Hi great video put a little oil down the bore it see if the comp comes up if so it’s your rings will be interesting to see it done great content
Also with the leak down tester if you open the coolent over flow and it bubbles then it can be the head gasket and I think it’s my head also did a compression test and 2 are low so I got another head dident have a leak down tester might get one just to make sure but when I turn the car over u can hear back fires in the intake manifold and yours is maybe burnt and it can be a bit bent and not make that much noise cus the compression ro is low so there’s some space in there

The last leak down test i did which was in that same red range was on a CG170 (can google if youd like) thought it would have been a ring but removing the head it was actually a valve not seated properly...replaced the head in the end xD

When doin cyl leak down test you gotta have it on compression stroke tdc.
That 2 step tune did this.
Notification squad I just added new valves in my Evo 8 smh Mine was popping/ back firing at idle and eventually would die at idle. Boost would cut off. New valves now everything is fixed
I think it just the intake valve a little milt because all of back fire that you have.
Just watched the previous “snow bunny” episode. Ya, you overheated the evo, then kept running it hard, when your all aluminum block/head finally cooled, (front of car was packed with snow, no radiator/inter cooler cooling) everything warped. You may have more than just #3 intake valve problems. Good luck man. Love the the show. Hope the 10 is ok. Might as well build the head/cams/etc now 😉.
You bent a valve when you raced that AMG. Guaranteed
If the valve came apart , the turbo will need a turbine wheel replacement, because of debris hitting the turbine. Because the turbo isn’t smoking, the valve many have not come apart but may just not be sealing for a different reason.
I think it’s a bent head valve, my friends sti was running great but couldn’t build more than 9 psi. Ended up being a bent valve
What gauge pod set up does he have for his gauges ?
You overheated the evo in the snow the other day..being it's all aluminum that's all bad! Either warped the head, fried a compression ring or burnt valve.
Simple Subie I know, when I watched that video the other day I was thinking “man he’s beating on that thing, but if it were a track car he’d beat on it too” but track cars break shit too.
@@justinturner4850 yeah I have a 02 wrx as my track car and it has 180k on the engine but I run 15w50 oil and a nice oil cooler. There was so much snow blocking air flow to his enginr and now its burnt lol

Yeahhhhh like we talked about before we did the hotboi. Valves and turbo hotsides take an absolute beating if you use it too much. Its ok though, it will get rebuilt with valves that can take the abuse and be better than ever!

I'm gonna guess it has a lot to do with the car overheating in the snow the other day. Just my opinion lol.
Its probably burnt to hell. If it was a bent valve you would feel some restriction turning the crank pulley or hear the sucker while it's on.

I have a Evox and it's the spark cut(anti-lag) I can't stress how bad this is for the motor. When you floor it the car waits and cuts the ignition (spark cut) till your valves open up then it ignite's and when the combustion goes off since the valve are open that combustion travel from your cylinder through the whole car and that's why you get an AK out of your exhaust. It's bad for the motor head to toe it's just to much load to be putting the car under. Trust me I know I have it and my spark cut is wicked I have videos of me shooting like 5ft flames but I've only done it a hand full of times, you been going on FULL SEND and beating on it, which I love but eventually you'll blow a cylinder or you'll bend your valves. Your spark plugs need to be changed more often, that's why its popping on idle and your pops and bangs tune is terrible for the engine.
