I tried the new SE and found the sound had none of the sound of the original Bose Soundlink, ie it had no bass or separation. Is this something others have noticed or was it just a faulty unit? I sent it back in disgust and have gone back to my original unit.

@@keeprightatdfork Mini II and Revolve II are only speakers on my list. It's between sound quality or true 360 and I still can't decide. I wonder if Mini II can do great room filling sound like the Revolve II?
Its the SE edition launched after the original edition with a micro usb port for charging. This SE edition has the usb type C port but doesn't come with the docking charger out of the box.
maybe your'e comparing it to the previous model with the gold color. this is the SE edition or the refreshed unit with the usb c port connection unlike the previous model which has the micro usb only but does have the charging cradle. this unit doesn't have the charging cradle. Yeah the original soundlink sounds better. Seems like they are cost cutting on this new se models.

Probably. Most of this model is made in Malaysia even the older soundlink mini version.

Not sure. I haven't compare this with the old version in terms of the sound quality. I believe its the same speaking of sound output

I bought this model from bose speaker because of its form factor and classy looks. There are newer model from bose speakers with alexa feature.

Yes it does but in a standard room size or a not too big living room. I suggest revolve 2 is your best bet.

Does it auto power off after some time of no sound playing?
Yes it automatically turns off if kept idle with no sounds.
