Sorin, not sure if you read comments on old videos, but here’s a tool that is NOT in your toolbox…
A standard dishwasher. Yes, I’m serious. I’ve cleaned several circuit boards in the dishwasher. Works awesome. They come out spotless.
As long as it’s all semiconductors and no cube relays, or other parts that can trap water, a dishwasher works awesome for cleaning boards that have very heavy dirt, spills, and gunk stuck to them.
I typically put a light amount of detergent in the machine, and suspended the boards with wire bread twist ties. Let it run through the entire cycle, including the dry cycle.
Search for “CERN dishwasher” and you’ll see that it’s even used by scientists. It’s great because you throw the board in, and go do other work while it washes!

This has been a really interesting video. Thanks for the work putting the footage together.
I failed trying to fix a friend´s Lenovo X1 reflowing the onboard main memory (It was already dead but during the reflow, it posted and crashed a few times). I quitted after it stopped posting at all, but after seeing this video I think I might try to find new memory chips.
Regarding the liquid metal... I have it on my own laptop (wich was hitting 100C previously) and it works, but after seeing this I have seen exactly where the danger is. Hopefully, I won´t have to see anything like that ever.

balls for gddr are standard 0.45, guys who reball them know what they are doing and you can clean pads without fear. But extremely gently as traces underneath chips can be easily destroyed, solder mask removed and (at least to me) that can become impossible to fix.
