Ware Disposal's First Day in Monterey Park

- We headed out to Monterey Park on WARE's first day of the contract to check out what trucks would be running and as we expected we found a couple different Battle Motors Amreps along with a scorpion running. Ware disposal is running twice as many trucks as Athens did as Ware is running smaller routes and they have implemented a recycling program here, whereas before Athens ran a mixed waste program, which it appears they residents are still getting use to the addition of recycling services because there were not a lot of recycle carts setout and some of the greenwaste carts were contaminated. First truck in the video is 362 which is one of the battle amreps they purchased for this contract, unfortunately this truck was really slow as new amreps typically are, the driver, Gilbert was talking to us a little bit about the operation and he mentioned he use to work for Republic Anaheim. Next truck in the video is 373 which 1 out of 5 of the Battle Motors Amrep front loaders they purchased for this contract, accompanied by a Ford Maverick scout truck which I haven't seen from any company before. Unfortunately they were not able to do a lot of stops because they didn't have the keys/access to the bins. Last truck in the video is 370 which is a Peterbilt 320 Scorpion they bought used from the city of San Diego and by the looks of it will be a regular truck in Monterey Park. Unfortunately this truck was on the slower side as it looks like the driver was still getting use to the truck.
Big thanks to all the drivers here for letting us record and big thanks to Gilbert for allowing us to record and talking to us for a bit about the operation.
Nice you caught a scorpion
cool too see the battle cabs on a ware truck W video
Great video Daniel! I actually met Gilbert when he was at Republic lol, didn't know he switched companies. Wasn't expecting Ware to buy Battle Motors but they seem to be buying whatever new or used trucks they can. Definitely interested to see what they will do for La Habra Heights.
@@GarbageTruckVideography they got la habra heights?
Yea Gilbert is a great guy, Harvey referred him to ware. He actually said he knew Easton as well. Probably Burro trucks of some sort.
Cool video well done!
Wow. Ware Disposal Collects in Monterey Park now? That’s crazy that Athens is losing contracts too, not just WM. Great video though, I love the Battle Motors Amrep.
Really love the scorpion!
Really good video! I need to get footage of WARE Disposal. It's really interesting to hear about a contract taken from Athens Services especially when they we're taking contracts from other haulers in the last 5 - 6 years and bought out Calmet Services in 2022.
Also I like how WARE decided to do 3 stream instead of the Mixed Waste that Athens Services would do when they had Monterey Park.
They where told to cuz of the new laws
Ware bid the lowest so they won the contract from athens. With SB1383, everyone has to have recycle, organics and trash services.
@@DanielWDonuts I hope Waste Resources of Lynwood and Athens Services of West Covina are listening
@@DanielWDonuts East LA is changing the service from republic to valley Vista. You can find more details on the public works web.
its nice to know that ware put new carts on their first week unlike cr&r when they did on the 4th week
Keep in mind rollouts take time depending on the size of the city as well as the size of the city and route conditions can all effect how long a rollout like this. Ware rolled out throughout August so they would have all the carts ready in time for the start of the contract while Athens pulled their carts the last week of August and the first week of September.
This can’t be Ware Disposal, their trucks have pictures of horses and airplanes on the side of them
And babies on skateboards
And trash cans
And LEGO mini figures wind turbines, superheroes lions, ski boarding, goldfish, the beach pier, babies on skateboards, oranges, drive in theater, puppies and dinosaurs and to recycle jets the zoo Lions inspire yourself California Republic, and much more
If I have to guess, they ran out of stock images and clip art they could use without having to fork over hard cash to do so
Nice video
Omg nice video bro
Awesome
Wow, WARE actually buying a brand new truck
Hmm...I'm thinking WARE might have gotten that scorpion from Burrtec...you think so?
The Scorpion is from the city of San Diego
Really cool to see more Ware residential action! What company was that Toter on that first clip of the Scorpion? It looks like they all do trash first then come back for everything else.
The Toter EVR1s spread around were from athens, but any of those that were setout at the curb were taken when all the carts were rolled back. Correct, they did trash, came back for greens in the same area and then their final load was recycling.
@@DanielWDonuts did you manage to grab one?
@@minibinwaredisposaldude5641 We didn't grab any carts
@@DanielWDonuts oh I thought you where gonna grab a 60 evr1
@@DanielWDonuts Cool, I also thought it was nuts when that man approached the truck from the other side instead of the sidewalk side carrying a heavy looking cart. Good way to get in an accident.
Cool since Athens services took over paramount after calmet services went out of business and they gave Monterey park to ware disposal.
About time they got new equipment.. they’re old trucks were so awful and a danger to society
Only ware would use a maverick as a scout
This is facts.
Amazing. I wonder if they did this to get grant money...
@@HighDesertRefuse how would buying a pussy pickup truck grant them money
