
Got C2 and engulfing lighting on this rerun. She went from capped 290k damage to 550k lol. Got really lucky tho won all 4 50 50s. I saved so much for both her banners. BP and Welkin moon player =)

The way you explain the artifacts is exactly what I needed to hear. I hope you can do this more often for other characters giving 1 or 2 options for main stats to look out for and 1 o 2 great artifact sets options. Thank you dude. Hopefully you can do this with all the characters in future guides.

This was me but with Yae lol. I saved since Ayaka for Yae. Even after losing the pity to Mona, I still had enough to get to soft pity and then enough wishes to get to soft pity for Raiden.

I didn't learn anything new, but this is making me consider switching Jean away from my current build even though I just finished it. I had heard about sunfire team comps before, but I never really thought much of them. After getting Jean recently I figured it would be nice to make her fill a role that wasn't already being filled by another character. I ended up making her a second physical carry so that I could use her in any cases where healing is very important, but I don't really want to use any conventional healers. From watching this video it seems like sunfire teams would be fun and effective for cases where I might switch her back to VV with a high focus on EM rather than ATK.
She is so good I had to pick up c2 this time around now I got c6 Sara I gotta build her now
EL does not only provide dmg but also aestheticness, it blends well to her design.

i just got her LMFAO i was really saving for kazuha. 108 pulls now im left with 56 and won't pull until kazuha's rerun. i decided to pull cuz my hands were itching then i remembered that she and heizou have good synergy and since i'm a heizou main, i pulled until i got her. she came home at the 76th pull started at 77 pity won the 50/50 two times in a row now.

Despite her skill seemingly does very little damage per tick, the major advantage of it is that it deals AoE electro damage. Most other characters that deal off-field damage are only capable of dealing single target damage. You can capitalize this advantage by using her with anemo grouping characters. Also to point out that with her 2nd Ascension talent (Enlightened One) every point of extra ER *above 100%* is extra energy for every character in your party. So the higher your energy recharge on Raiden, the less ER you need on your other characters, allowing them to run more attack. Adding more ER on Raiden might reduce her own damage but would increase the overall team damage; this is also another reason why Engulfing Lightning is so strong on her since it compensates the downside of investing too much on ER.

I got her on the first banner and have been using her mainly with YanFei, since her E couses overload procs on Yanfei's basic attacks all the time and i built Yanfei as a crit caster becouse of it.
Its a shame getting those artifact substats is the hardest thing in the game, but thats just as it is :s

Raiden Shogun is truly ETERNAL and cant be nerfed by enemy design

The only close nerf is the abyss energy particle wave floor for EI.
BTW C2 is amazing produces crazy damage with bennet and sara.
If they introduce an enemy that seals elemental bursts like Raiden herself did in her first boss battle then she'll be nerfed down to the bottom of the barrel. Her entire kit requires that your whole party performs lots of bursts, including her. So skill seal makes her less effective. (As does electro immunity in general.)
I don't think they'll nerf her as hard as they got Venti and Zhongli, (who is still a top tier character,) but they absolutely have ways to nerf her if they so choose.
