My favorite part of the parkour is how the music builds and swells as you run and hit moves like vaulting over things or wall-running. And then the beat will suddenly hang as you launch and fall towards the ground to build suspense.

Nah bro I instantly went to night to get level 4 chase and was having a blast and kept having to go down to the ground to keep the chase up 💀
My only complaint with the darker nights color grading is that the darkness feels too artificial, there are light sources that doesn't light things as they should.
I think they should release an option which is a middle ground from the normal one and the darker nights one.
agreed, the filters are way too artificial and each should be tweaked so they look better.
yeah like that's something that I loved about the fire barrels and cars that were on fire in dying light 1, they lit things up as they should
They should patch it I agree, so that light sources keep their brightness
you dont need the filter enabled for the night to be darker it just makes it really dark
@@Vlaax_ I would recommend bumping up gamma to somwhere around 17 to 20, it still is quite dark and sometimes pitch black in some areas, but overall, it feels more appropriate, but I do agree with the complaint. I think the only way they could realistically fix that, if they decide to literally overhaul the lighting system, instead of just slapping a filter onto the game, because that's what it seems to just be.
They did a phenomenal job with this update imo

Companies should strive to do this, add options for people that liked a old style of game, and keep the new default options for casuals.

dying light 1 was also for casuals, combat in this game is just worse (not even mentioning the story that is somehow worse than the first)

Also actually the jump and sprint animations are all different from the OG even on the assisted mode, and idk if you missed but also the combat got changed up a couple of months ago too, if you watch some old gameplay you’d be shocked at how floaty everything used to look, zombies barely even populated the city too
The Harran Sunset grading is the best, the night strike that perfect balance between the normal and darker nights gradings
It's hard to create game, let alone making it better. Techland has gotten my respect especially for an AAA game since nowadays most AAA games are half-baked/bad/worst/unplayable. Been playing Dying Light series and Dead Islands too for as long as I can remember, and I can say they did a pretty good job at making games and updating it. Love it when the developer actually cares about their games and the community as well. Hope new upcoming AAA games getting better and "well-done".

One of those where you gotta play it to really understand the difference. Been a dying light fan since day 1 and this update has really brought the spark back for me, can't wait to see where they go next
I really like update because the new parkour combos you can do makes you go insanely fast. For example slide jump is even better able to launch you across whole streets

You can do that even before the update. Before it was run then C (slide)~E (far jump)~shift (afterboost).
Now it's just run then C (slide)~spacebar (far jump)~shift (afterboost).

I had just bought the game right as this update came out and it’s feels like a more refined dl1 with a lil less day zombies, couple things I want in future update would more zombs in open area and zombies weight to be lighter so can boot them while dead they’re dead

Hey Jayvee don’t want to sound rude or anything but if you get enough military tech you can upgrade your grappling hook to pull you toward surfaces and your glider has a boost just so you know:edit: you can also slide down billboards now like e3 when the game was revealed
Man , the parkour has become so smooth
When you use the survival instinct you don’t see everyone’s silhouette as you could do before, now you see the skeleton from the ones that are awake and/or roaming around.
PS: the only gripe is that the colour palette is saturated so it can look darker, hence it looks kinda artificial.

I just got the game and I was watching several videos before playing it (I'm not one that cares about spoilers) and seen how everyone's survival sense worked. When I started the game and my survival sense wasn't highlighting the enemies the way everyone else's did, I assumed my game was glitched or something. I was kind of hoping it was a glitch because a glitch could be fixed!
I actually like survival sense working the way I've seen in videos much better! Mainly because it highlighted enemies bodies that you haven't yet searched so you could FIND THEM and didn't have to waste time going to bodies you either already searched or just didn't have anything in the first place! Just so I'm clear about this, it isn't my game/PS5 that's not working correctly/glitched, its actually something they changed in an update with survival sense!? I actually restarted my game several times trying to "fix" it.
** If its an actual update causing this and not some glitch or whatever (as much as that will suck IMO) at least I won't have to keep trying to "fix" the game and can get on with playing it! Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give!:)

Can’t wait to jump back into this. Will do so when the next story expansion comes out so I’ll have both dlc to play

They need to add a fuel system for the generators that power up small safezones because there is too many of them around the city and it's kinda weird you just turn the generator on once and it lasts forever. It would be much better, tenser and scarier to first having to fuel them up and then wind the generator before the volatiles get to you during chases. They were always lit up in the first game too yes but with how much easier is to outrun volatiles in this game there should be less of those small safezones. Fuel would be a thing you find around the city or convoys and dark zones. The big safezones with villagers would be still lit up...

There are also some new enemies, like plaguebearers which are bandits that blow up into toxic chemicals on death, and daytime banshees which are green!
Yeah I just picked it up the other day cuz it was on sale and I was seeing all the new updates they've been doing of the game. Big fan of the first one was disappointed when the second game first dropped with what I was reading. Gave it a bit for them to do some updates and it seems like it's in a good place right now
I always make sure I have a shooting function on my weapons like Inferno, Avalanche or Catapult or Puff.
I got the game at launch and never even finished it. Randomly decided to give it another try 2 weeks ago and I’m now on a ng+ run. The changes to the night system is a game changer

The volatiles are hilarious in a scary way. They just be roaming around your zone waiting for you to walk out the UV zone lmao

Has night time been fixed on the ps5? It was literally unplayable last time because on hdr mode the nights were so dark I had to keep my torch on all the time but when I do that it’s so much easier to get detected and nighttime just became annoying
BTW is there still a grappling hook in DL2 at some point or is that paraglider a substitute for it?
There is a grappling hook and a paraglider and many other things and they are called “Night runner tools” also the grappling hook is not as broken as Dl1 hook.
You will get a grappling hook later in the game, which you can also upgrade just like the paraglider. And its sick. You can actually see Jayvee use it a couple of times in the video.
Fun fact the new night time music/ambiance is night time music /ambiance from dying lights night time

You can knife them when they grab you. Pretty sure they added it earlier this year
You can use the UV glowing sticks or even the throwing knives to quickly get out of a grapple. No cool Kung Fu moves anymore though

The update is subtle but cool. You feel more like an actual guy free running and less like an Astronaut. Jumping and falling is faster. You feel heavier. Crank the fov to max and the head bobbing to max and its night and day.

Did he really not notice how many times he dodged the volatiles spit attack? Like when aiden kinda hits the ground and bends down he really just dodged so many attacks😭
The gameplay from the first demo when you hit a zombie it felt and looked super fluid and like they had impact and the directi9n of the wound thats what I've been asking as an update s8nce day one still kinda disappointed once that's fix3d I'll be happy the last update was cool but the gore animations should have been there ...:/

Is that "instant paraglider" gadget available from the beginning in this game? I never finished the original. Sure wish I'd had that in the original game.
You don't get it right away; you get it partway through the story.

Did they decrease zombie grabs even further? I really hope so. In a previous update they said they reduced zombie grabs but it didn't seem like they were reduced far enough. Personally, I wish they would either a- totally remove zombie grabs, or b- give us an "instant escape" a-la DL1. That's still my number-one gripe with the game.

I love Dying Light 2, I played it on PS4 before getting my PS5, but stopped playing when I booted it up on PS5, and saw that cross progression wasn't available. So I put it down and won't pick it up until Cross Progression is implemented. Pretty shite that it isn't a feature available tbh.

Last time i played this game everytime i attwcked something runners would come out of nowhere all the time literally just fighting one zombie and runners every where
I'm having performance problems on my PC. idk why, but the previous patch was fine for me, stable 120+Fps, but they completely removed the DirectX 12 now im getting only 90-95 fps and gpu usage like 80% BTW, I didn't update the latest drivers.
Can anyone help?

Eventhough some things might look the same, everything feels much better when you play it. animations have more weight, feel smoother and faster and they have realistic momentum to them.

Update looks good. Can still see that night time is not a threat and can easily avoid the zombies. Think that was the one thing that disappointed me about the game, that night time was a joke unless you where in a building for a mission. I do wish there was an option to make it as hard as the first one. The time limit mechanic i thought was not a good feature.

You should def upgrade your gear Jayvee, put some time into the game, upgrade your paraglider/grapple hook and get the speed boost parkour skill asap, trust me both the combat and parkour get far more fun and fast once you invest more into them!
It’s all stat % bonuses so he shouldn’t really care

Volatiles being inside buildings at night is part of an event that's on at the moment.
i recorded this with the event off, so i don't think that's what happened to me in this video
The streets still look nearly completely deserted. Parkour was actually necessary in the first game because the streets were dangerous, but in 2 you can just walk to your destination without even having to fight any zombies. At least they've added volatiles hunting you at night, but how dangerous can they be when you have a glider? Theres no threat anymore.

@@labelnine completed it when it launched, and then I immediately went back and replayed 1. 2 is a much easier game, and the streets are practically empty compared to 1. There's also the problem that the buildings are so tall that the zombies can't climb them, the rooftops are mostly empty, and the glider makes chases meaningless.
@@undertone8367I did the same thing, and tbf I’ve been finding tons of zombies around on the second game, also for me zombies can climb buildings fine but if we are talking about those massive skyscrapers then the argument in saying they won’t climb that is kinda ridiculous, rooftops aren’t meant to be filled with infected everywhere, it’s meant to be a safe haven, also first one zombies weren’t invested on rooftops, and you don’t have to use a glider,if you want a good chase then don’t use the glider simple, you chose.
@@undertone8367 agreed. Maybe they could make the glider more of an ability rather than something you can activate whenever you want? Add a substantial cooldown to the glider so you cant use it. Just an idea 🤔
So I'm no longer safe from Volatile's at night when I'm inside a building? They come and go as they bloody well please?! I hate this update 😂 Dread to think what the quarantine zones are like at night now!

Dl1 will always beat dl2 no matter what they do to it, you literally can’t beat harran it was perfect
