@B0omer96 thank you, I tried to have respect for this reviewer but this is a telling sign. I was given a soundlink mini as a gift, when it first came out. I thought it was a joke when I first heard it. I went on to use it for years and enjoy it many times, but my first impressions weren’t wrong. At the end of the day it’s a horrible value and a shitty product. The battery never once functioned properly and shut itself off constantly. There’s so many better products for a better price. No Bose doesn’t sound bad 100% of the time, but never has Bose ever had good value or the best anything. The MINIRIG 3 or anker soundcore motion boom both wipe the floor with anything bose.
I have this speaker and it is a total winner!! before this I used to have the JBL FLIP 5 and nope... no comparison at all!! I sold the JBL and kept the BOSE!!! killer product!! oh yeah.... y try the battery by keeping the speaker at low background volume and lasted for ridiculous 26 hours straight!! very happy with it!
Just came across this review. I bought one of these to carry inside my computer technician bag for those times when I would be repairing or installing computers. I agree with everything you said in this review. It is small enough to take just about anywhere and the sound is shockingly good for such a little hockey puck. Spot on in your review!
I have a Bose Soundlink II and Revolve Soundlink and Bose headphones (forgot the model name) and they are all GREAT!
I am a professional free lance pianist and piano teacher, and since the olden days of the boom boxes I have loved having portable radio/music etc. (I still have a Panasonic vintage 1984 on which the cassette player died years ago but the radio still works GREAT!) The Bose mini speakers mentioned above compared to ANYTHING I tried out (and returned) has been great. So after years of buying cds and headphones and iphones for our sons, a few years ago it was MY TURN to have great headphones and mini speakers. I keep one in my studio (the older Soundlink II) and the newer Revolve I carry around the house wherever I am working/sitting.
Thanks for this review because I have a professional symphony violist friend who lives now in NY but travels to NC to play in the Greensboro symphony, however with COVID-19 she is staying with her elderly folks and caring for them, and no gigs or teaching. I am going to get her this mini speaker as a birthday/anniversary gift as both dates are in April. Plus I plan to record some accomps etc. for her to practice with at her parents' home. I will be able to also give her pitches so she can tune her viola. Her parents only live 10 miles from me, but we can't visit in person right now. So THANK YOU!!
Bro you gotta try stereo mode. Get another one and pair them together and rest your ears in between the two speakers. Moment of bliss!
I just bought two of them for the same reason. Great portable stereo combination for the pool, house, etc.
Thank you I see a trip to Best Buy, that is what I wanted to know.
Yup, couldn’t agree more. Absolutely love mine and use it everyday. I’m still in awe of how much sound and volume comes from such a tiny speaker.
Congrats on getting married! A friend of mine has the Bose SoundLink Revolve+, if I hadn't heard it with my own two ears I would not believe the sound quality. If the Soundlink Micro has even a fraction of the quality then I am getting one.
Seven years later, and still one of the best birthday gifts ever.
The anti-Bose sentiment is exactly what you mentioned. Once a product becomes too popular and widespread...the snobs attack it because too many people own the product and snobs want to feel special by being part of the few 'experts' smart enough to own a certain product or brand.
I see it in other forms of entertainment as well including music.
Snobs are an utter joke IMHO! :)
BTW...I'm sitting here in front of my computer listening to this review with another INCREDIBLE Bose product sitting on my shoulders. The Bose - SoundWear Companion Wireless Wearable Speaker.
This thing sits on my shoulders and around my neck practically all day and whenever I hop on the bike to take a long ride.
Sounds is amazing and since it sits on your shoulders and around your neck...you're always in the sweet spot!
It’s been out since 2017. Yes it doesn’t use BT 5.0 or use usb-c and lacks a 10 hour battery. It does one important thing well...best sounding micro bt speaker out there.
Near 30% audio I got nearly 16 hours of play 👏🏼
I love my Bose Soundlink Revolve+, had it for over 3 years, traveled with it, has a few scufs and bruises but still sounds like a champ, I fact I'm watching this video with my soundlink on.
can you confirm if google assistant works with ought pressing a button?
@@tyrontanti8370 when attached to my phone no button is needed, just talk to your phone 🙃🙂
I have owned the Soundlink Micro foe a few years now. My main use is on my Mountain Bike. It work great a provided enough volume while I am riding in the Desert. I prefer this over earphones because I am still aware of my surroundings etc. Great device and great review.
Bike messenger here. We use these types of portable speakers all the time for casual listening and communication. This BOSE Micro replaced my old Boombot REX speaker and it is a significant upgrade in terms sound quality and volume output. The only thing I don't like about the Micro is that the rubber strap on the back is flimsy in comparison to the REX's rugged belt clip. The Micro doesn't stay well put on my messenger bag strap without the aid of some extra velcro strips because of this. If BOSE makes a new version of the Micro with an actual belt clip rather than the rubber strap, I'd get it in a heartbeat.
I found one waiting at a bustop and i can tell you this is like the best thing that i ever found lol its basically brand new
Literally just found one and came here to see a review lol . Guess this means the strap is not reliable lol
@@RATEDAO haha nice and mine is lol
Wait you took someone else's? :( what if they came back for it and couldn't find it because it was stolen?
RATED AO or the dumbasses tht lost em didn’t use the strap 😂😂😂

Really honest and enjoyable review to watch. Seen a lot of these, but this lacked the obnoxious animations, annoying plugs and barrage of crappy ads so many tech reviews have. This just felt sincere.
Absolutely spot on to ignore this as a phone speaker too, who the hell is using that on these speakers???
Hope to see your reviews around more often.
Awesome review! Ive had this speaker for a year now and its awesome on every level!
I don't get the Bose haters either... They are about quality sound, not for bass heads. I have the SoundLink headphones, Solo soundbar and a nice pair of bookshelf speakers and I love them all! Never EVER had any issues!
I got this for my kid based only on it’s portability (weight, size, hang strap and weather resistance) But I must admit it punched way beyond my expectations sound wise! It’s kind of unbelievable that sound coming out of that little…. thing. Ended up buying another one for me.
Walked into Walmart looking for something portable and more powerful than the $20 speaker I got from Amazon. I tested many speakers on site and this BOSE...grabbed my ear and WOW. I cant stop raving about the sound quality. I turned it on and walked away to listen to some others and I was just in awe of the crisp clean sound coming from the BOSE. That feeling you great from money well spent....BUY IT!
I agree with your review 100%! I have used mine for over two years. Sound is fantastic. Battery lasts forever. I strap it to my bicycle handlebar for rides instead of using earbuds because I get great sound and can hear ambient sounds (road & trail safety). I strap it to my golf bag (or lay it in a cart). I use it in my kayak. I even bought one for my brother, and one for a friend to use on their lake boat, and they love it. Next step is to buy myself a second one to pair for stereo sound (although the sound from just one is fantastic). Each one I’ve purchased from HSN / QVC for between $60 and $70.
I own what I believe to be a very high end sound system. I also own Bose gear. I’ve traveled many tens of thousands of miles with my Bose Soundlink and my Bose Wave radio had performed perfect service for about 20 years. Frankly, I just like music whether it’s through Sennheiser cans on my commute, or through a car radio or my bedroom. None of that ‘lo’ or ‘mid’ fi engagement means that I don’t super enjoy my Revel Ultima Salon 2 speakers.
This guy, AR, is good, expresses himself well
Ever since I learnt about buying refurbished, I do this w Bose and the items are perfect, look brand new and customer service is excellent.
I just wish that this item had a hook to hook on to my bag. Hey Bose, hope you’re reading this :)
I have the JBL Pulse 2 Bluetooth speaker which I have had for at least 4 years, and I have noticed that it sounds better when I place it on my outdoor glass table weirdly enough. Just like the Bose speaker, when you push the volume on songs that are loud and detailed, the volume can roll off a little bit, so I tend to just put the volume to the pinnacle of what it can handle comfortably, and leave it. It can go pretty freaking loud for what it is, and is better at clarity and detail than my Sherwood bookshelf speakers.
I have the flip 3 and flip 4, the overall quality of sound rolls off when I turn them up all the way, they sound the best at 80% or less.
I just won one through a raffle. I'm glad you mentioned that its a great speaker. this is great!
Great review Andrew, just what needs to be said plain and simple, I had already decided to purchase this little speaker and watching your review just made it a no brainer, thanks…
I also like the fact that you can turn it on from your phone without actually touching the speaker
had this bad boy for over a year and its def a winner. strap it on a bike, a lamp, travel everywhere with us and very decent sound.
Great review! Nice to see honest enthusiasm for what makes you happy. On the negative per your request my checkered past with boss hit the fan when we were never allowed to set up Bose in a sound room to demo with others. Even today they are in the walkway at best buy. 901 and others sounded great but they had that eq box which many hated. The sad part was they never did data and when it was done by competitive products they were massive holes in the response. But then as you say they sound great!! Buy them luv them hate them....life goes on and Bose sells millions!!! Hugs tongue missus!
The main reason why Bose is disliked is not because of the sound of their products.
It's because you can usually get an equivalent to any sound system or speaker that they make from another company, at usually 3 times less money! Bose usually use the cheapest materials possible in their stuff while maintaining a good quality sound. But then they rob you at the cash! If you look around I'm shure you can very easily find a cheaper equivalent that is at least as good or even better then the Bose product. That's the plain truth about Bose.☺
I agree 100%. I've purchased and been disappointed by multiple Bose portable products. My personal opinion is they under deliver on sound quality (subjective I know) and come in at a premium price. Very competitive products out there for less money. Now to be fair, something this small plays right into the Bose play book. Drivers and enclosures this small depend almost entirely on DSP and that is where Bose can shine. But then, somehow they failed in the Soundlink 3 which was $299 down the drain in my tastes and experience. Fan boys will be fan boys...the Sony guys disagree with the JBL guys which disagree with the Marshall guys... LOL
Hello Mr Robinson, thank you for your reviews. I always look for portable sound systems and your review is well rounded and fair. I do have the Bose revolve plus and they are awesome. I needed something smaller and these fit the bill. Thanks again for your review and keep doing what you do.
This review highlights the reason I subscribe to your channel. It highlights the joy of music and of the tools to bring it to life. As for this particular Bose product, I also agree that it does a great job and I thought that Bose would never play in this "low budget" market. This said, there are some good speakers in this space to play around and try, or own, a few brands/models. I like Bose as an audio brand. They have a very unique sound - it's fun to listen to music on Bose speakers. This one adds portability and fun to the mix.
Thank you so much!
I have a lot of audiophile gear for listening at home or even on the go with iem... but still I own Bose products cause they sound good enough and have some characteristics that are best of class. Noise cancelling for plane rides!!!! Wouldn’t do without it... true wireless buds for sport... I love those for when I’m training at gym. Ok the tuning might not be ideal for critical listening (I think we can agree on that) but at gym or on a airplane I ain’t looking for critical listening... I’m looking for something else and Bose is fulfilling the requirement... thumbs up to Bose and to this review!!!!!
I choose the Bose soundlink flex over the soundlink micro
I think audiophiles are looking for electronic sound. Most people I know that play in a string symphony, wind symphony, orchestra or any music that is not electronic like Bose. Or maybe they watch movies a lot? I play both string and wind and orchestra. And prefer the wave radio.
the reveiew was great, could i ask when you took it to France did you take it in your hand luggage or hold luggage :) thanks Soosie
I have the speaker for my BMX rides or mountain biking I clip it on my belt it is so freaking loud for death metal music or any kind of music for that small speaker it's worth the money
Bought this speaker few days ago and didn't regret. Yes, it's expensive but I am much more happy with my purchase than when I bought Xtreme 2 for 300$ at the summer of 2018.
That’s awesome! Happy listening.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Thanks! I'm so excited about it that I am considering to buy the second one. Not sure yet because of the price but stereo mode should be awesome I guess.
Came here for the Bose, but that QL is beautiful! I have a QL17 GIII myself so that def caught my eye. Great review. I think I'll be picking one of these up tomorrow, and strap it on my day bag
Bose just came out with the Soundlink flex for $49 more.
BOSE is excellent for the folks who want great sound, simplified. Not everyone wants to deal with high end receivers and specs. That is great for the audiophile! It all comes down to preference
Agree 100%. Thanks for watching!
Andrew Robinson hey Andrew I have a question about stereo receiver suggestions. I have BOSE 301 speakers and a Yamaha subwoofer... I’m looking for a receiver with punch. My Bose speakers candle up to 150 watts 8 ohms. Any suggestions. Just would need to have HDMI inputs and equalizer and sound field options...
What's your budget? Would you consider a home theater receiver?
Andrew Robinson thank you for responding! Yes I would consider one $300-450
Here's a stereo receiver from Denon that is right around your budget that has HDMI connectivity that may be worth a look amzn.to/2BSrQLv
So it doesn’t ruin the charging port when you dunk it in the water? Cuz I just bought mine and I see that there’s no cover for the charging port.
Great review and congratulations on your marriage, wishing you both many years of health and happiness.🙏🏻❤️ Ww love our sound but regardless of whether it’s Bose, Harmon/Karden, etc, if it sounds good, we’re in. -Chris & Beth🎧
Great review! Can it be paired with an Android smartphone as well? The reviews I've seen only talked about pairing with an iPhone.
I just bought one. I also have a Samsung Galaxy phone. It connects just fine.
Yes, I have paired all of mine with my android. The sound is great. I own about five Bose speakers. I sold... Lol
Now this one is more my speed. Bose makes good stuff for certain things. Wireless noice canceling headphones is one of them. Great for travel.
Mine is out for delivery from Amazon, can't wait for it to arrive any minute. Just a wonderful review! Subscribed.
Thank you so much. Enjoy it and be well!
Thank you for a great video, and congratulations on your marriage.😊
I have to give it a listen. The JBL Clip is a magnificent sounding bluetooth or direct connect weatherproof portable speaker. I've listened to one owned by a musician fried of mine, and wish you had done a side by side comparison. The JBL costs half the price as the Bose.
Did a side-by-side in store (Best Buy) and there was no contest the Bose was better (IMHO). I owned the JBL a few years back, and honestly, I never remember it being THAT great, and in my head-to-head, in-store shoot out my memories were proven correct. The Bose is just a superior product -albeit a more expensive one.
I have listened how Clip 3 and Micro sounds. At the same place and the same time. I was really really impressed by Bose performance. Yeah, it's much more expensive but the sound is so much better on Bose Micro. So... I bought one and I'm very happy with it.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Well, as I initially said, I had to give it a listen, in comparison. I did, and found your critique very valid. However, to my ear, the JBL better delivered classical orchestration. I may well buy the Bose. Thanks for the feedback!
I bought myself one and loved it so much I bought one for each of my sisters and they also are batshit crazy over them. Oh yeah and I bought one for my son and it was the orange one and it got stolen. I think because it stood out so much.
This speaker rocks!! Totally agree! I own One ! 👏🏻👏🏻
I got my JBL GO 2 for 20 bucks. Retails for 40. It's loud, clear sounding, great bass w/passive radiator and the same size as that thing. Also has noise canceling speaker phone. I use it all the time for listening to podcasts in my car (RIP car stereo for many years) also not too bad for music too.
Thank you soo much I just ordered it now.
Just got one of these and I am impressed with the sound for its size. I also like the app that goes along with it. A nice bonus.
It’s so good! Thank you for watching.
Do you think it would fit on motorcycle handle bars? Thanks Dave
It would fit but it’s not loud for crap and at full volume it would last no more than 2 hours probably
You got a new subscriber, just because of your intro and congrats on your wedding.
hi there, did you notice some sound change (less bass, more treble) after updating the firmware to 2.6.0 or above?
How do you pair the speaker?
The bose app.
Long time audiophile here, 100% agree with the BOSE hate thing. Why so much hate? They make the best PILOT headsets on the market ant their noise-cancelling tech remains unbeaten. Yeah their passive speakers, specially the tiny ones are shit for the money but u can't blame 'em for having successful marketing.
Nice vid! I do however encourage you to try B&O's Beoplay P1 whose absolute crappy battery (3-4 hours tops) is the only thing keeping it from being a much better-sounding option to the SoundLink Micro.
I am looking forward to testing more of these tiny gems in the future, especially those from Bang & Olufsen as I am a long time customer of theirs and generally think their products are pretty damn special.
Some may say that the best pilot headsets are from the brand Lightspeed. Maybe look it up to get an idea about it.
Great review. I have just ordered me second one for stereo.
The volume goes down when the bass gets higher. It's annoying when you're paying so much.
Thanks for your great review. I have 2 of these. I keep one in my bathroom and one I carry with me to the pool or on vacation to play in the room. I do have other BT speakers that I use for other occasions. JBL Charge 3 at the beach. Harman Kardon Onyx 4 if I want to blow everyone away and impress. When I go camping and take out the HK everyone in listening distance puts there BTs away and bows.
Excellent review.. Thank you, sir - I just bought one
AWESOME REVIEW !!!! VERY WELL SPOKEN
Thank you kindly!
Bought this speaker on a whim. Pleasantly surprised with its performance. Definitely going to buy another one or something else in the Bose line up to sync them.
I dont recommending sinking them. They are not that waterproof. You will damage your product.
Man I got one in 2023 thinking it was new I feel kinda ripped off
Why aren't you letting us hear it?
I briefly owned one of these and agree with your assessment. Great for the size, and practical. It will be interesting to see how the about to be released 1More BT Speaker which is the same price/form factor compares.
Interesting. Thanks for watching!
Just ordered one from amazon for $79 plus $7.00 for 3 yrs insurance 😆😎👍
insurance?
Andy Jeong Yes Amazon offers a third-party insurance very cheap it’s worth it in case something happens

This speaker is really great and it's sound just awesome... Bose is really boss♥️♥️♥️
This video is awesome well done thank you this speaker is awesome I like it better than the sound link color 2 and it can be paired for stereo which is amazing. Hope to see you doing more Bluetooth speakers. You give a great informative video presentation.
dindinmodern speakers are very good, the sound has a certain depth and atmosphere, hardware bass and treble control is also a real praise, the price is now there is a discount
Hi andrew, Love your videos.! :) Please can you do a Bose Home portable speaker review.?
Great video I have a couple of them to pair up in stereo awesome sound I use one at the pool fills the room with sound just an awesome speaker I’d wish they would make it in more colors like the sound link color. Your video inspired me to buy my first one.
Thanks that’s exactly what I wanted to know.
Great review, u talked me into subscribing. Hehe
Thank you for subscribing.
Secret for make Bose soundlink micro sound more nicer try to put it in the corner of the wall
Just bought this and the. Jbl charge 4. I’m all set
Any word on an updated version with USB C?
Same question here, and more than two speakers for pairing together. Love Bose by the way
Nice review, but get rid of the background noise.
Do you mean the music?

Yes.
But can it be used for calls? Thanks much!
Yes

I love mine👍 take it everywhere
Good info about saying dont have too have the app...much better video for the info on the Bose micro
can anyone advise if this will sound much better than MacBook Air speakers?
yes. by a lot.
@@JamesJohnson-sk3cd especially if you spend more and pair two of them for stereo. I love mine; have had them for 2 years now.
i love bose id like to get multiple but too expensive for many
Bluetooth and smart speakers are lovely technology. Except for certain higher end brands however, you just don't get the performance specs. Bose doesn't release the power or frequency response spec for any of their stuff that I could find. That's perhaps part of why audiophiles don't like the modern tech. I certainly has slowed me down. I guess since judging listening quality is mostly emotional anyway it doesn't matter much.
Who cares about specs? Just use your years and listen to how it sounds. Jesus Christ you don't listen to specs you listen to how it sounds
Hi Andrew. It's a good speaker indeed. Had to purchase it the second time as the first was stolen . 😀
I did worry about theft at times while traveling with this tiny thing. Bose has some name recognition globally, so it likely would be more apt to get nicked, compared to some no-name bluetooth speaker. Thanks for watching!
Great review!
Is this the best speaker for bass ??
It has surprisingly good bass given its pocketable size, but if you're hoping to shake or rattle furniture, no, it's not good for that.
I just wanna close my eyes and listen to your voice forever.
Subscribed 😎👍
I tried to connect to another small blue tooth speaker. Didn’t work, guess it has to be another one just like it
Has to be Bose.
Connects to my Bose tower easily; music now inside and outside
Bose was against my wallet!
For real! Battery lasts foreverrr!
Don't forget the 1 year anniversary. They hate that.
It does rock!!
The reviews I've seen only talked about pairing with an iPhone.
I got a lemon. It no longer charges. It's a paperweight now.
2 Micros tied together with their straps in party mode in a V shape actually are pretty cool sounding (without caveats) in the corner of the room, a single micro like many $99 personal audio device just aren't worth having. The Bose Revolve just smashes any thoughts of not spending the extra $100 for bending wave transform (ie. highend) loudspeaker. I wish they had put the handle on the Revolve like the did the Revolve plus. But 2 revolves with Tidal is better than many people's real "audio system". Why people hate Bose, in most cases Bose doesn't sound that good especially where it matters, home speakers and surround sound systems. I own the Soundwears and Noise Cancelling 35's. BUT! for me unlike JBL that makes the Synthesis and the Everest, Bose does nothing to expand the audio hobby and people's aspirations. Very very disappointing to see all that engineering potential wasted. The micro is not acceptable audio IMO, it is only better (like many audio products) than nothing at all.
Not every customer wants to climb a ladder and keep buying gear all the time, most want to buy one product or products that will last them a good long while and get on with their lives, this is where Bose shines.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I don't have a clue what you are talking about in reference to my post. I think I was specifically talking about buying the right Bose product for $100 more and explained why someone like me who is willing to climb very tall ladders doesn't like Bose. So what YOU are saying is, its better to "believe" you bought good sounding equipment than actually taking the time to make sure you bought good sounding gear? Exactly how is this attitude not killing the audio industry? Wither Cambridge Audio, Paradigm, PSB......
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Absolutely 👍
Nope! Try Anker's Soundcore Motion+. The very best portable Bluetooth speaker under $100. Easily the best.
Battery is 4 to 6 hours only
