It’s actually illegal for an employer to search an applicants social media presence and discriminate based on that. You also aren’t legally allowed to discriminate based on any political views or legal activities such as creating a racist blog about deporting the Browns. If a 3rd party comes to an employer with information about a potential applicant, then they can discriminate, but an employer is not allowed to seek out that information.

Like his judgement wasn't based on whether or not Brock Turner did it -- he admitted to the crime, and the judge found him guilty. He just didn't feel that rape was a "serious enough crime" to have to face any lasting consequences. Not only does that indicate he has absolutely no regard for victims, but he definitely shouldn't be placed in a position of authority over teenaged girls.

If the victim didn't even know it happened for 10 days and went about her life as if nothing happened, it was definitely a pretty mild crime compared to others such as Corey Batey as I mentioned above (did you even read that post?) in which the girl was actually injured as a result.

What's sad is this sketch doesn't really point out the real issue. Companies already look at social media and the like when hiring people. The real issue is when companies find the smallest things offensive. "Oh you voted for trump? You're fired" "oh you support the police? You're fired" "oh you dont believe that milk is homophobic and racist? You're fired". People need to stop playing the racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc... card when most of the time it does not apply
