- On the 247th birthday of the Marine Corps, one boot reservist Corporal decided to take his camera to the annual ball and have some fun :)
Hope you guys enjoyed the video, and nothing in this video was meant to be serious. This is all fun and games and we make fun of each other because we’ve earned the right. The more we pull on each other's strings, the tighter the bond between service members!
And besides, there’s no point in arguing over which branch is better or worse, because in the end at least we can all agree that we’re better than the coast guard 😂
Happy Birthday to all Marines out there, and Happy Veteran's day to all that have served and are serving!
My goal with these videos is to entertain, educate, and inform military members as well as people that are interested in joining or learning more about the military. If you want to stay up to date with future videos, please consider leaving a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! :)

I am a retired Army Apache helicopter pilot. Some Marines were pinned down in an ambush in Afghanistan. I was coming off mission with minimum 30 mm and Hellfire missile ordnance. I had to attack the enemy at low level because of mountainous terrain. I was shot down. Those wonderful Marines left their cover, to provide us with fire support and assist in extracting myself and my gunner from the aircraft.
Sure bud...

Sounds like an awesome movie bro! What’s it called!?
a bit too complex for a gay movie, but sure tell us the rest

I came into this video with no expectations but I love it. I enjoy hearing these dudes be normal people it’s very inspiring
« Be normal »? You realize they’re normal people already right? 😅
Good to see positive energy in here but as an old school NCO, I didn't see anybody that looked battle ready. Used to see marines with no necks and raspy voices but honestly the group in this video looked lighter than the Air Force NCOs I seen on my last deployment. I couldn't take any of their opinions seriously regarding other branches as it appears none of them actually deployed in wartime environment working with the other branches. Once that happens, everybody respects one another.
@@climatepurification ok OId man
They are POGS and are reservists. No offense to reserve and support personnel. They are extremely important to to war fighting. But they are not as broken down like an 03 on active duty. That’s why they sound a bit softer and similar to normal civilians.

I'm a retired from the Army. These were great questions and genuine answers. I wish I had some of this advice before I joined and during my early years.
I love the down home humbleness of all these Marines. More power that they are all super intelligent, self supporting and industrious. The commuity they live in are all the better with these quality human beings. Thank you for your sevice!!
Semper Fidelis and Happy Birthday! This was an excellent video to watch. I recognized 4th LAR, and I wanted to say I had the pleasure of working with some Marines from Delta Co back in September supporting Unitas. A great bunch overall!
Thanks Anthony!
Neat video. My dad and his father were active duty enlisted Marines. My great grandfather (their grandfather and father) was a Marine commissioned officer in the reserves who was activated for WW2 and was stationed in the South Pacific. Pretty neat to see all of these Marines enjoying themselves for the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day.
Are you in the military by chance?
I have ancestors all the way back to the revolutionary war that fought for this country.
@@ltaithegoat No
@@rjmurphyo0 I recently uncovered that my great grandfather had been involved with the Corps of Engineers and Air Service/Air Corps in the 1920s. He took a year off school after getting commissioned as an Army Reserve Officer. Later he applied to be a Flying Cadet. He made it thru the first course but the second (flight) course lasted halfway thru as he dropped out. He finished out his commission. Then about a decade later, due to a reduction of pay in his civilian career, he became a Marine Reservist, and was involved with the intelligence community. After discovering his past as a flying cadet, he was given an executive officer position within Marine Aviation which lasted until his retirement.
As a 15+ year Army Reservist with multiple deployments I thoroughly enjoyed this video and hearing perspectives of these men and women. We serve in different branches but were all on the same team fighting the same fight. Respect for all members of the military!!!
Happy Birthday to all of the former, present, and future Marines. I retired from the Air Force in 1995 as a Boom Operator having flown on KC-135’s and KC-10’s. I had two memorable experiences with the Marines while on active duty and after I retired. While on active duty, we had to do a fighter drag with 5 KC-135’s bringing 15 Marine F-4’s and their C-130 support plane from Guam back to Hawaii with a week layover on Wake Island. That was an adventure in that the poor island didn’t have enough beer and alcohol to sustain us the first day there. They ended up bringing alcohol from Hawaii to keep us entertained the whole week. Needless to say, the Marines generously entreated the Boom Operators during the entire week knowing that we had to get them across the ocean to Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, which is now called Marine Corps Base Hawaii. I’ve refueled F-4’s, F-14’s, and F-18’s over the years, and they were always thankful for that Tanker being on station.
After I retired, my coworker and I had to pleasure of teaching Marines Network Administration for MARFORRES. The standing joke on day one was ‘what can a Navy sub rider and a retired Air Force Boom Operator teach Marine Corp personnel?’, and our reply was, ‘you tell us in two weeks’. During those two weeks, we taught them everything that they would ever need to know about computer network administration, to include being ready for their certification, and they learned to have respect for the other branches of the military. So yes, all branches of the military can work together.
It was an honor to work with the other branches of the military, (the Navy at Diego Garcia, the Marines Corps at Camp Pendleton, Miramar, and Iwakuni, and the Army in the country of Oman), during the 21 years that I served in the Air Force. Every branch deserves recognition and respect, and only those who have served can join in the cross-service banter that we do. For those thinking about joining, any branch that you serve in, do it proudly and with respect, as they all will make you a better person. Having served during Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm, I’d do it all again if I had to. Very nice video!
100% agree that only those that served can participate in the banter hahaha
Great video man, It's good to hear the perspectives and thoughts of other branchers from the Marines, I am Australian with a lot of british and Australian family members serverd in the first and second world wars, Vietnam, The Gulf war and peace keeping operations and the trade embargo on Iran, with an uncle who served in the Australian commando regiment and was deployed to Afghanistan 3 times before leaving active duty. Thanks man and although it's a little late, happy birthday marines from your friends from down under.
I joined the Marine Corps infantry as a machine gunner 0331 and I honestly would say I didn't exactly "enjoy" it but I'll always be proud that I did serve and they truly taught me how to push myself beyond my limits. I loved carrying and shooting the biggest gun on the field but god damn those things were a bitch to clean aferwards lol
Happy Birthday, Marines. Got a kick out of your video. Yeah, I know it was all tongue in cheek -- but I can remember the days when it wasn't. Ah, the wonders JRTC (and the concept behind it) hath wrought! During my first tour in RVN, I commanded a SF "A" team in "I" Corps. That was Marine country. Ran a lot of recons for you guys. Seriously good troops. Lots of inter-service training now. Heck, when it was time for me to go to the War College the Army sent me to the Marines War College. It was great. I even managed to finish coloring all the books! 😂 Semper Fi, Marine.
This is actually better than that recruitment ad they did a couple years ago.
Good to know Marines are going strong.
You deserve more subs, man. This was awesome and thanks for your service
I've been in 11 years total. 9 in the Marine Corps and 2 years in the Army so far. I'll be in the Army for another 9. I've had positive experiences in both and I love both.
Knew a Marine sniper instructor that made the move to Air Force as an E-6, he lost his real voice years back and could run with the best of em. Said he just outgrew the marines and didn't regret making the change.
Love that everyone here is humble. I'm in a highschool NJROTC, and I'll be honest- everyone is extremely cocky and likes to just poke fun (and I mean- actually hurtfully) at each other if anyone chooses to go into any other branch then the Marines or Navy.
It's just nice to see people that are actually humble and know they're out they're and respect other branches for just doing the job they were assigned.
Bruh they're not even in and disrespecting other branches? Until they're officially in, than they can shit talk. BUT the fact they're doing that now, I wouldn't trust them in any leadership position. Every decision they'll make sounds like it'll be based on bias. Blue Falcon energy for sure

Im currently in the army as a mechanic. One of my favorite memories with the Marines was when their mechanics and our mechanics worked TOGETHER to get our trucks up and running at Fort Irwin. Both worked late nights and early mornings and learned a lot from one another.

Great video ! I support all service branches with a special affinity for the Marines because my younger brother retired as a Master Gunnery Sgt. I retired from the Air Force in 1998 (E7) having spent time in Vietnam as Pararescueman (wounded) and then joining the AF Reserves as a C-5 Crew Chief. BTW - I had a few Marines transition into the AF and go thru the Pararescueman pipeline. They told me it was the hardest training they had ever done.

PJs are no joke, old marines might know this but hard to say the younger marines would. In my experience, a marine isn't a marine until they got a solid combat deployment under their belt; until then, any opinions coming out of their mouths is just hot air. The marines (or any branch) that sees combat smile less and don't chat it up with people they don't know as often.
Every branch serves it's purpose. We all support each other when in combat. I myself graduated from infantry school at Ft. Benning Georgia class of 2004. The military has changed in many ways and I feel not for the good. I hope and pray we are able to defend ourselves when the crap hits the fan.
Agreed! We all pull together. Army here, '77-'79 and '91-'95. I too, am somewhat concerned over the actual readiness and resiliency of the Military today. If they begin to falter, I guess my 60+ year old carcass will just have to suit up and boot up! God help us then!
Ft benning class of 2007 here . Before unlimited phone calls and stress cards lol
Oorah Marines. I whole heartedly appreciate y'all's sacrifice to our nation and it's people.
I served with some Marines in MP school at Ft. Gordon 73. Damn good drinking buddies. We kid each other about what branch is better but by the end of the day we respected each other.
That's pure fact. I remember when I got out and was excited when I met someone who was Air National Guard. This might sound funny but I then realized that there really aren't many veterans out there per capita so running into some random military member is awesome. Talk shit to each other but never let a non veteran say anything.
We had Marines at fort Lee VA quartermaster school US. Army base they were always bragging
I also served in marines 74, 95 charlie or 3851 corrections then to USDB Levenworth KS.
The branches is like a sibling relationship. We all are part of the same family, but love to talk shit about each other.
My son has been in for a year now. As a family we are learning a lot about military life.
That’s awesome!

For me it’s odd seeing E4 And up with a few medals. I was an E3, 0311, and had 6 medals and 3 ribbons including the purple hart, I was shot in the shoulder in Marjah Afghanistan. Today actually is the 12th year since I was shot. I was with 2bn 9th Marines when I was active duty 2007-2011.

@@joeynguyen And you for yours. During that deployment to Afghanistan we lost 16 KIA and 300+ WIA. I still think of the men we lost to this day.
Amount of medals no matter your rank is not important. I as a E3 have only one medal. I went to Vietnam and participated in the Saigon evacuation
And installed C4 explosives around the embassy compound.
Now tell me one medal is not enough. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
