To help quickly release all cutouts with minimal work grab 4 dryer sheets fold in half put die with cut out that you just ran through with paper stuck inside ..place face down on dryer sheets run through a second time and all paper plus pieces come off on dryer sheet…no more poking with tool…how nice
I've been looking for a side-by-side comparison of these two machines. This was so VERY helpful! I really appreciate your unbiased video. Thank you so, so much. Wishing you all the best. xo
I have the old Vintaj Big Shot hand crank machine and the Gemini Jr. the Vintaj does the thick dies, Jr does the rest. The Vagabond is too bulky to have in my craft room along with the other stuff. But thanks for showing it in action!!
great demo. I received from my D-in laww and my son both machines I am going crazy trying to see the better for me to use. , now I understand .but I did not like the plastic from Gemini to loosed his shape inmediately...
Get em both. Lol. I currently have a Gemini and a Big Shot Plus. The BSP is bulky and annoying to store, annoying to pull out, and annoying to crank. I adore the Gemini, it's never let me down. I've been thinking about the Vagabond for its easy storage and power. Still on the fence, it would replace the BSP but has a smaller platform... though if I'm only using for steel rule dies and movers and shapers, I guess that won't really matter much. Great video... still torn... though I know I'll never get rid of my Gemini.
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL!! Thanks SOO MUCH for walking us through both... and now.. I just added GEMINI to my list..I can see benefits of both.. just LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
Awe..Thank you Lorinda! Love my Tim Holtz Vagabond by Sizzix but the Gemini by Crafters Companion rocks for intricate dies...wait till you see the 3D embossing. Blessings, Tammy
Wow! That’s great you were able to buy BOTH and thank you for making the comparison. While I wanted to watch a video comparing Vagabond2 and Gemini, I’m glad I watched your video and heard your opinion on using the first vagabond because now that the 2nd one is out I may be able to get the first one a little cheaper. But I had no idea how the Gemini worked, so I’m really glad to hear this comparison. Have you ever had anything get stuck in either one? Thank you so much for your opinion and showing us!
Hey !! Look who's here !!! I can't believe I find you in this comment section ! What was the probability ??? Incredible !! Do you think it's a sign ? Crazy thing !! Love you Erna ! Mwah (kiss sound !) from France, Mimi
Thank you! I am brand new to this and couldn't decide which to get. Now I see I probably will need both, lol. But overall, bigger platform and doing more detailed dies for the Gemini, and being able to do the thicker dies in the Vagabond is what I took away from this and I really appreciate your review. :)
Hello D., I am a Tim Holtz fan and I love Sara Davies "Crafters Companion. I do think that the Gemini has more pressure. Thanks for watching, have a blessed day.
Thank you so much. I am sad I purchased the Gemini Jr not knowing the limited size of cutting surface. Although I have been very pleased with the machine, I recently ordered tonic studio die that is very large. I'm not sure what machine will cut it. What do I do with my other machines when it's time to upgrade?. I'm so very excited to embark on this die cutting journey thank you so much for all your help.
I would have purchased the precision place for the Vagabond rather than a new expensive machine and the knock knock and squishy for the embossing feature. Much cheaper than a Gemini.
Hello Margassw, if the paper and die is not placed on the cutting plate at a horizontal angle then the result will be not cutting out in all places. A speed bump is when the die is horizontal with the roller on the machine. Thank you for watching. Blessings, Tammy
I have both die cutters and I enjoy both of them. But how do you die cut out a stamped image with the Gemini? I can’t place the die face down or it will cut the magnetic sheet.
Hello Carmela, Stamp the image place die over the stamped image apply a little painter tape to hold die in place and then place onto the magnetic sheet with BALDE ALWAYS FACING UP TOWARDS CUTTING PLATE never blade side down onto the magnetic sheet. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Have a blessed day.
I agree, mostly, with the answer you got. If your painters tape lifts part of your paper, the 3m micropore tape is AWESOME for this! I saw a video where Jennifer Mcguire reccomended the micropore tape, and I have been THRILLED with it!
Hello Karen, the Gemini is featured. I do not own the Jr. My primary reason is the larger platform is a game changer for me. Sorry, i couldn't be more helpful. Thanks for watching, have a blessed day.

Sizzix makes a Chrome Precision Base Plate for intricate dies. You use it in place of the bottom plate. It works great!
A precision plate would help. I always use the precision plate with intricate dies.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have them both, too. I love them!

Thank you, how awesome to have an electronic die cut machine. New subbie here.💕
Get em both. Lol.

Why didn't you use the precision plate for the intricate die rather than the magnetic plate - just curious?

Thank you! I have both machines too and now I know that I need both and don't feel so guilty for having them!
Hello Erna, Have fun... Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day, Tammy

I do think it's a sign. Have A great day, sweet Mimi.❤

I didn’t like the Gemini jr. , I sold mine on eBay . Bought the Vagabond 2 by Sizzix and it works flawlessly .
Wow, I needed this video today. Thanks!
I do own an old electric BigShot and both Gemini big and Jr.
I use them Both depending on what I am cutting.
I like that solution!! I'm taking your advice and getting them both ! :)
Thank you for the awesome comparison! I have a vagabond and a fabulous friend with the gemini jr.
Hello. Thanks for the review. I also have both machines. It looks Like you may have overlooked inserting the second clear plate with the vagabond.
Hello Dana, your welcome. Yikes, i checked the video and you can see the second plate at the 2:11. Thanks for watching. Take care, Tammy
I would have purchased the precision place for the Vagabond rather than a new expensive machine and the knock knock and squishy for the embossing feature. Much cheaper than a Gemini.
I agree I love both of mine and use them for different things.
Thank you for this ! There is one little thing i didn't understand though, it's the angle thing. And I'm French so, that's why I didn't get it ! 😆

I have both also! Plus, I just got Anna Griffin’s.

Can anybody say where they bought theirs and how much?
Hello the Gemini from Hsn and vagabond from Archivers no longer in business...”shows you what a work horse the Vagabond is. Have a blessed day.
Different applications 🤗
Thank you.
Thanks for watching. Take care
Put an exstra paper behind the die... 😘
Is that the Gemini or Gemini Jr.? What do you know about the difference between the Gemini and the Gemini Jr?
Hello Karen, the Gemini is featured. I do not own the Jr. My primary reason is the larger platform is a game changer for me. Sorry, i couldn't be more helpful. Thanks for watching, have a blessed day.
Glad my Gemini wasn’t delivered before the earthquake hit
JUST SUBBED.
