These 360 cameras are great! I don't care if the image quality is not super high def. Who cares! What is fantastic is they film in 360! You get every angle, see everything. Great for blogging or recording special events. You can always take a proper 4K camera as well to make sure you have a quality recording. But it's the 360 that makes it special. Image will improve over the coming years. People should just be happy with this technology and what it does rather than bitch it's not HD enough. Because they are all in for a very long wait on super HD on a 360 camera. It will take probably another 10 years for the consumer. So just be happy with what you have. I remember when RUclips started in 2005, I was uploading in 4:3 and shit quality video then came HD, cameras were expensive but now everyone can afford them. I think it took a good 5-6 years from the beginning before RUclips started getting HD uploads back then. My point is, everyone in 2005 was happy with their Potato camera. The Samsung Gear 360 is the best hands down. The photos it can take are stunning. Don't waste your time on the LG unless you can't afford the Samsung.

After your amazing video, i decided to get a Gear 360. Thank you!. I did too a real situation test of Samsung Gear 360's audio & video quality, in my channel. In fact, i liked samsung gear 360. It sound quality is amazing. In that video you can listen to the birds, the airplane crossing the sky, the kaiak paddling the lake's water. It is really good. The image is very clear too. It is better yet, if we use a VR device, just like we are there.. very real sound. But i dont like too much the software Action Director. It could offer more edditing tools.
I've the Samsung 360, great little camera, image quality is very acceptable for what it is and I'm really impressed with the sound quality - great vid btw ;) saying that, I use a 40" LCD tv for my PC screen - I dare say if you were to wath the same video on a phone or tablet it would come out a lot sharper
I don't know why, but I'm on PC watching in 4K on a 4K monitor and they both look super low res. I know you said one is 4K and the other is 2K, but the quality doesn't really look the part. Great video regardless. I always enjoy watching new content from you!

It doesn't look 4k because instead of all the pixles being in one little square on your computer screen (like a regular video) it has to spread all the pixles in a sphere around you. Imagine your 4k monitor cut into pieces and spread around the room. It's a lot more area to cover.
Next time I watch this review I will be wearing the Samsung Gear VR. I noticed a great difference in video quality when I pressed the goggle icon. Hopefully, by now the Gear 360 will have some firm update. Excellent review, thank you

I have a Gear 360 and it is great. Though Gear 360 only has stereo recording, if you will view the raw 360 file in Gear VR, as you look around, it mimics surround sound. If you focus on one area, the audio in that area is focused while background sound is lessened. Also as you turn around you will hear the shifting of sounds, like the sound is passing through your ears left-right or vice versa,
What an awesome video. this reminds me of in store displays showing the difference between their picture and the "other" brand. BTW i like the Gear 360 sounds better in your video. Sounds much more crisp. LG 360 seems muffled in comparison.

The audio on the 360 sounded much better, but not sure about the stitching, the 360 has a line right down the middle of the shot, is this just down to how your had the camera orientated?
I do not know if it's due to the 2K video being stretched to 4K or what, but the LG 360 video looks distorted and has less depth of field, and the fact you're dealing with double the resolution and triple the bandwidth makes the Gear 360 a winner hands down.
At around $140 on eBay for the LG 360 due to the promotion they had, it's not really that hard of a sell for me to get the LG 360 considering it works well enough as a first step into 360 video.
I have gear 360, but I can not edit material for Vegas Pro. Installation is only possible in the program included with the Samsung camera. Do you have any solution for this? I am interested in the installation on a computer not on the phone. I play the material directly from the MicorSD card

Defenitely the Gear 360 in every aspect. The more if you consider that the Gear 360 video can be streamed and viewed LIVE with the Gear VR. I'm at a concert, streaming the video to a live channel and my friend kan watch the concert live with his Gear VR.

I like the idea of turning aroung to go from one cam to the other, it's brilliant. About the bit rate, it sounds like you talk about Mbit/s but the subtitle say MBytes/s

Wow, nice work Zack! The Gear 360 footage was the best looking in my opinion. 1920x1080p monitor and bumped the quality on the video up to 4k

very helpful ,it is easy to find out the different between LG 360 and Gear 360, but why LG 360 is more brightness , sometime is even Overexposure .
