The Fixx’s Cy Curnin joins Kyle Meredith to take us into Every Five Seconds, the band’s first album in a decade. The frontman talks about bridging their classic sound with present experiments, the evergreen social and political topics that seem to persist through their lyrics, and the magnified look at our current hurdles as a society. Curnin also revisits Shuttered Room for its 40th anniversary and talks about what that record still says today.
I hope Cy and the rest of the band realize just how important they are to their fans! Especially those of us who remember them from Mtv from back in the day! Phenomenal live band! Get out there and support these guys on the road! Let them know how much we appreciate them!!

Great interview. I remember when they released the "Ememental" album they came to town point park in Norfolk Va for a free show. And they played almost 2 hrs.
This was a really great chat. Thanks for bringing Cy on, he is a genuine artist. Loved The Fixx since the beginning, they always deliver live. Need to spend more time with the new album.

I could just sit and listen to him and his voice endlessly. He amazes me with everything he always wants and has to talk about on these podcasts and yet he just makes total sense to me all the time it's crazy and I just love him for being himself. I myself am so familiar to this as well but yet no one can ever answer my curiosities or questions I have a well and its just lovely to hear others like me as well out here, he makes me laugh and I have been following all of them (The Fixx💗) since 1980-81.🕉️
The man is a great thinker . You also hear the poetry in his talk.
Great interview...one of the best one's I"ve seen/heard with Cy or the Fixx, because it digs deep. I somewhat get tired of hearing the same questions about the same songs all the time, so this was extremely refreshing. Cy is a very deep, intellectual soul...I love that. My favorite line of his in this interview was when he used the term, Gestalt...the sum of all parts, about his relationship with the band. Perfect! Thanks for this video....excellent.
Cy has been one of my gurus since I was 15, 40 years later and he makes even more sense.
Thanks for an excellent interview Kyle! It seemed like I was in the same room with Cy having a chat like we were old friends. I really love how he doesn't seem to be a fan of any particular polital party but gives us all something to think about to make us as humans better people and work on improving the world we live in. Something todays polital leaders and society influencers certainly lack. The Fixx songs have always been inspiring, thoughtful, & timeless.
