This is a compilation of all the live footage/t.v. appearances I could find of Budgie during the 70's. I tried to find the best quality video and audio I could. Yet, due to this band's relative obscurity much of the films haven't been properly kept over the years and are usually poor in quality.

Couple of days ago I was thinking about Budgie and what awesome sound they banged out for 3 piece band . I was meeting my mate to go clubbing in Birmingham u.k many years back and he said Budgie were playing same night we could go there first . Big yes never seen them live . Only small venue not many people , but they were outstanding . Thank your dad for me for great night . Cant believe they weren't bigger than what they were . I'm now looking for tutorials on how to play , Zoom Club and In For The Kill on guitar . If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great .

okay I'm trying to understand what did compare to this at the time... 1975? so basically they were playing experimental "disco" kind of music before Disco even became a worldwide phenomenon? so not only they are pioneers of heavy metal they also have part in Disco becoming a thing? this is huge

I would not say relative obscurity as much as I would say that collectively Budgie were always about Substance over Style. I think that is a great virtue of truly great bands. It was always more of an invitation to critique them based on their work as opposed to so many bands that were more about the Spectacle of Rock and Roll. Bands like that have a lot of Live Footage and by now are relegated to playing parking lots in the midwest opening up for Styx or Kansas LOL!

They were contemporaries. Burke Shelley and Geddy Lee are often compared. Both wore similar glasses. Apparently they appeared in the 70s together. When Budgie left the stage and Rush started their set some audience members thought that the same Bass Player/Singer was in both bands!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
