Honestly, I don’t have a problem dating someone with HIV. Educating myself on the subject, opened my mind and has made me far less fearful of dating someone, who is positive. Doesn’t bother me. Just be upfront with me from the beginning and I’ll do the same. The connection I have with the person matters way more than anything else.

I just assume that everyone is HIV positive. In Atlanta 1/2 the people are positive. If they say that they are negative that means practically nothing.
MO JOE it’s a good practice to incorporate regardless of actual HIV+ rates. It’s something that is practiced in the medical field as well as for professions like tattoo artists. Assume you need protection from blood borne pathogens and otherwise 😉👍🏽

Actually... In the beginning of this year I met one guy on tinder and we had quite a lot of sexual intercourses the first time we met in person, I didn't tell him about my status but we had a very strong chemical connection, we kept meeting up to hang out, go to the cinema, share some time... then a month passed, I had to tell him... so I did... but he was so chill about it, even he being HIV-... I was noone back then, had no money and no future but even with that all he became my boyfriend that day and supported me and well... Today he finally is at my mom's house to get along with her :D And next year we will plan to get married :D

As for me ever since I acknowledge myself that I have a virus, I automatically close my door for any possible dating or any relationship. Just being safe for me and for the others. It's hard for other people to accept the fact that a certain person have that virus, yet I'm still happy because I have my friends that is always on my side

Well...a friend of mine outed my status for me. I told her, because she was my friend, right after I got home from six weeks in hospital, and begged her not to tell anyone one! It was all so new to me, and I was battling so many feelings inside at that time. A few days later met a group of friends and this one girl says out loud [name] goes around and tells everyone you got HIV! The woman who spilled the tea has since died, and the girl being insensitive enough to shout it out in public has since contracted HIV. But what do you do? You deal with or Bury yourself in self-hatred and shame. Brush it off and educate people. Like you do with your advocacy! Which I'm so grateful, and in awe p of! ❤

I was with my ex for five years. He told me about his status in our third year together. I was a little irritated that he kept it to himself that long but wasn't surprised (I figured out he was positive before he told me). Being with him helped me open my eyes to positive men as potential partners. I wouldn't mind dating another positive man in the future, only if he has mentally dealt with being positive though.
@@RaifDerrazi Yeah. I was more concerned with him. Keeping that to himself caused him soo much anxiety. He cried when he told me and I told him I was disappointed that he didn't think I could handle that aspect about him, like he didn't trust me enough. His status is not what broke us up. He unfortunately had never dealt with the psychological side of being positive. And so he fell into deep depression and drug use (meth, coccaine, Ativan et cetera). I tried everything to get him help but he eventually broke up with me because I was being too overbearing. It's a shame. I really loved him and thought he and I would get married. As a negative man I have extreme compassion for my positive brothas and sistahs. Those of you reading this who are negative shouldn't be too quick to judge those who are positive. A lot of good guys worth dating (such as the guy in this video 👆🏾).

My best friend uses his status as a wall to open up and build a relationship. I really wish I knew how to guide him into accepting it when speaking to a future partner. He is a king of sabotage for this reason.

Just got diagnosed last year. Only my mom and my dad knows about it (aside from my doctors of course). What my parents don't know is I'm gay, at least from what I know. So yeah, dating is far from my priorities right now. My mom calls daily to check on me which sometimes can be frustrating. But not answering her call can literally give her a heart attack. I guess i'll just have to concentrate on my relationship with my parents for now.

I hope I can find someone who loves me for who I am, cause I'm an awesome person. lol I follow a RUclipsr who recently came on here and he was ranting saying someone was trying to give him Aids and I told him it takes two to be responsible!He didn't have sex with the guy but he went and got tested just cause they kissed. People need to educate themselves and being undetectable its very safe. He was being very negative and spreading nonsense about hiv. I asked him doesn't he care about catching a Std? Thank you for sharing your life and experience. I've been worried about getting HIV because of the summons a prostitute. After eight days of that I took the RT-PCR test , luckily it was RNA undetected. But before the report came out it was so so suffer for me to get though. I worried about if my parents know what would they think and I worried about that I would screw up my whole life just because having sex. And I do worried about if I get HIV can I still find a girl that will truly love me, I'm afraid of being along in rest of my life. Yea so I have my status on my profile and me just being me, it's something i prefer because I'm so open about my life but...I'm beginning to think its more detrimental to my dating life. I don't know if I should or not because you are correct, gay people judge us extraordinarily harshly especially if we choose not to disclose the info off bat. I dont know. Feel free to try both or all scenarios...you might try leaving it off for a while and disclosing it further down the line like on a first date...or second date etc...just try shit! you don't have to commit to any one thing...only way to find out what works best for YOU

It won't just hurt your relationship with that person if you don't tell that person about your HIV positive status (even if undetectable) before any sexual act, its a crime and rightfully so.

I also pretty much try to date men who already are hiv positive undetectable because they already know how it feels to be "outside the group" living in a darker Grey area its like living in the closest all over again
You should be up front about it from the beginning. It is alarming how many guys I have been with who have gone all the way with me and they never told me they had anything. I am fortunate to have a mutant immune system that can seem to kill anything but not everybody is that lucky. I would not discount a person for a relationship based on their status, nobody is perfect.
This is just my opinion but I feel dating with a hiv positive status is easier in the lbgt community than straight community. Most of the negative stigma is on the heterosexual side of things. Makes it very stressful.

I do not have HIV, my status is Negative. But , if someone has the right chemistry with me, and they take their meds, then I don’t see the problem with dating them. Honestly, I don’t have a problem dating someone with HIV. Educating myself on the subject, opened my mind and has made me far less fearful of dating someone, who is positive. Doesn’t bother me. Just be upfront with me from the beginning and I’ll do the same. The connection I have with the person matters way more than anything else.

I just assume that everyone is HIV positive. In Atlanta 1/2 the people are positive. If they say that they are negative that means practically nothing.

As for me ever since I acknowledge myself that I have a virus, I automatically close my door for any possible dating or any relationship. Just being safe for me and for the others. Well...a friend of mine outed my status for me.
I told her, because she was my friend, right after I got home from six weeks in hospital, and begged her not to tell anyone one!
It was all so new to me, and I was battling so many feelings inside at that time.
A few days later met a group of friends and this one girl says out loud [name] goes around and tells everyone you got HIV!
The woman who spilled the tea has since died, and the girl being insensitive enough to shout it out in public has since contracted HIV.
But what do you do?
You deal with or Bury yourself in self-hatred and shame.
Brush it off and educate people.
Like you do with your advocacy!

I was with my ex for five years. He told me about his status in our third year together. I was a little irritated that he kept it to himself that long but wasn't surprised (I figured out he was positive before he told me). Being with him helped me open my eyes to positive men as potential partners.
I wouldn't mind dating another positive man in the future, only if he has mentally dealt with being positive though.

@@RaifDerrazi Yeah. I was more concerned with him. Keeping that to himself caused him soo much anxiety. He cried when he told me and I told him I was disappointed that he didn't think I could handle that aspect about him, like he didn't trust me enough.
His status is not what broke us up. He unfortunately had never dealt with the psychological side of being positive. And so he fell into deep depression and drug use (meth, coccaine, Ativan et cetera). I tried everything to get him help but he eventually broke up with me because I was being too overbearing. It's a shame. I really loved him and thought he and I would get married.
As a negative man I have extreme compassion for my positive brothas and sistahs. Those of you reading this who are negative shouldn't be too quick to judge those who are positive. A lot of good guys worth dating (such as the guy in this video 👆🏾).

My best friend uses his status as a wall to open up and build a relationship. I really wish I knew how to guide him into accepting it when speaking to a future partner. He is a king of sabotage for this reason.

Just got diagnosed last year. Only my mom and my dad knows about it (aside from my doctors of course). What my parents don't know is I'm gay, at least from what I know. So yeah, dating is far from my priorities right now. My mom calls daily to check on me which sometimes can be frustrating. But not answering her call can literally give her a heart attack. I guess i'll just have to concentrate on my relationship with my parents for now.

People need to educate themselves and being undetectable its very safe. He was being very negative and spreading nonsense about hiv. I asked him doesn't he care about catching a Std? Thank you for sharing your life and experience. I've been worried about getting HIV because of the summons a prostitute. After eight days of that I took the RT-PCR test , luckily it was RNA undetected. But before the report came out it was so so suffer for me to get though. I worried about if my parents know what would they think and I worried about that I would screw up my whole life just because having sex. Yea so I have my status on my profile and me just being me, it's something i prefer because I'm so open about my life but...I'm beginning to think its more detrimental to my dating life. I don't know if I should or not because you are correct, gay people judge us extraordinarily harshly especially if we choose not to disclose the info off bat. I dont know. Feel free to try both or all scenarios...you might try leaving it off for a while and disclosing it further down the line like on a first date...or second date etc...just try shit! you don't have to commit to any one thing...only way to find out what works best for YOU

You should be up front about it from the beginning. It is alarming how many guys I have been with who have gone all the way with me and they never told me they had anything. I am fortunate to have a mutant immune system that can seem to kill anything but not everybody is that lucky. I would not discount a person for a relationship based on their status, nobody is perfect.
This is just my opinion but I feel dating with a hiv positive status is easier in the lbgt community than straight community. Most of the negative stigma is on the heterosexual side of things. Makes it very stressful.
