There calling for Auburn not to recruit a top QB this next cycle. Why ? They did this yesterday. You need to always recruit QB’s every year. I rather a QB leave then have to go look for one. You need take a QB every year…
Lol...How old are you? You open the season in a true road game. Waco ain't Austin or College station (which you gotta go play there too btw.) but it's a passionate fan base. Vandy brings back Pavia and Jerry Kill. Oklahoma getting one of the best returning QBs (and his OC) and will have receivers healthy and hungry. Kentucky may be the closest thing to a sure conference win and there's really no such thing as a sure win in the SEC.
Sounds like a lot of booging. Auburn still hasn't made ANY changes with offensive staff. No changes = another 5-7 or 6-6 year and time to start over. This offensive staff is ridiculously horrible. They can't coach, can't game plan, and can't call plays.
I hope we win every single game. Needs on the roster have been addressed. No excuse to have a bad season. I’m going to remain skeptical because I don’t believe in Hugh, but I really do hope I’m wrong
We have an extremely experienced line. I think the entire line is JR's and SR's. They have no excuse. One of the best WR rooms in the country, a QB that, with the worst line and WR in the SEC, still only threw 3 picks. And a stout defense with a stout DC.
9-3 would put us easily in the top 15. And depending on where those wins and losses come from could be easy top 10. Have faith, UGA and UA aren't the juggernauts of years past. If this team clicks then, 10-2 is possible. we had some bad losses, if those went our way we are looking at 8-4 this year and this prediction isn't far off, i am disappointed that no one else sees it.
Some Saturdays Auburn looked prepared in 2024 and some they didnt. The team never loooked confident in Payton Thorne. I dont believe he was the total issue but confidence goes a long way.
Any way we could Andy Staples on the Pod? Would love to know what methodology he uses to get Auburn at 11. Same with you guys, didn’t even have Auburn top 25 this year.
I’m not boogin at all this offseason, not until this coaching staff shows me something on the field. And 11th doesn’t mean you’re in the playoff due to the current format.
Maybe the games we could have won IF we take out three or four plays. We were basically a good team with a couple of holes…we fixed those issues. Right?
Normally, I would rather prove it on the field and move up in the rankings as warranted. This time though I think starting ranked gives the team something to live up to. It puts pressure on the coach to start high and grow higher. Overrated or not, ranking is a good thing this year from an expectations point of view.
The leap will happen, and it will be due to increased talent and continuity. It gets overlooked that Auburn was going through a coordinator change last year. So you had two years of bad QB play compounded by no spring his first season and changing the offense in the spring of his second season. More depth on the defensive side of the ball (save for maybe the DL but I believe at least a couple of the incoming freshmen on the DL are talented enough to give you 10-15 snaps a game to begin with) will allow Hugh to utilize tempo again the way that he wants to. As for the scheme discussion, I’m really struggling to understand that argument. I get that the product on the field the last two years has not always been pretty. However, I never heard this argument or stance from Zac before Hugh came to Auburn. He was fired up about his scheme and offensive prowess. He didn’t just magically forget how his offense works. Perfect example of what I’m talking about occurred two seasons ago. Philip Montgomery was mostly in charge of the offense for every game that season except the Bama and Georgia game, and Auburn gave both of those vastly more talented rosters all they wanted. Bama needed a miracle throw, bad defensive play call, and clear as day push off (I’ll die on this hill for the rest of my life) to win at the last second. It was clear to see that Hugh was intimately involved in the play calling in those two games. Much more so than any others in the season. He beat Saban in back to back years back when Bama had a chokehold on college football. The dude can coach. I get that he has his share of coaching missteps, but him being a great players coach and a father figure for these kids is NOT enough to get them to keep committing here. It’s not just money, either. They’re committing because Hugh has a long line of offensive success he’s pointing to when recruiting these kids. The SEC is just more competitive from top to bottom than ever before, and frankly Auburn had a piss poor roster in comparison to the rest of the league. That was never going to be fixed overnight. Who cares if his scheme only works with top flight players? He’s getting them, so we’re gonna find out over the next two seasons whether or not he’s still got it. He just came into a situation where he had one of the least talented rosters in the most competitive league in college football. Last year Auburn finally had enough offensive threats to have an offense that could really move the ball, which produced much improved yardage statistics. It just didn’t translate to points because the windows shrink in the redzone and you need a decisive, accurate, strong-armed QB to throw effectively in the redzone. No hate to him, but PT realistically had one of those attributes - accuracy, and even that would come and go occasionally. I wish they could’ve coached some more decisiveness into him, but it is what it is. Finally, it’s a really big deal to finally have the left side of the line locked down. It makes a world of difference for your QB to be able to stand in there and feel confident that his blind side is protected. How much easier must it be for your QB to go through his progressions when every fiber of his being isn’t telling him to check over his shoulder real quick to see if he’s about to get buried by a defensive end that just blew past Percy Lewis before he could get out of his stance?
Slow processing QB equals bad redzone play, also assignments were blown frequently at redzone, there were many times where the pulling blockers missed or were too slow to the spot or picked the wrong option block. On more than 1 occasion the runner hit the closed hole.
I believe last year better red zone aptitude would have yielded a top 20 team, play calling and QB awareness were the downfalls, looking forward to next season J Arnold has already demonstrated elite awareness in the red zone however I wouldn’t expect play calling to improve keeping them out of the top ten so 11 seems optimistically rational
Zac obsession was saying that we don’t have the offensive scheme is so puzzling. If that’s the case, then we should just go ahead and fire Hugh because it’s never going to change. If it really is about his scheme and not about the personnel, then we should cut ties and hire someone with a better scheme. By the way, Harsins scheme was really good and he sucked because his players weren’t it.
Exactly. Never heard that from him before. Now that it didn’t always work with a hodge podge of mostly mid players from the portal and extremely talented but very young and mistake prone players he’s confused? The scheme concern is largely unfounded imo, at least until we have adequate personnel to run it. I’d say this upcoming season will be the first time since Hugh has been here that he’s had a real opportunity to let his scheme shine with players that are both extremely talented AND experienced.
The irony of Dapp talking about other reporters not doing their homework about what they are talking about and he is still going on about the basketball guy and he was 100% wrong about what they were talking about.
I can't wait for the day they start truly ranking and evaluating players, per position, each season, then ranking each team by their average player rating. Players only get rated after their freshman season, and if they get significant snaps. It's coming. We already have PFF, and that's just going to add to it.
And in a month y'all be doing three or four videos about how Auburn is being disrespected by the national media about being ranked so low. Y'all kill me.
Come on guys! This "too early" rankings is doing exactly what they want to happen! Ridiculous discussion among "locked on" and other pod cast and fans. It's getting feathers ruffled.
Feels like they’re trying to predict the next Indiana/ASU for next season to make themselves look like football geniuses if it hits. Everything is there to do it. Roster keeps getting better. Coaching staff kept together. Had a ton of freshman get snaps last season so they should all get better. There’s always a team that has that glow up after a bad season and I do think Auburn is in the best position to do that next year…. BUT… no way in hell I rank them 11. Jackson Arnold hasn’t proven anything since high school and Hugh hasn’t proven anything in a decade. Two most important factors.
Guys come on! We got the talent. It’s all about two ppl. Freeze and Arnold. If they do there job then yea we can be that high or higher. We got the talent to do it. There is no excuses. And Alabama and GA has more talent depth wise yes. But we are not far behind anymore .Gotta have faith.
Zac and Dapp…it’s time 4 Auburn 2 be good again…we r overdue….We have 2 much history and tradition…we r one of the top 15 programs of all time and we as Auburn fans deserve better..They have addressed most of their needs through the portal and recruited at a high level the past 2 years….It’s time and it’s time 2 get behind this team and see what happens…Because when they r disrespected…and not mentioned…it would be a problem for u both as well…Let’s see…because this roster is loaded with talent….why not Auburn…its not like we haven’t won at a high level before….War Eagle 🦅🐅….2004,2010,2013…2017…if Kerryon wouldn’t have got hurt…things would have been different….It’s time now….WDE!!
At this point, it wouldn't matter if they ranked Alabama A&M number 1. The only reason this thing even exists is because they don't have anything else to write about. At least they're writing about sports and not 'rasslin'.
Auburn has a really strong fanbase that is hungry.I wonder if they might have given us a bump just for the amount of Auburn fans that consume their content.I hope Auburn is that good though.
You guys are being “Debbie Downers” on both Hugh Freeze and Jackson Arnold. Freeze told everybody he needed 3 years to rebuild the team and you don’t want to give him that amount of time. And no QB college or pro could have won at Oklahoma last year with a terrible offensive line coupled with a decimated receiver corps.
Wow, we need some guys covering Auburn who actually believe in them. Overrated? They have a top roster now. At least some people in the media believe in us. I wish our guys did. War Eagle..
So if auburn wins 10…they automatically lose to Georgia and bama at home? I’m not saying auburn is going to be ranked anything or not but they automatically lose to Georgia and bama is wild thing to say. If that happens again auburn BETTER have 9 or 10 wins or Freeze needs to be fired.
With the talent level where it is, he either wins 9, or he should be shown the door. As yall said, the team never looks prepared and the playcalling/scheme in the red zone is horrible. Great car salesman, terrible coach/husband/father/leader/human
If AU is not somewhere in that area to 25 freeze will and should be fired. Players will bounce and all the staying power he has built will be gone. So we better hope Staples is right or we’re back to square one yet again.
EXACTLY. conceding to this in January is insane. They're BOTH winnable games at home. I like to say F ck Alabama every opportunity I get. So, consider it said and have a lovely day.

2 top 10 classes, a top 20 class, and multiple top 5 portal classes. Add in our easiest schedule since I’ve been alive… we better be at least top 20
Amen to that!

Good to see Darrell getting riled up over the play calling from last season. If that doesn’t improve talent won’t make a difference

If there was a way for me to care about 25 rankings right now..im not sure i would know how???
I do believe Auburn will make the top 25 this year. This roster is set up to accomplish this.
They have the roster. They don’t have the offensive identity
They don't have the offensive staff. Auburn needs a real OC that brings in his offense with no input from Freeze.
And in a month y'all be doing three or four videos about how Auburn is being disrespected by the national media about being ranked so low. Y'all kill me.
With Freeze at the helm, I’ve learned to judge him on the field not on ranking as we know how that goes. The proof is in the pudding.
All ima say is the last time Hugh freeze had a qb not named Payton Thorne he won 10 games
I would rather be underrated and out perform than overrated and meet expectations.
Come on guys! This "too early" rankings is doing exactly what they want to happen! Ridiculous discussion among "locked on" and other pod cast and fans. It's getting feathers ruffled.

Auburn has a really strong fanbase that is hungry.I wonder if they might have given us a bump just for the amount of Auburn fans that consume their content.I hope Auburn is that good though.
Get Andy on the show. ASAP
I am concerned about QB. We don’t have a proven commodity there.
TheScore has Auburn at 5 and bama at 17 😆 crazy lol definitely WAY TO EARLY top 25 lol
This show has been rolling😂 Love the Dapp!

Wow, we need some guys covering Auburn who actually believe in them. Overrated? They have a top roster now. At least some people in the media believe in us. I wish our guys did. War Eagle..
Oh I believe. I believe in being realistic. 8-4
Invite them to explain then ?!?!?!
war eagle
Losses to both Bama and Georgia at home? Repent Zac Blakerby! Repent!
Auburn will make the playoffs I think we’re rank just right

Why are they acting like alabama? Is this massive world beater
They won’t be rated when the season starts. This is just click bait
If we don’t win 8 games with this roster then Freeze needs to go!
WDE
With the talent level where it is, he either wins 9, or he should be shown the door. As yall said, the team never looks prepared and the playcalling/scheme in the red zone is horrible. Great car salesman, terrible coach/husband/father/leader/human
Eleventh???? Eleventh in the sec. 2025 will be freeze’s last year.
not "auburn overrated?", but "auburn overrated!"
Auburn ranked 150 or last place.
If AU is not somewhere in that area to 25 freeze will and should be fired. Players will bounce and all the staying power he has built will be gone. So we better hope Staples is right or we’re back to square one yet again.
