- Pride celebrations have been popping up all over the country during the month of June-commemorating the fight for LGBTQ+ equality. In their own words, parents of LGBTQ+ kids and adults tell “CBS This Morning” about their own acceptance journeys and why they are proud of their children.

Parading around these silly men dressed as women is likely to actually create intolerance in rational people who are just tired of hearing about peoples' genitals all the time.
I used to be a real tomboy, and dressed like a boy. Refused to wear any dresses. Many thought I was a boy. I loved to play what boys played. So thankful I wasn’t born in these days and age with all this weird stuff going on. I eventually grew up to be normal teenage girls. Just let kids be kids…

Listen, I am gay, but I think we should not teach them about sexuality in a very young age. This will confuse a lot of the little ones, it's best for them to figure out themselves when they're in their teens or adulthood.

You know...Homeschooling might be the best choice. Discrimination and Bullying against lgbtq+ students keeps increasing. Recently, in Oklahoma, a nonbinary highschool sophomore was beaten to death by a group of bullies and the school didn't even call an ambulance. If I ever decide to have kids and they turn out to be lgbt, I don't want them to deal with that. Not to mention school shootings becoming more common. So yeah. I'm with you. Let's homeschool kids.

Not being against lgbtq or anything but i dont really understand how you can just tell someone their orientation. Like kids at that age dont even know very much about puberty and what sexual orientation is and you are saying that that child is lgbtq even tho they dont really know what that is. Also the speak for yourself rule really shows here as you cannot say or tell someone their orientation especially at that age. If the child later in life says they are lgbtq then sure but if they dont say it then i dont believe they are.
Sexual orientation and gender identity are not synonymous. Sexual orientation is your sexual preference. Gender identity is what identify as. Like caitlyn Jenner identifies as a trans woman, but still prefers women as sexual partners. I know confusing af. But I don’t think kids should be exposed to this until they come to the parent with questions.
Let children express themselves however they please. Let kids be happy

Kids decide for themselves, it is not coming from the parents. They said they were taken by surprise but they have unconditional love. It's a lesson.
Anyone that is a part of the lgbqt community should be furious about this kind of thing. Stuff like this sets the movement back significantly and turns alliances into enemies. Pushing this agenda of child abusing behavior under the lgqbt flag puts all in the community into one group who from the outside seems to support it as a whole. While this is not anywhere near the case, the backlash is effecting the community as a whole.
It already has effected the community.
Almost all female & lesbian festivals/events, bars, and theater has been cancelled or violently shut down. ..Look what it has done to women’s rights. Lesbian activists were the gate-keepers of women’s sex-based rights (no more lesbian community = all women lose their rights). People see gay parents and they think that we want to force surgeries on our kids because “anything gay is part of the trans agenda”. Gender-correction is the new gay.
People are ripping the “love is love” stickers from their bumpers.
Most straight people do not understand that gays do not support this. They think we are trying to dismantle anything safe and “family-friendly”.

I felt like they are still too young to understand the whole LGBTQ+. I think it's for the best for them to enjoy life as kids until they grow old enough to understand identity politics.

Not only for straight people but in general people celebrate events max for 3 days, this pride lgbtq celebrates for 1 month and for what?? 1:30 is actually a great example of how parents should respond if their kid takes an interest in things for the "opposite" gender. She doesn't label him as "trans" and admits that he is still just a male who likes feminine things.

As a young boy, I had my stepsister barbie doll and my GI Joe doll and played with them all the time. People forget you can play with a doll and not identify with it lol. I liked the barbie doll because I thought girls were beautiful, I didn't think I was a girl haha.

Children can’t comprehend sex and gender and gay and lesbian until they are much much older. This child has been secretly fed information that has poisoned his mind. So sad that the mother is letting this happen and doing this to her son. What happens when he gets to highschool college etc. so sad
Also when you are teen, you have such big changes in your body that someone like lgbtq can easily brain wash you to change gender since you don't understand what is happening with you, and after you are big enough you might realize that its not actually what you wanted to become or do.
They might not comprehend sex, but kids are not dumb. They have a very basic surface level understanding of love and attraction. The SFW version. They comprehend crushes for instance. They see it in Disney when a pretty princess kisses a handsome prince. They know that men like women, boys like girls and vice versa. And they know their parents are attracted to each other. But I'm sure you don't tell little kids what mommy and daddy do in bed together. Just apply that same logic to gay people. You don't even need to talk about sex. You don't even need to explicitly say people are gay or lesbian. Telling them something simple like *"some boys like boys and some girls like girls"* and leaving it as that isn't going to "poison" their minds. Don't explain the more graphic stuff until they reach the age where you and your child are ready to have "the talk".
Also, kids do understand gender. They must given how we assign it to them by the time they're born and society forces them to conform to gender roles and expectations. "Don't do that, don't play with that! That's for boys." "Don't wear what, don't play with dolls! Those re for girls" "Boys don't cry".

Luckily it was before all these idiots online started making a commodity and a business model out of gender dysphoria and the trans woman I met at the local queer shelter advised me to just keep my lip tied on it until he brought it up and he never did and it stopped and it went away and he still has The ability to reproduce in adulthood.

@@enea4051 I didn't say they shouldn't know or be allowed to know what the lgbt community is, I said that the children 12 and under are too young to make the decision of being a trans person. MOST states have laws where a young person has to be 14 to 18 to start hormone therapy. A 6 year old should not be allowed to be a transsexual because they don't have a full grasp on the concept.

It’s not like this stuff is non chalant, it’s pressured into everything, and they want elementary kids to learn about se*uality in the THIRD GRADE. In the third grade they haven’t even gone through puberty, most haven’t even had there first crush yet, they still think of things like cooties. Their minds are innocent they shouldn’t be tainted so young. That’s what I’m referring to children being subjected to things that isn’t even relevant in their lives at that time. Like the kids should be worried about what game they are gonna play at recess and if they have homework that day, not sexual feelings, because that’s what that ends up leading to.
