Is the blade brand new? If not it may be worn causing it to slip. If it's new and the lever is fully locked into place then you may need to mess with the tracking screws as the wheels may not be aligned correctly. Is the saw brand new?

my blade keeps popping off. any ideas why?

I really wanted to see the guide tracking adjustments. The manual is useless for that. The wheel at 45 degrees is kind of a mystery.
