- Filmed at Klub Eskulap, Poznan, Poland on 12th April 2007 this was my 113th gig out of 115 with Budgie. Steve and Burke had problems with sound during this show but I had no such problems and enjoyed it immensely. As a result this is the best live performance of Parents I ever did and I'm very glad it was captured on video.
Сильнейшие рокеры суперская группа рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍
I'm pretty sad that I'll never see Budgie.
This is incredible. Masterful guitar, regardless of his name recognition. Tragic that this lineup didn't have several albums and an entire new Budgie era.
Thank you so much!
Seen Budgie at Birmingham town hall around 1973,Judas Priest were supporting
Great feel throughout Simon, very tasteful.
Still one of my favourite bands Budgie after all these years when I first saw them play in 1974, @Simon Lees does a great job at keeping the original feeling, such a shame they will never play again.
Thanks, Steve
@@SimonCLees Your welcome mate, just watched your 1 man Napoleon Bona Parte 1&2 as well, great stuff shame you never get over Derbyshire way.
Poznan is my hometown and I saw Budgie at Arena circa 1980, unforgettable.
Niezapomniany koncert, to było w Arenie w 1982r. Dużo wówczas się działo, Budgie niosła wolność, której tak pragnęliśmy.
San Antonio Austin too
1977-1978

Absolutely brilliant
Thanks again, mate!
one of the bands i see live at skindles maidenhead Berkshire many years ago as a youngster and loved this rock music
Very good performance with great feel. One of my fave Budgie songs indeed.
Thanks Hartmut
@@SimonCLees what was your pedalboard set up for these gigs? Marshall heads I expect?
Superb playing and fantastic guitar sound 👍
Hi Peter - glad you liked it! Pedaboard was a Boss GT-8 going into the input of the clean channels of 2x Soundman 100W heads with 2 4x12 Marshall cabs on each. Guitar was a Hofner Colorama with Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups. Soundman is a Polish amp company and the amps were similar to HiWatt.
@@SimonCLees thank you. I’m surprised that you were using a Boss effects unit - what did you use for distortion/lead boost? Was it all from the Boss?
@peteraindow3462 Yes , I used the GT8 for everything. Reason being I could plug it into any amp and get the same sound. When we toured outside the UK we used rented backline so I needed a way of having that consistency. The Boss GT8 is a great machine as long as you don't use the factory presets!
I was there! My fist ever gig in my life!
Tomasz Hęciak that's cool, man! Glad you found the video.
Amazing. Budgie was my first ever live gig at Glasgow City Halls in 1974. Still my favourite band. Many thanks.
I wish I would of been there. Budgie Rock's.
아름다운 영상...심장이 두근거리네요
A beautiful song which I thought I had NEVER HEARD, until someone played to me the other day… totally deserved more recognition
....a pot kapał z sufitu - jak zawsze w Eskulapie....It was nice job Simon that time with Budgie.
Thank you!
one of my favourite /budgie songs ever just beautiful
Superb
That was a great live performance and recording, absolutely one of the best. Great guitar work Simon.
Thank you!
I was there! What a night!
My ALL time fav Band!! Greetings from Brazil 🤘🏻🇧🇷
That tone is something else Simon !
Thanks, Frank - much appreciated. It was a Hofner Colorama with Duncan Distortion pickups going into a Boss GT8 into a clean Soundman 100W head with 2 4x12 cabs.
@@SimonCLees Wow thanks for the reply Simon ! I swear by my duncan distortions and GT100 im amazed you also are using this wonderful board
@@jfoquendo no worries, mate. I've used Boss multi FX since 1988. I have finally ordered the Neural DSP Quad Cortex though. It is a game changer!
@@SimonCLees Oh now we are talking big bux, I literally took all your advice yesterday in fact and my tone is astronomical ! thanks to you now all i need is a gig !! you are a godsend my friend glad i found you ! Keep shredding please !
@@jfoquendo it is very expensive but it's a special treat from my wife, family and friends for my 50th! Glad you found my tips useful, mate. The GTs are capable of brilliant sounds. I also think their ability to manipulate sounds in real time for live use is better than anything out there. I can see me still using them for years to come.
I saw these guys in the mid 70"s at Harry's Hide away in Oshawa Ont Can. There may have been 120 people in the place...fantastic band and totally under rated!!!
From vladicavkaz with love❤
another great performance, Simon :) ---Keep racking them up!

Budgie must be the most underrated band in history, their biggest problem was the competition from so many great bands in the 70s.
I really wish you had done more with Budgie, Cuckooland was a great album and needed a follow-up. This is a great rendition of Parents.
Thanks Andrez. Burke and Craig did some work on a follow-up. Sadly because Burke had no motivation it didn't get finished. It sounded really good too. Better than Cuckooland to be honest! Thank you for your kind comments - it means a lot.
A band that I dont listen to that much to be honest but this is wonderful... Ace song and ace dynamics on the guitar... ;-)
Thanks Will
