You've found the right channel to learn laptop repairs, sir. Sorin is among the top 2 on YT in my opinion. The other one is Laptex. Have a look at their channel. Most of their videos are in Hindi but still there's handful of English videos which I found very helpful. I don't have any affiliation with their channel. i cant believe your skills with the soldering of high pin count ic's .. ive seen others remove the ICs and clean the pads and apply solder to those pads and then try to solder it .. ive never seen you use extra solder .. and as much as ive seen your videos (and i ve seen many .. most ) youve had a perfectly soldered IC every time .. this super IO was an odd one .. and even though twice or thrice .. it moved from its place .. it was soldered perfectly.... my salute to you sir ... ive learnt a lot from your channel .. and to think .. im not even in to the repair business .. i used to assemble and deal in computers long long back 1994 to 1997 (fresh out of college) so thats a long time back .. but thank you i watch almost all your videos

@Sorin, easy way to check SOC (system on chip) (CPU) test data pins of USB ports if one data pin is shorted cpu is dead takes 2min to diagnose, saves time
@@awetaiwo9551 SOC is CPU and PCH rolled into one chip, if the data pins are shorted it means that the SOC is dead as the USB ports are connected strait to the SOC
You are like the friend i wish i had, ive learned so much watching your videos and now i only ever fail if parts cant be purchased/mixed or swaped. Also the obvious damage inbetween layers. I use a rework station for small stuff and a old counter stove 200c for reflows works like a dream :D and old style solder irons for stubborn places 🙂

Most of the time the difficult job to fix is missing voltage, you're lucky sorin because you have 2 pc's extra board to get a SIO ,if you don't have a same board or SIO, you can't fix that! BTW is a nice video and great idea, thanks man

hi sorin. on battery the coils will not gen voltage.the chip releases a 100ma low output to the super io .and after the power button is triggered the mail 3v & 5v will get power love from sl

I ask why did the customer made it so difficult by not sending the charger ! Also whoever sent this does know an awful lot about these laptops to have two other motherboards ? Well done you for sorting it out. I lost track of the motherboards early on, would have been useful if they were marked then A,B & C or something. Thank you Sorin.

Hello Sorin! Love you videos. Could i possibly have information of your shop? I would sent a board in for Diagnosis and repair. Lenovo yoga 910 motherboard. Charging issues and the inductor gets really hot. I am a bit lost on the repair. I also have an extra board for parts.
How could I send my PC??? My HP G4 Pavilion 2205la once decided to only send power to the cooling base, until it drained the battery, after that i changed the power button chip, it still doesn't react at all ( i noticed the LEDs chip is broken) i prompt the 2 power pins and it doesn't turn on.... I'm trying to see if I could get this fixed all thoe i don't even know how to send it to Master
Can this cause GPU and CPU to heat also when plugged in on adapter? As soon as i plug in 3seconds and GPU is 40°C (no heatsink). How is CPU and GPU power controlled? Something is pushing amps..

I always get laptops with shorted cpu or gpu, never had with shorted capacitor. As i said shorted cpu, gpu or first mosfet. If is gpu shorted u can bypass.
Can anyone point me the direction of fixing my laptop ? I have replaced the Thermal Paste on it and accidentally blew my Screen Backlight Fuse off. After finding the blown fuse and removed it + short the circuit to see if the issue is still there... the screen is working fine... but now the Battery does not charge anymore. The laptop seems to be working fine only when plugged in ... but dies immediatelly when I disconnect the charger... which means that the battery is not charging. I have removed the battery and tried it out in my new laptop (they both have the same battery model) ... I have charged the battery ... but when I try now to connect the charger... the charger's protection kicks off and cutts the charging power. I have tested the battery from my new laptop as well... and the charger cutts of the power as soon as I plug it in. Any advice on where should I start ? Thanks in advance

USB 2.0 has 4pins (VCC) (D-) (D+) (GND) Test D- & D+ to ground you can do the same with USB 3.0, the (PCH) is build into the GPU
