Am gonna wait for the Fusion GoPro made, just to make sure. How ever Mi sphere 360. Looks amazing regardless . Thanks for your detailed video. Very enjoyable
Great video Ben! When I compared my cams in low light, I reached the same conclusion - the Theta had the best image quality in low light. I think it's because the low resolution, combined with the fact that they all have the same sensor size, means it has the largest pixel size. Best regards, Mic
Hi, I'm from Mexico, and I want to buy a 360 camera, so I'm undecided between get the gear 360 2016 or the 2017, which would you recommend me to buy if I just want to take photos? By the way I really like your videos.
+David Carreón Martínez If the only thing you care about is photo quality then the 2016 will probably better for you than the 2017 as it has double the photo resolution. The 2016 outputs 30mp photos vs only 15mp for the 2017. You can see a side by side comparison of the photo output from the two samsung 360's on this page; www.threesixtycameras.com/360-videophoto-comparison-new-gear-360-2017-vs-original-gear-360/
Nice video 😀 thanks! I've researching 360' for a wee while trying to decide on a good camera for on-off shots here and there (mostly mountains) so comparisons like this are really handy. If the magicsee P3 ends up on your desk (you should be flooded with freebies!) I'd be keen to see your thoughts. It certainly looks interesting at the price point.
I hope you might answer me some quiestions about the "Xiaomi Mijia Mi Sphere": 1. Are those view-modes in the app ("Mirror ball", "Little planet", "Flat" and especially "Pano") also available in the live-view? 2. Is it only possible to connect the camera for live-view with WIFI or also with a USB-cable? (because of the question "3." about the live-view resolution and lag) 3. What are the resolution (e.g. 1080p?) and the lag (e.g. 500ms?) in the live-view? (not of the saved footage, I know this is 3.5K) 4. I'd like to use this cam for a university-project. Therefore I would need to be able to connect this camera with my smartphone (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S6) in a VR-goggle (e.g. Samsung Gear VR) to see the live-view in the "Pano-mode" on my smartphone. Is there a possibility to achieve this?
Hi , i am a subscriber on youtube !! First of all let me say that your videos are what made me think of getting a 360 camera........ The problem i have is that i am not yet convinced i just ask from you some sort of video with the great things that 360 photos and videos can bring to your trips and activities!! I would really apreciate a good top ten!! i messaged you on twitter and instagram but you did not respond so im posting here 😀
+Dj Gelo Official hey buddy- sorry I don't always check my twitter messages. Glad you like my videos and I will certainly consider making this video 👌🏻
+nicekit hey, nah all 360 cameras have different workflows with their individual apps, but they're basically all the same in terms of import>stitch>edit 👍
Good review overall. One question though. A couple of weeks ago when you did the comparison between the Samsung Gear 360 2016 vs the 2017 you concluded that the newer camera performed better in low light. Now you say it's the opposite, that the 2016 is better in low light. So the obvious question is, which conclusion is right?
+Tadgh Smith thanks- and no I didn't conclude that, I said in the example I used, the 2017 had less noise than the 2016 and when graded they looked similar. Honestly I think this video quite conclusively answers that question, and is a much better comparison since I take both cameras into a few different low light environments instead of just one.
Well whether you made a firm conclusion or not, I think most people would agree that in your first comparison video you got a clearer, less grainy low light image out of the 2017 after grading than out of the 2016. So I suppose what I'd like to know is did you grade the footage differently for this current video, or is the footage ungraded and straight out of camera?
Ok thanks. That's important information to know. It means that for those willing to take the time to tweak their footage, the 2017 may have a bit of extra headroom for pulling details out of the shadow areas, as compared to the 2016.
+DDF GhostHunting not sure- I've never really tried single lens recording.. the only thing I can think of is a faulty/slow card may be causing pixelation
+jintat87 I can only compare the cameras I own and the GoPro is still many months from release.. no-one knows anything about it yet other than resolution and design

+Stephen Abraham thanks! And nope, that would be way too much work and I ain't got time lol
LIFE in 360 why is it that sometimes I can't upload a 360 video in 360? Do you run into that problem with RUclips.
Solving Citizen I made a video about this.. have a look through my channel 😎

+360Rumors.com thanks! Yeah interesting point.. I'm keen to see if the Theta 4k continues the awesome dynamic range in spite of this 🤔
Ben, do you have any recommendations for picture and video settings for the Mi Sphere for day shooting and night shooting?
It really depends on your lighting.. it’s best to test this yourself and try out the various manual exposure settings
Great Review mate .. what's Gear Best like to buy from ??never try to order anything from them before . cheers in advance
+Hayden Fluntboy thanks Hayden- I've found GearBest to be excellent.. they shipped my Xiaomi camera to Australia in under a week!

hi ya Ben where did you get your chinese camera from been searching can't find a supplier thanks mate
+Bene C hey- just check the description in all of the videos I've made about it, and you'll find a link to purchase 👍
Can you do light painting with 360 camera?
Yup!
Hey Ben, do you know if it's possible to upload pictures from the Insta360 Air to Google Street View? I couldn't really find that answer so far... :/
+Na Proa da Vida hmmm good question- I’m not sure but it doesn’t have heaps of resolution so I wouldn’t count on it
Hello I am just about to make the jump to 360 and have been looking at the ricoh sc what does it compare like with the s that you had here please
+Bene C sorry I've never used it, and I wouldn't really recommend it either. Get the Xiaomi camera, or wait for the Theta 4k in the coming months 👍
Thankyou for your prompt reply keep the great videos coming as I have a large learning curve ahead ha ha
+Bene C 😎👍

+Marcel Gabriel hi Marcel, I’d suggest watching my review of that camera where I answer all this 👍
What is the app name for Xiaomi Sphere? Can't seem to find it at Google Play store.
+eson paguia it's really hard to find- 360 rumors has it on his blog, and I'll post the link when I post my review soon!

+Tadgh Smith it's all straight out of the camera, except when I mentioned I graded that one Gear 360 2017 shot 👍
Ok thanks. That's important information to know. It means that for those willing to take the time to tweak their footage, the 2017 may have a bit of extra headroom for pulling details out of the shadow areas, as compared to the 2016.
I used my gear 360 2016 with only one cam an when I went to watch the footage it was very pixelated any idea why it was doing that?
+DDF GhostHunting do you mean you recorded a 16:9 video with one lens? Also which Micro SD card are you using?
LIFE in 360 ya just one of the cams an it's the SanDisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 xc1
+DDF GhostHunting not sure- I've never really tried single lens recording.. the only thing I can think of is a faulty/slow card may be causing pixelation
What about kodak sp360 4k?
+Eduardo Colin I can only compare the cameras I own and I don't own that one.. I used to, but the workflow was so long and annoying that I sold it 😂
Beautiful review as always i love my theta s i know is the clear winner 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
+Eduardo Colin 👌🏻💪🏻👊🏻
+Lifein360 thank you for sharing this
+Jeongwoon Eun no problemo!
And GoPro Fusion
+jintat87 I can only compare the cameras I own and the GoPro is still many months from release.. no-one knows anything about it yet other than resolution and design
