Bernth Brodträger hello! When are you going to add more skype lessons slots?
@@bokercontinuo Hey Mario, at the moment I can only work with a small amount of students every month to keep the quality standards (I don't want to constantly cancel or reschedule, that goes against my quality standards) - as soon as I can add more slots I'll post about it 🤘🏻 Thanks a lot for being patient :)
Always love the way u talk n teach music, keep going brother
Will do, happy you enjoy the content! :)
@@Bernthguitar Always going to love Bernth. He is an equivalent of a god to me
I really liked that this time you included the full example at the beginning and at the end. Really helps with understanding this stuff when you first introduce the topic with the example, dissect it and then revisit it with the new knowledge.
as a drummer of 30+ years now playing guitar with a focused goal of writing my own songs, I'd like to say your lessons are eye opening , inspiring and really helping me create better music. thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing that Aaron! I'm sure you got some great rhythm from all those years of drumming experience :)
AWESOME! Yes, more please! 😁 Incredible what those open strings do to those traditional power chords. Fantastic stuff all around🤘
I'm really into music theory. I always look at certain things when writing. Writing a clean sounding song is easy. I struggle with the metal side of things. I can usually come up with two chords that sound awesome but if I want more it just sounds boring to me.
Same with me, with my music theory knowledge i always come up with jazzy sound and every time i try to create heavier staff i cant think of anything but boring power chords
That was a fantastic lesson and very clearly explained. You are a gifted teacher sir! Also, that riff was sick!
Hi Bernth, I got your notification 2minutes when it was posted, I was just setting down to practice guitat right at the same time! WOW! Very nice fiff its got some meat on the bone. That F#dim7 sound good to me, and then in the way you slide it, cool.
I've often wounderd how to compose songs with the right chord to use what lead can be plated over it, using chord that are in the same key, and scales. Some things I know, a lot I don't, Im afraid when it comes to music theory and composeing songs! For me sometime I don't get it at first, but to see it in action help it to all makes sense. Maybe one day it will all make sense!
I understand what you said about tension and release with chord progressions, I hear it a lot in music, but I'm not sure what you mean by cadences, so I'll look it up! You also said stable harmonic environment, that term is new to me too.
For theory there is still some thing I don't know, but like I said It's good to see it working in a real world example, for me It's still a work in progress!
Thank You Bernth for another great lesson.
Take care, stay clean, and stay safe!
Todd P./USA
Cool idea! I've been watching lead guitar videos forever, and its refreshing to watch something on rhythm/or with music theory combined too. I'd say make another one like this in the future.
This just helped me out tremendously. I have some books on theory, but it's written in text book language. The way you explained this made it so much easier to understand. Much thanks sir. I will subscribe a will be returning.
awesome vids man! Thanks for helping me step up my game!
This is my favorite guitar lesson I've ever found. I really hope we see more.
Great video! You’re a solid teacher, thank you...
You really do make this easy to understand. Also your practical examples make it a lot more fun and relatable.
seriously you are amazing.keep it up bro.
Even though those paticular type of power chords are more commonly referred to as 'inverted power chords', the way I personally refer to them are as 'power 4ths', even though again, it's more promulgated to consider them as 5th's or 'inverted 5ths', as opposed to perfect 4ths like I do. I'm not entirely sure what's more accurate, but I suppose it's just like the majority of (musical) theoretical naming conventions; it's all contextual.
Err... inverted power chords are minor 3rds
Dude, your tutorials and videos are ALWAYS packed with great examples and information. I have been playing for some time now, and I decided it was time to take some of my skills to the next level and man I have learned more here in six months than I have learned in the last decade. Thanks for what you do! ~Rich
That diminished chord in context sounds so fucking good
Brother you make the theory so simple...Love from India 🇮🇳
Please!, make more videos like this one, giving more examples or ideas that aren't common and teachers do not teach, usually... Nice video!
Very interesting! I love metal and am also trying to learn more about music theory to compose my own pieces. I'd love to see more videos like this.
Yes please continue this series 🙏
Continue? Yes please, by any means, this is pure gold! One kind request, though - please turn the gain down somewhat when discussing complex chords. It‘s perfectly fine during playthrough / in context, but kinda taxing on the ear when you keep ´em ringing out. Thx & keep up the great work, for once RUclips recommendations suggested me a channel that is actually useful 😀.
Sensacional Bernth super aula, muito obrigado, por compartilhar seu conhecimento conosco. Valeu Abraço
Thank so much Bernth! You always make awesome lessons !
Yes, please continue with this series 👍
Yay! Very good lesson. One that I could actually keep up with! As some of your lessons are way too technical! For me anyway. This was something always try to do in my songs but I didn't really understand what I was doing. I was just throwing in interesting chords here and there. But now I know how to make any chord sound interesting. So thank you.
*Big thanks for this video!*
damn ive never had finding chords from scales brokin down that easy thank you!!!!! im going to grab my guitar right now! but not before i hit that sub!!!!
That guitar is beautiful! Very good lesson as well.
this lesson is pure gold, vielen Dank !
The Bm arpeggio always makes me think of that song Kryptonite :P
Thanks for sharing your knowledge my good man. It is appreciated.
your fret board is so cool . it made me think of "Piggy" from the band Voivod.
Thank you
Thank you very much for teaching.
Great vid, definitely very useful information here. 🤘
As usual a great lesson. and yes please more theory!!!!!
Keep 'em coming. This was great
Yes keep this up. I just joined your Patreon too thanks to this topic.
Welcome Clint and thank you very much for supporting the channel! :)
awesome video, keep sending more examples.
That's some addictive shit right there!
The inlays on your guitar are fucking cool
super episode, vielen dank!! bitte bitte weitermachen :-)
You are the best 👍
Really good. Plz keep going.
I have become your fan sir. Do not feel stuck anymore :)
My fav teacher
Keep it up! That was really helpfull🤘
Would like to see a tuneing vid bro
Stacked chords are awesome
Hi Bernth. Thanks so much for this video. One question: I'm writing a song in the key of E minor and I came with a progression chord that goes in this way: E minor, C major, G major and D major. Is that a good progression chord? Thank you again for the video
Hey, thanks for sharing that! Yes, it's a very popular cadence: i - VI - III - VII :) Great starting point for any composition!
@@Bernthguitar ok, thanks again 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🎸🎸🎸
Thanks so much good video.
Happy you enjoyed that one Shane 🤘🏻
I love that guitar
Yes ! Like it
Please continue
this was great!
Good stuff
You are amazing!!!!!!!
Hi Bernth, did you use the G chord or did I miss something? And what is the name of the chord you slid to is that the G? I maybe wrong, but I thought the root notes are marked in red, right! Once you used the F#dim7 and made a slid, the second time you didn't slid! Please if you get this please reply.
Thanks
Todd P./USA
Hey Todd, the root notes are always white :) So when I'm playing G as the lowest note on the third fret of the low E string here it's actually a C power chord, G is the perfect fifth and added on the bottom too! Remember that the lowest note does not always have to be the root note of the chord, that can be a bit misleading sometimes. And yes, I changed up the phrasing for the second repetition by not sliding up to another diminished voicing - that makes it a bit more interesting in my opinion :)
@@Bernthguitar Hi Bernth, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question! So the roots are in white, okay. You said that the root is not always on the lower strings, yes I think I see that now, would that be like the scale, it depends on where you start building the chord with in the scale, and the invertions, would that be right?
Okay, I think I understand.
Again, thank you for taking time to answer my question!
Your the best!
See you in the next video.
Todd P./USA
yeah bro! the best teacher ;)
Finally video released
4 more coming this week! :)
@@Bernthguitar ok bro 🙂
Hey Man, What if you write songs with you're Guitar down tuned to C#- How would it be structured then?
Cool video.
Interesting! Wish I could absorb faster.
What model Ibanez guitar is this one, it's psychotic
Epic! \m/
Your sound is friggin badass. Do you have an album???
You are awesome
What software do you use for drums?
Bernth
Can you use the same system with another minor mode harmonic Minor phyrigian etc
Bill
Hey Bill, absolutely! Please try it for harmonic minor, you will love the results :)
@@Bernthguitar harmonic minor is epic,
i also made a cool power metal riff with it
I've been stuck for a long time in the boring riff arena, are there any books with a similar direction as you are guiding us here that you would recommend for drop D standard/drop C 6 string tuning?
I know it is a lot of work to learn, and many would quit, but I am just stubborn enough to want the challenge, I just need the proper context!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Useful ideas that becames in music. Please, when you come to Brazil be in touch.......
❤❤❤❤❤
I can just unsubscribe to all the other channels, because I have the best channel right here!!
Really wanna know why some progressions sound better than others
That guitar! What is it?
where in Germany are you from? My family is in Saarland and Frankfurt! Next time I visit my mom I wanna catch a show.
🔥
Wow, metal!
I WANT YOU TO BE MY TEACHER BERNTH!
LOVE YOU MAN!
I came here because I accidentally taught myself jazz
My riffs aren't boring
They're difficult to replicate in another days
Please
I can’t come up with finger style riffs for the life of me.
like hotel california, or nothing else matters, or time in a bottle
Metti i sottotitoli in italiano
every metal guitarist knows e minor
unless they tune down then it becomes eb minor
tuning too high
