I like the realistic paintjobs most. They're simply complex if you know what I mean

Awesome job. Dont get me wrong but to me thats a different species of sungish not a bluegill lol its missing some elements (colors and patterns) to be a bluegill. Bliegill is named because of the variations of blue (lines and spots mostly) on their gills. They have hues of purple, green and sometimes blue on their bodies too. This remindes me of a longear sunfish without the longear or a green sungish lacking a couple green hues which actually happens somethimes lol. Beautiful paint job though and should definitely catch some fish. Not sure where you are to not have bluegill subfish though, they are in every state in the country, up into canada and i do believes parts of northern mexico lol

First of all, a person that gives that much description of a fish shouldn’t have “blind” in their name LOL 😉
I agree though, it’s not what I’d typically expect a blue gill to look like. Not sure where this fish came from but maybe it has to do with the sediment in the water?? Kinda like how Manitoba Walleye get their green backs from limestone and blue backs in Ontario?? If someone reading this knows-I’d love to get educated on this. And as for my lack of bluegill situation, for some reason Manitoba doesn’t have a well recognized population of them. I can think of one creek that has Pumpkinseeds but that’s it. Perch and Crappie dominate the little fish game up here. And I think I’ve only heard of a few sightings of them in NW Ontario.
Fantastic input though and I greatly appreciate it. Thanks for watching and take care!!

@@havenlures I'm literally blind in one eye hence the name blind_eye_fishing. Rule of thumb never judge a book by its cover or people for that matter lol. I know understand why you don't see or have many bluegill lol all good I have friends up there so that's why I asked where you was located. In the US they are everywhere. What I'd do and what i normally do when painting something I'm not super familiar with is get multiple reference pictures of actual fish. It's like painting perch patterns for me lol we don't have perch in my area or not many anyway, they are mostly in the north part of my state but are more rare here than Northern states. But simple perch patterns is something I actually love to paint and I love to make one off custom markings for them. It's harder for me to paint with only one eye and it not being great but it's still a fun hobby. I love watching others come up with patterns as well. I do try and help with suggesting what to call one as well lol. I'd call that one (which like I said is a awesome looking lure) a sunfish of some kind. Doesn't even have to be a real fish name just area you live and sunfish lol. Like I have one I call muddy water gill and it's not really anything I've ever seen ij a bluegill, a gill or sunfish natural pattern. It just feel together when I was trying to do a darker bluegill pattern lol. Experimenting is half the fun. Have a great one and keep up the great work 🤘.
