once i in a while I watch this movie , 2 hours of fantastic cinema. It's one of my favorite movies, a glass of scotch, few cigarettes. and when its over, sit dazzled on the couch and watch these fantastic ending credits.... amazing.
My friends didnt like it. "Boring and predictable" they said. I went on and on about camera angles and stillness to develop tension etc. A wasted effort UNLESS one truly loves cinema. Most dont really understand what they see.
I got into a taxi late at night in Krakow, Poland and the elderly driver played this for me as we drove through the old city at night. I felt like I was in a film. It was wonderful
@@janetlieb2507 Thanks. Your comment reminded me of it so I'm listening again. I forget how good music is for accompanying emotions. Today is the 47th year since my 6 day old baby son died. So now I shall make a list of music to accompany grief.
I'm not a great fan of opera, but I find myself coming to listen this song every now and then. The way she uses her voice almost like an instrument is just amazing and beautiful.
Our vocal cords are instruments; we just don't see them that way. I understand what you mean though; when used correctly, the human vocal cords are the most beautiful instrument there is. That's what I love about classical singing.
Beautiful, ethereal and sublime, I was a child when this film captured me with its mystique and mystery, one day I will visit that Cathar castle in France and I will seek to open my ninth gate.
Angelic to some degree but having stood face to face with an Angel in may of 1994 I assure you the effect of an Angel would effect every atom of your being.
Biiiiiitch, hell yeah (haha). This is one of my all time favourite films PURELY because the end credit song elevated the entire experience. THAT is how cinema is done
One of my favorite. I watch it once in a while, maybe twice a year or so. Everything is done right. The actors, the plot, everything. It's perfectly executed. My interest in Occult also contributes a bit.

@@chefjaike - This piece instantly reminded me of one of my all-time favorite literature characters: Erik, the Phantom of the Opera (the book). I have a special attachment to both him and the man who first embodied him physically in a relatable way, both as a tragic and broken figure; Mr. Michael Crawford. I envision this as if a sort of entrance to Hell has opened.....yet it's deceiving because you are drawn to it due to this sound/song. You had been drawn to it from miles away. From this powerful...beautiful...mesmerizing! sound....voice....song literally roaring, bellowing into the sky coming from it's entrance. You are unsure and almost terrified. But this very song draws you to it due to it's indescribable beauty and you just can't escape it and want to keep going closer to it. You could even see the flames in it's entrance. But yet you still go towards it even though in your gut you know you shouldn't. But just as soon as that feeling has come across you it's already too late as you approach it's steps. The bellowing of this song would be even stronger to further seal your fate even as you see the flames of the entrance atop the stairs. Like a moth to the flame your fate would be sealed by this beautiful, mesmerizing song having drawn you in to be consumed.....~Thy flesh consumed~
This musical piece demands a certain amount of faith to understand it. If you are not carful you will feel her lulling voice pulling at your mind often to listen over and over again. Roman Polanski is a lot of things, stupid is not one of them. :Peace~
