I'm Japanese.
My country has many U.S military facilities.
Also,Japanese has been working in there.
I respect them and American people who is working for the peace of the Pacific and world, so I wanna be a member of employees in the U.S military facilities💪
I'm sorry to not be good at English🙇♂️
You are correct. I lived in Marine bases in Japan for three years and met so many nice Japanese base security guards on many bases.
I was with 1st Platoon, Security Battalion, MCB Camp Pendleton in 1997. Good times. I wish we had overhangs above our guard stations at the gates.
Thank you For Sharing this video Command Sergeant Major
I did'nt know that there are also civilian US Marine Police.
Yep! Every branch has their own civilian police force for the bases.
@@TellurdogIsayhi I thought it was DOD Police for every branch???

Theres never any openings. I just want to chill out for a bit after I get out.
@Di Bo Chet Nope, The only openings they have are on 29 Palms and Bridgeport.
@@holycanoli1937 Bridgeport 29 palms and there was one for Barstow
@@holycanoli1937I turned down a job at MCRD San Diego , I believe it’s still up on USA Jobs ,
There are openings now in the navy police

I thought DOD Police were the only civilian law enforcement on bases.
I believe these guys are under DOD police
DOD Police is specifically for DOD facilities. Each branch maintains its own police force, however they are confusingly (and incorrectly) referred to as DOD Police sometimes.
@@IffyEdemthey are
If a civilian commits a crime on a military base then the Civilian (DOD) police handle it. They need to expand their employment background checks I.e., child support records. An addendum to one of the Regs wavers drug testing….bad, bad idea-especially for steroids.
If you don't mind me saying, it's a low-paying job with high turnover. Most of their duties are working gates and checking ID cards. It's as much law enforcement as being a school crossing guard. It's good for very young people trying to build a work history, or retirees to keep active.
Why is there Marine Corps Police and Marine Military Police?
One is a civilian federal law enforcement the other is an actual (used to be) MOS but it's most marine MPs are men and woman who are about to get out of the military so they serve as MPs till they get out
@@matthewornelaz-perez5855 It still is a MOS. So don't spread misinformation.
There is A shortage of MPS.

A 401K in a law enforcement position lol. That is garbage along with that starting salary. Any applicant well qualified for this position should consider local, state, or other federal law enforcement positions. At least most of those here in Pennsylvania come with a 20-25 year pension, full benefits, Union, and you'll actually do cop shit. Not just stand at a gate (glorified security), or be the Gopher for the MP's. If all you do is get off to issuing a traffic citation once in awhile, then your not a cop lol. I was looking at transitioning from my local police position to these jobs. However after hearing that crap, no thanks, I'm way better off lol.
I agree with your comments. However, when I was with LAPD Harbor Div, I would often run into DOD police officers from Fort Mac in San Pedro. This was in the 90s. Unfortunately, when speaking with these officers many had background issues which prevented them from being hired by local, county or state agencies. The DOD seemed to be more understanding when it came to backgrounds, especially when hiring vets.
What was the starting pay
@@CaliTexNative If you look on the USA Jobs website. It will list all of these so called federal police jobs. I.E (VA Police) Veteran affairs, DOD, Indian Affairs, DLA etc. almost all of these jobs pay way under the local counterparts, and do not offer 20 year pension plans, only 401K's and TSP's which is not as good. The Veteran Affairs Police Department at my local VA hospital I believe started at 37,000 or 38,000 with no pension lol, No thanks lol.
@@stetsonspurs4680 thanks for the info. I was looking into it for once I retire & so I can live on Camp Pendleton. I cant afford to retire from TX and move to SoCal. I just the SoCal life without an expensive mortgage 😂
@@CaliTexNative I hear you there! stay safe, and I wish you best in your decision after retirement.
Are they there to arrest people's wives when they go psycho?
No but they will give you a ticket for going 2 miles over the speed limit
@@graveland2333 sounds legit to me lol
@@graveland2333 fucking ay man. Had one flip out on me back on Pendleton in 2012 before I got out that year. I told him to chill and that he did not have to fear me as I said "You're the one with the sword, so who should fear who?" Fucking dudes treat marines on their own base like terrorists.
@@grzegorzbrzeczyszczykiewic5659 did you not read my fucking reply? I was stationed on Pendleton for my whole contract as a 0311 with 2/4 E. Those civilian cops are trash.
@@returnfreedom you are trash civilian police are great deal with it Cry Me a River I thought I saw you at Stargate command Headquarters with SG-12
Police on military bases are basically mall cops with guns
Bingo
Exactly 💯 "glorified security"
They have powers of arrest and issue citations. Malls cops do not.
@@BW-kv9wj Yeah, but their garbage. This is where people go who either can’t get hired as a real cop, or just want the title without the actual work. Well qualified applicants for law enforcement aren’t beating down the doors for these jobs. Because they know the pay, opportunities, retirement, etc are all better with state, municipal, or real federal agencies such as (FBI,Capital Police etc.)
@@stetsonspurs4680 Do and retired cops work there to double dip? So, there’s no benefits?
Grele$
You should teach them how to deal with people that Are Exercising their First Amendment right under the Constitution of the United States by Doing a First Amendment audit on the civilian side of the gate I've seen first-hand military police violating people's constitutional rights when they're doing any First Amendment audit when they're standing across the street from the base you might want to teach the military police on how to handle them just trying to be helpful
These aren’t military police foo! They are civilians.
Or or get this, maybe go get a job and stop wasting everyone’s time with your little pansy camera on record.
