This just spoke to my heart ❤️ I so seldom hear a woman or man say they want to be a stay-at-home parent. When I was home with mine, I knew I was fortunate; it was a decision we made and we worked hard to make it work. I know not all parents want to do that or can. I love how Molly and Robert are “attached parents”. The first my husband and I were both away from our children overnight, they were teenagers! Anyway, thank you both for such a lovely interview!! I’ve been following Molly for ages 💗
I think Molly can do it all, because she is so calm. It’s awesome to have such an wonderful 4 generation family relationship. Thank you Kristy, for an incredible interview.
I have been waiting for this interview for soooo long! Love Molly, she is so talented and work so hard! This is one of the interviews that I will be watching over and over again!
Loved this interview! I am from Rockford Illinois and spent many summer days at Lake Mills...Not too far from Cambridge! First watched a Homespun House Vlogs and am now a regular. Hope to see you at Stitches Molly! Kristy keep up the awesome work...I am loving all the knitting connections you bring to us.
Kristy! This was such a great interview. Touring the dye studio was the BEST! Thank you for all of the hard work you do -- you're connecting and strengthening the fiber community in wonderful ways.
Isn't Molly and her family beautiful?! I love that she appreciates her family, the past, and being in the present. Personally, I appreciate that she relates to so many. This was a really good one.
Love this episode! Thanks for all the sweet details Molly about your life! I do follow your podcasts. Kristy this was so fun! Thank you. Love your podcasts!
This was a game changer, I’m also a vegan and I struggle with purchasing wool yarn. I’m glad to know she checks the origin of the yarn. I hadn’t considered purchasing yarn from her, until now.
Yay! I've been waiting for this interview to drop :) And I totally noticed the not smiling thing when I was in Germany a few weeks ago, such a stark contrast from living in the midwest. People would always stare you down and not smile when we walked around the streets, so different! Loved the episode Kristy! Thanks for taking the time to do this interview, so much to watch and learn from :)
This is hands down one of my favorite I interviews! I absolutely love Molly and everything about her. We are kindred spirits for sure. Thank you for including the questions about being a vegan and using wool! I am also a Minimalist Baker loving, wool slinging vegan! 🌱😎✌🏻 Thank you so much, Kristy and Molly! This is why I am a patreon! 💚💚💚
This was fun to watch. I am from Eau Claire, Wis and my husband of 48 years is from Watertown, Wis. We know Cambridge and it is a great place to raise kids. Now, I need to check out the Homespun House site and buy yarn. Kristy, you are a PYE!!
Absolutely loved watching this interview 😍💗 Molly you have such a lovely relaxed vibe which I really like. Your dye studio is awesome and I’m just about to go watch your next video of you both 😍
I loved Molly before but this took it to another level! Enjoy the Vlogmas and seeing Robert. Will look for you at Stitches this year. Keep up the great work and thanks Kristi for one of the best interviews so far.
Please don't be sad, you did something beautiful. The judge is just a person with an opinion, you listen to it, process it, use what's helpful to your work in the future...then you enjoy the beautiful thing you've made and listen to all of us who love it.
I seriously loved this interview. I will be checking out her podcast too. I already checked her website. Loved it. Your clock sounds like it has a dove in it. Kristy, you seemed so relaxed in this interview, and you were really just speaking with her...like you are friends or something. :-) I think her "secret vampire" should be called "Christmas Cactus"!
What a great interview! I have watched Homespun House since Ruby was born( how many years ? ). Now I want to buy some yarn since it doesn't have to come so far!
I too met my husband because of his dancing. Not because he was the best dancer on the floor but because he was clearly the worst. I saw him and thought "wow I'm so embarrassed for you" while he was doing his old man moves. But then I thought he clearly doesn't care what other people think and he's out there having fun. So I started talking to him....and that was 21 years ago.
I found you because of your vlogs in December. Even my husband enjoyed watching you and your husband. LOL I always wanted to be a stay at home mom too at an early age and was able to do so. I was pescatarian for a few years then vegan for a couple but I'm very highly anemic I couldn't continue. I mean I can't just take iron I have to go to the hospital to get it by IV. I still don't eat meat but once a week if that but my family does. Anyway I loved this video!
Aww, I called my daughter “my little heater” too since she loved to snuggle & sleep in my bed when she was young...and she had a fascination with holding people’s earlobes (family)🤔 She would say it was because they were cold, but who knows. She’s 20 now and sometimes I miss her little self; they grow up too fast.
I loved this interview, especially since I live in Madison and now have the opportunity to see more of Molly's yarn!!I was wondering WHY they moved back to the US, was it the German economy?
IT'S MORE FREEING TO BE ABLE TO WALK AWAY FROM YOUR WORK SPACE, NOT HAVING TO IMMEDIATELY CLEAN/PUT EVERYTHING AWAY, NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT EVERYTHING UP OR WORRY ABOUT HAVING YOUR LIVING SPACE OR KITCHEN LOOKING FEELING STRESSFUL BECAUSE OF IT. HELPS YOU BREATHE!!
AT 9 I TAUGHT MYSELF TO KNIT BY WATCHING A KNITTING MACHINE COMMERCIAL & GRANNY FROM 'THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES' & I USED PENCILS & STRING, TAUGHT MYSELF TO SEW & WAS MAKING EVENING GOWNS FOR BARBIE WITH SATIN & VELVET SCRAPS MY GRANDMOTHER HAD & SHE WANTED ME TO SELL THEM IN HER LOCAL OLD SCHOOL STORES (1971/72).
I’ve been watching you since you and your friend started podcasting Molly. Wasn’t her name Claire? I’m so glad to hear she was your best friend I’ve thought all these years you guys had a falling out. I also have one of the first bags you made 😁 Been watching you for long time now.
Don't you think Elodie being 3 months old at that time with Claire is wrong timelime? I think she was 3 years old and then Molly finished school and worked as a teacher for a time. I'm wanting to jump into this conversation and say noooooooo. lol
I'VE TRIED TO START MY GRANDKIDS SEWING BY HAND, JUST SEWING ALONG THE LINE OF A PICTURE, MAKE THEM BLANKETS BY KNIT/CROCHET & TO GET THEM ENTHUSED THAT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY MAK THEIR MIND UP TO DO. I'M LOSING MY SIGHT (Thus The Large Text), SO I'M TEACHING/PRACTICING KNIT, CROCHET & SEW WITHOUT LOOKING. COTTON FROM SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT HAS BLOWN OFF DURING TRIP TO THE GIN & WANT TO LEARN TO SPIN & SUCH ALSO, SO I WILL STILL FEEL PRODUCTIVE AFTER SIGHT IS GONE, MY DAUGHTER SHOWS SIGNS OF THE SAME EYE DISEASE & 1 OF MY 8 GRANDCHILDREN IS BLIND IN 1 EYE & I'D LIKE FOR THEM TO FEEL THEY HAVE MORE OPTIONS THAN OTHERS IMAGINE, CAUSE IN MANY CASES, THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP YOU IS YOU! SO @ LEAST TRY TO BE ALL YOU WANT TO BE & TRY ALL THE THINGS THAT SPARK YOU, FOR YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT UNTIL YOU TRY & NEVER STOP LEARNING (I'm 61 going on 62 & I still have a lot to learn)!! MOST OF ALL, ENJOY!!
British origin. And Canada is part of the Commonwealth so thus influenced. I like hearing the difference from native speakers. I think it became a thing to imitate that pronunciation by a group of American knitting podcasters a few years ago, I won't call them out.
MASSAGE, YOU CAN COME AWAY FEELING BETTER OR FEEL YOU GIT BENEFUT YOURSELF AFTER GIVING A MASSAGE. I WAS SURPRISED TO NOTICE THAT & MY 1ST WAS WHEN I WAS 9, I PUT NY GRANDFATHER ^ UNCLE TO SLEEP OUTSIDE; DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO & JUST WENT INSIDE & WATCGED TV. THEY WERE SUNBURNED WHEN TGE WIVES WENT OUT & WOKE THEM, BUT THEY BEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. 😆
Loved this podcast and interview. This is a new Dyer to me. I will definitely buy from her I will say though, kristy that I thought it come off as a bit rude to you asking about her pronunciation of PROJECT. At least it come across to me in that way. But overall, a fantastic interview and very enjoyable.
I do hope they don’t have any daughters for whom the goal will be being a “stay-at-home Mom”. Yep, just snag yourself a guy who’ll support you, and you’re all set. Which means you might as well leave school at 16 or whatever. Now, the boys.? Why there’s a whole different situation - why they can be doctors, astronauts, IT specialists, etc. Feels like these “gals” are reliving the 50s - OK for them, but please let the children explore their whole world without this baby machine aspiration.
As a woman who grew up with a stay at home mom who was college educated and could have done anything, this made all the difference for me. I think the role of the mother is the most important job in the world and if we had more like Molly the world would be a better place for it.
This just spoke to my heart ❤️ I so seldom hear a woman or man say they want to be a stay-at-home parent. Molly's yarn studio is unbelievable!!! I just want to sit in there and crochet with all of her yarn.😍
I think Molly can do it all, because she is so calm. It’s awesome to have such an wonderful 4 generation family relationship. Thank you Kristy, for an incredible interview.
Great interview...I really enjoyed it!!!
I have been waiting for this interview for soooo long! Love Molly, she is so talented and work so hard! This is one of the interviews that I will be watching over and over again!
44:46 "Why do people keep needing yarn?" This floored me! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love you two!
Another fantastic interview, Kristy! Thank you for all you do! Loved seeing Molly’s studio and hearing about her childhood crafting influences!💗💗💗
Loved this interview! I am from Rockford Illinois and spent many summer days at Lake Mills...Not too far from Cambridge! First watched a Homespun House Vlogs and am now a regular. Hope to see you at Stitches Molly!

This was a game changer, I’m also a vegan and I struggle with purchasing wool yarn. I’m glad to know she checks the origin of the yarn. I hadn’t considered purchasing yarn from her, until now.
Half the reason I go to knitting and craft stores is the community feeling! I totally GET it!!! My family is from Minnesota. I totally get it.
Awesome episode! Molly is so real and down to earth!
Yay! I've been waiting for this interview to drop :)
And I totally noticed the not smiling thing when I was in Germany a few weeks ago, such a stark contrast from living in the midwest. People would always stare you down and not smile when we walked around the streets, so different!

This was worth the wait!!! Loved this interview with Molly 💜
I loved this!! How wonderful is molly!!
Mistreated? If farmers don't shear their sheep and fleece bearing animals they risk blow fly strike. That's cruelty to animals -not shearing them..
And it gets heavy and uncomfortable for them
Yea... there's LOTS Of misinformation out there...
Best interview EVER ❤️ thanks Kristy and Molly
That was a great interview you guys!!
Kristy what is your sweater? Love it , and what yarn did you use ?

Love this episode!
Grandma Sue was way ahead of her time. Looking out for the local artisans. How cool. 🧶🧶🧶
This was a great podcast. Your questions were the ones I would have asked.
“I’m one of those!” So am I 💗

In NZ we say project like Molly lol

So fun!
My youngest daughter touched my neck too!!😂
I'VE TRIED TO START MY GRANDKIDS SEWING BY HAND, JUST SEWING ALONG THE LINE OF A PICTURE, MAKE THEM BLANKETS BY KNIT/CROCHET & TO GET THEM ENTHUSED THAT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY MAK THEIR MIND UP TO DO. Yay for the American pronunciation of "project" lesson. 👌 100 thumbs up always wondered what was up with that!
Don’t you feel that it’s mostly Canadian folks who pronounce “prō-ject?” I love hearing the differences anyway!
British origin. And Canada is part of the Commonwealth so thus influenced. I like hearing the difference from native speakers. I think it became a thing to imitate that pronunciation by a group of American knitting podcasters a few years ago, I won't call them out.
the cuckoooooo clock!!! I have a German one tooooooo!!!
APPARENTLY THE BLACK SCREEN HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE AD!

BLANK SCREEN!!
The long 'o' in project is very much a Canadian thing... .
How incredibly vacuous. How very mid America.
Oooops...a word of warning for those boys. Be careful...some of those aspiring stay at home Moms might just want your financial support forever.
I do hope they don’t have any daughters for whom the goal will be being a “stay-at-home Mom”. Yep, just snag yourself a guy who’ll support you, and you’re all set.
