Hey guys! Just a heads up so there is no confusion the chart in the video is actually for the DVO Emerald! Here is the Diamond guide (tech.dvosuspension.com/setup/diamond/) 120-139lbs | 54-63kg 90-100psi OTT: 0-2 rotations 140-159lbs | 64-72kg 100-110psi OTT: 2-4 rotations 160-179lbs | 73-81kg 110-125psi OTT: 3-7 rotations 180-199lbs | 82-90kg 125-130psi OTT 6-8 rotations 200-219lbs | 91-100kg 130-135psi OTT 7-9 rotations 220-239lbs | 100-108kg 135-140psi OTT: 8-10 rotations 240+lbs | 109+kg 140-170psi OTT: 11-14 rotations
This is actually the best DVO fork explanation out there. Very helpful, thank you. I have a DVO Diamond on my bike and I was trippin cause the HSC doesn’t seem to click and the DVO site doesn’t explain what distance a click consist of. The fact that the HSC doesn’t have a noticeable click but is described as a click is a very frustrating oversight. Love 99% of everything about the DVO fork but I wish the engineers at DVO would’ve made some type of indication on the fork for HSC adjustments.
Great video, thank you for all the detail. One thing I struggled with at first was the OTT direction. Clockwise, counter-clockwise, less or more I couldn’t figure it out being a heavier rider. I believe all the way counterclockwise, or left, will bring you back down to zero. And then turn clockwise, or right to increase the OTT. Even as I type that I am still confused lol
Completely sold on the Ripmo AF now. Been eyeing the Ripmo for about 2 years but never had a chance to demo the bike or any DVO suspension. Being a heavier rider, 220lbs, I've identified with having difficulty in finding that sweet spot with my suspension. Hearing about this OTT setting seems to be a game changer! Thank you for all your reviews Mo!
I have a 1st gen DVO Diamond on my Mach 6 and it is awesome I had it on my M5.7 and it moved to the new bike with no hesitation. The guys at DVO are really helpfull with any questions and happy to answer emails. One other adjustment to consider is air spring oil volume, if you service your own gear you can tweak the air spring ramp up by adding a bit more oil during the rebuild. Also with the HSC as the clicks are so vague I just use fractions of a full turn for my reference. E.g. 3/4 turn in from fully open.
Yours and other things I've learned about DVO are a big part of why I'm considering a custom bike build so I can just pay once for parts I actually want and not have a lesser stack of parts I paid for and replaced. Once I decide on my frame I'll be reaching out to them for fork and shock selection. I have a Rockshox Judy now and it's been really hard to tune it because their weight scale stops 50ish pounds lower than my weight with my gear and water. Thanks for making a video showing off and explaining the DVO fork.
This video is MTB god sent. Not much help on this particular fork on You Tube. I followed the online setup instructions as best as I could. I was not getting that small bump sensitivity I was looking for. I found it now thanks to you! Keep up the fantastic work!! I love my Ripmo AF!!!!🚵🏼♂️💨
Thanx for he set up guide! I,m a RS guy on my other bikes but now probably getting a Diamond for my new carbon Ripmo (V1). The hesitation was on how complex DVO looks, but you made it a lot simpler and easier to bite the bullit. Being 95kg I can use the OTT
Like many of the comments, I too have a Ripmo AF and this video was exactly what I needed. Got my shock pump in my hand so I’m going to rewatch the vid and give it a go.
I got a DVO Beryl fork at Christmas to go on a new Canfield Nimble 9 2020 frame that should arrive sometime in the next month, so not had the chance to test them out yet. All I need to do is drop the travel down to 150mm. I’m hoping it’s as simple as the instructions look! Thanks for the ott tips Mo.
I can use all the help I can get on my Ripmo AF suspension. I am new to the mtb world and it is quite confusing at times. More info on this topic would really help me, including practical tips on "Dialing In" as I move forward.
Great information Mo. My DVO Diamond and Topaz T3 were both tuned for my riding weight of almost 300 pounds. The guys at DVO did an awesome job on this tune. Fine tune the rest in the field and suspension is incredible. I don't believe you can get this service from any other company with the same quick response time and from a team that cares about each of their customers!
Best description of OTT set up I've ever seen. Wish I knew to take the air out of the fork to set it when I dialled in my Diamond! I set up my Sapphire tomorrow, I will be using your process, thank you very much!!
I have the Onyx. Rode a whole year with the OTT on 12 full turns cause I’m 220 pounds. Just tried 10 full turns and it way more plush. Starts moving easier. It had sticktion or just wouldn’t start it’s movement without a harder hit or pushing down hard.
Thank you for the Video, just got the Ripmo AF, love it ... working on dialing in my Fork , rear is good to go ... Fork part of find confusing because of the dials in the High and low speed compression... ugh... not sure if I got it right ... but will go out and give it a whirl..
Thanks for this! I just got my Ripmo AF yesterday and plan to start tinkering with the suspension tomorrow. I'd love to see a video on explaining/tips on how to tune the front and rear shocks to work well with each other and whatever back and forth process there is with that. Also low-key commenting because I want some merch too! Thanks man!
Fortuitous timing, guys! Just got my AF a week ago and I've been getting it dialed in. This gives me a little more info for getting it perfect. Nice work!
Mo, you are awesome! Love your vids and real world point of view! I just got a Ripmo AF, primarily becuz of your feedback and you taught me how to setup my own fork now
Great job mo most times you hear someone explaining fork setup im even more confused after. Love the looks and reviews on dvo will definitly be buying once ive saved up some money. Stay safe hope you can soon get moving to cooler regions.
So my question is about compression for preventing the front wheel from compressing too much when going off the lip of a jump. I assume that would be low speed compression. Would I set the low speed compression lever to be stiffer for this scenario?
Super pumped you did this as I just brought home ripmo AF Tuesday. You been super helpful and hopefully you go over the topaz settings also. So far on the few rides the bike rides well. Just need to get use to the heft even know it doesnt like a pig.
thanks for the vids. definitely contributed to me purchasing my AF, which just got here last week. ***anyone else get jealous seeing how easily MO can turn the HSC adjuster? for me, its both hands pinching and turning to get it to budge.... not even close to hearing any clicks/detents. its not near the end same deal turning it either way.
Second! :D Edit: Running both the Diamond and Topaz on my V1 Ripmo. Thanks for spending time on and breaking down OTT. That's been the most confusing thing for me to get set up. Time to do some experimenting!
Big thanks from a brand new super happy Diamond & AF owner! If you could do this with the Jade-X that would be so awesome. I have it pretty dialed but at the same time think that I've just scratched the surface of what this bad boy actually can do.
I just went through all of this on my Ripmo AF (the day before you posted this video). Called DVO to figure out how to set HSC. My only problem now is that I'm 150 lbs. but i have the 500 spring on my Jade X. Waiting on the 400 from my bike shop.
Nice bike. Hello question please, I'm 185lbs. I have a 2021 DVO d1 suspension and I was trying to set the sag but it wouldn't even go down with only 80psi. I feel like it's sticking somehow. Thank you
I scrolled down the comments looking to see if anyone has asked for this yet 🤣 I'm starting to think Mo is trolling us lol! A video on DVO suspension with the Jade X clearly visible behind him and... He's talking front forks 😭
Picking up my ripmo AF this Saturday, super pumped. This video will help out a lot. Love your positivity and enthusiasm for the sport. Looking forward to your thoughts on the jade, I went topaz.
Thank you!!! Just remember that the chart in the description is the correct one for the diamond on the AF! The chart in the video is for the emerald! You will love the bike, let us know how it is!
Excellent explanation. I'm looking to get a DVO Diamond fork and this really helps with my decision making. Thanks. Oh, free DVO swag would be awesome too. :-)
Hey Mo, Question regarding the different tunes from Ibis and from DVO. Ibis has their "Traction Tune" which is very light and varies very differently than that of what DVO recommends (I have an Onyx SC D1 on my AF). Curious if you've experimented with the two tunes and how they compare for the Ripmo AF. My assumption is that the Ibis tune is the way to go but not sure. Looking forward to testing these out for myself, this is by far the most advanced suspension I've ever had! IBIS Traction Tune: Sag: 30% Pressure @ 180lbs: 57 (55 + 4% for more aggressive riding) HSC: 4-5 rotations LSC: 2-4 LSR: 25-30 clicks OTT: 4-6 DVO Setup Guide: Sag: 20% Pressure: 85 HSC: 1-2 rotations LSC: No real number given, basically they say it depends on the terrain and for uphill go with 6, downhill go with 1 LSR: 10-14 clicks OTT: 8-10
Helping my buddy setup a diamond D1 fork. Does OTT affect sag %? In other words, does it matter if I setup OTT before or after sag? I’m not sure if I need to close/open the OTT before measuring sag, similar to the way you need to open all compression valves for Fox forks
Just got my ripmo af. This video was a big help. My only issue is I can't feel our hear the clicks on the hsc like you stated in the video. About how many turns from 🐢 would you recommend for a 200lb rider?
Nice video Mo. Love my DVO suspension on my Ripmo AF! Super curious as to how the Jade X rides and I am wondering if I should have gone with that vs. the air shock. Air shock rides super good though! I was not aware of setting up the OTT before putting air in my fork. Heading out to the garage to start over from scratch. Haha. OTT is a huge benefit for a burly clydesdale like myself weighing 250 lbs.
Just got a Ripmo AF X-Large with the coil. I clock in around 210 and I will say the coil seems to have a consistent feeling all the way through the stroke, which I like. No bobbing or rear end pop like I have experienced on some air shocks.
This is the best set up video I’ve seen. I got my Ripmo AF this week and after one ride I’ve noticed things are a little firm . I set it up exactly from the manual .after watching this I can now tune it . Thanks Mo ...Mick 🤘
Great video! Just got a V2 with an Onyx ... my OTT dial is really stiff to turn with the 5mm (no air in fork)... is that normal or is it supposed to be pretty easy to turn?
Big fan of the channel. Is there a way to tell where your OTT setting is at? I am about the same weight as you but when I just put my palm on the handle bar (without sitting on bike) I feel the OTT give a little so I am guessing it needs another click or two to get to 7. The LBS set it that way and said it was right but I am not sure. Would the settings be different for the HD5 "Traction tune" or are the numbers the same? Thank you
Hi I live in Melbourne Australia looking at my first dual shock mtb which is 2019 giant trance advanced 0 it comes with DVO suspension. Lots of ppl say stick with rockshox or fox but I like the sound of DVO any thoughts ?
Hi Mo, The guys in the shop set up our DVO suspension and it has been riding well at those settings. Will play around with the settings after watching this (once we can get the bike out of lockdown). Very useful vid.
Question, do you ever reach an end point on the Ott? my fork was already set up and it seems to never find and stop point on the adjustment leaving me unsure of where i am in the range. I'm alittle worried cranking on it to far.
I just figured this out actually (I had the same question and concern). After I released all the air out of my fork, I just kept turning the OTT until I finally reached an end point. So I used that as the starting point and did full rotations from there.
boost and non boost refers to the width of your front axle. 142mm is non, 148 is boost. pretty sure the only difference in the two forks is the width of axle that it fits.
Hey guys! Just a heads up so there is no confusion the chart in the video is actually for the DVO Emerald!
Here is the Diamond guide (tech.dvosuspension.com/setup/diamond/)
120-139lbs | 54-63kg 90-100psi

OTT: 2-4 rotations
160-179lbs | 73-81kg 110-125psi
OTT: 3-7 rotations
180-199lbs | 82-90kg 125-130psi
OTT 6-8 rotations
200-219lbs | 91-100kg 130-135psi
OTT 7-9 rotations
220-239lbs | 100-108kg 135-140psi
OTT: 8-10 rotations
240+lbs | 109+kg 140-170psi OTT: 11-14 rotations
Awesome MTB you down with OTT!? Yeah, you know me
ok i have diamond ; in any case the start is whith the ott completly open ?
ciao
My RipMo AF was the best purchase I’ve made!! The DVO feels so sentitive yet so supportive! Love it!
So awesome!!!
Yeah man. I went with the AF over the carbon to get the dvo set up.

You two totally convinced me to buy a Diamond 140. My LBS never ordered from them, and now they are convinced DVO is the coolest.

We will try to make that happen!!!
Nice guide! Had my RAF setup to what felt pretty decent, but went back to the start as I felt I was missing something. More air! Super dialed now!
Great video dude. I am one of those guys that never knows what to do with my suspension. Thanks for the thorough explanation.
Loved being able to see the cut out view of whats going on inside. Setting up my new DVO sapphire later today. Thanks for all the info.
Nice, perfect timing. Took my Diamond to the trails today to tune it up!
So awesome!!!
Fortuitous timing, guys! Just got my AF a week ago and I've been getting it dialed in. This gives me a little more info for getting it perfect. Nice work!
Cool, vid...I’m trying to learn maintenance and set up on these forks...just ordered a new bike with them
Thanks for the video! I really like the fork but struggle with set up. This will help a lot of folks.
Mo, you are awesome! Love your vids and real world point of view! I just got a Ripmo AF, primarily becuz of your feedback and you taught me how to setup my own fork now
My ripmo af will be here Monday. So pumped to play with this fork.
I’m here for the freebies!!
I kid. Love the channel and loving the DVO bits on my Ripmo AF! Thanks for breaking it all down for us Mo.
hahahaha!
Great job mo most times you hear someone explaining fork setup im even more confused after. Love the looks and reviews on dvo will definitly be buying once ive saved up some money. Stay safe hope you can soon get moving to cooler regions.
Great vid. It's cool seeing a big time MTB RUclipsr riding an aluminum bike.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video! Got my Ripmo AF this week and it was really helpful to have a visual guide to setup my fork.
Thank you so much for this information. I just picked up a Ripmo AF (named her Letty 😁) and now I can try and get her dialed in. Love your videos! 😍
At last a set up video that has ALL the adjustments explained, in layman`s terms CHEERS!
ps: Love my DVO Diamond :D
Sweet! I have the same bike and this is just what I need! Hopefully I can get mine more dialed after watching this!
So my question is about compression for preventing the front wheel from compressing too much when going off the lip of a jump. I assume that would be low speed compression. Would I set the low speed compression lever to be stiffer for this scenario?
My new bike has dvo diamond forks. Not a fork ive used befor. Still keeping hold of lyrik ultimates just in case 👍
Great video. waiting on my RAF now. Hopefully I will get it soon.
So awesome!!!

for me, its both hands pinching and turning to get it to budge.... not even close to hearing any clicks/detents. its not near the end same deal turning it either way.
You can use the LSC wound in or out to give you more leverage, was shown on a DVO tuning video a while back.

Edit: Running both the Diamond and Topaz on my V1 Ripmo. Thanks for spending time on and breaking down OTT. That's been the most confusing thing for me to get set up. Time to do some experimenting!
Hope it helped!!!!
I have one on order that should be here next week. This will come in handy.
Great guide, Mo! Thanks for talking about the setup on DVO products.
Hope it helps!!!!
This video was very helpful I just purchased the sapphire this is going to help me immensely!!
Big thanks from a brand new super happy Diamond & AF owner! If you could do this with the Jade-X that would be so awesome. I have it pretty dialed but at the same time think that I've just scratched the surface of what this bad boy actually can do.
Great video. Any idea why the recommended settings by Ibis are so different from what DVO recommends?
Thx for a great lesson. I’m looking forward to my Radon Cragger with a DVO sapphire d1. 🤓
Awesome video Mo, most information suspension dialing video I have seen to date. Keep up the awesome videos you guys!
Thank you very much Moe! i learned its better to let the air out to adjust OTT. You certainly are Moe Awesome than those "other" guy's!
I just went through all of this on my Ripmo AF (the day before you posted this video). Called DVO to figure out how to set HSC. My only problem now is that I'm 150 lbs. but i have the 500 spring on my Jade X. Waiting on the 400 from my bike shop.
by the way, the guy at DVO told me that for HSC a full turn is about 6 clicks, half turn is 3 clicks.
Also, are you going to do a set up video for the Jade X coil shock?
Nice it helps a lot thanks 🙏 how about the “air release” button? When do you use it?
I am wondering the same.
When you wont to lower the pressure in the fork right?
Great explanation , would love to upgrade my suspension some day. Love you guys.
So awesome!!!!
Thank you so much. I just bought an Intense Tracer and it definitely needs some tuning.
Very informative. Thank you for sharing your fork settings I’m around the same weight gives me a great base to start.
I am now going to go out and set mine up just like you recommended, thanks Mo!
Awesome man! Just keep in mind the chart in the video was for the Emerald! The diamond is in the description!
This is great tune 200lbs rider weight! Rebound and HSC especially.
Which models have the travel adjustment feature? It use to be an internal adjustment.
Well check with them!
Awesome video, hopefully we see a video on your bike's suspension soon. Especially on that coil shock
Thank you for inspiring me to ride mtb and keep on going!!
Nice bike. Hello question please, I'm 185lbs. I have a 2021 DVO d1 suspension and I was trying to set the sag but it wouldn't even go down with only 80psi. I feel like it's sticking somehow. Thank you
Looking forward to hear your coil Vs air comparison.
Coming soon!
@@moandhannahtravel Sweet :D

I'm starting to think Mo is trolling us lol! A video on DVO suspension with the Jade X clearly visible behind him and... He's talking front forks 😭
@@tomhawk733 lmao, any day now..... 😆
I bought the Beryl, great for bike park but heavy on trails. Great details on the Devo though
Glad you liked it!
Mo dude you and I have the same set up. , dvo diamond and jade x on a ibis RAF. I absolutely love my dvo.
Very helpful breakdown of this fork! Appreciate it Mo!
Excellent explanation. I'm looking to get a DVO Diamond fork and this really helps with my decision making. Thanks. Oh, free DVO swag would be awesome too. :-)
Hey Mo,
Question regarding the different tunes from Ibis and from DVO.
IBIS Traction Tune:
Sag: 30%
Pressure @ 180lbs: 57 (55 + 4% for more aggressive riding)
HSC: 4-5 rotations
LSC: 2-4
LSR: 25-30 clicks
OTT: 4-6
DVO Setup Guide:
Sag: 20%
Pressure: 85
HSC: 1-2 rotations
LSC: No real number given, basically they say it depends on the terrain and for uphill go with 6, downhill go with 1
LSR: 10-14 clicks
OTT: 8-10
Do you use any tokens? That concept is new to me and trying to figure out when I need to consider them
Helping my buddy setup a diamond D1 fork.
Great information, I really appreciate it. a lot of information really fast so I put the playback speed to 0.75x and that helped.
I just bought an Intense Tazer Expert with DVO Diamond and Jade Coil. Does DVO use volume spacers?
About of week of riding in of the ripmo. Time to tune it in.
Did you set the sag at 50psi or after you pump it up the the recommended psi for your weight?
Nice video Mo. Love my DVO suspension on my Ripmo AF! Super curious as to how the Jade X rides and I am wondering if I should have gone with that vs. the air shock. Air shock rides super good though! I was not aware of setting up the OTT before putting air in my fork. Heading out to the garage to start over from scratch. Haha. OTT is a huge benefit for a burly clydesdale like myself weighing 250 lbs.

Awesome Video Mo!
awesome guide thank you this is my first ibis mojo hd5 and dvo forks and you helped alot thank you
Great video I just ordered dvo fork this will help me a lot.
Hope I'm not to late for the merch! Great video btw
Is setup the same for a non-boost diamond!?
thanks - what pump do you use to avoid loss of air pressure? ride on!
Great vid! Super informative. Just got a Diamond and cant wait to setup.
why is my HSC knob so hard to turn? do i loosen the screw?
Does anyone know how to adjust the OTT on the Diamond E2 with internal OTT adjustment???
Great video! Just got a V2 with an Onyx ... my OTT dial is really stiff to turn with the 5mm (no air in fork)... is that normal or is it supposed to be pretty easy to turn?
Do you have to reset your air pressure each time you readjust the ott? Sorry if I missed it 🤘🏼🤪
Sweet video and breakdown guys 👌
I love my Diamond. I will be getting a Jade X soon for my Offering. And I need a DVO hat. 🤘🏻
Dvo all the way! Thanks for the video
What is the difference between the diamond boost and non boost, and do they feel a lot different
boost and non boost refers to the width of your front axle. 142mm is non, 148 is boost. pretty sure the only difference in the two forks is the width of axle that it fits.
