Regarding Gareth Edwards and his non-activity since, I think that it's just down to the fact that Star Wars is freaking BRUTAL to do, and takes a toll on filmmakers that isn't acknowledged enough by us audiences. Prior to The Force Awakens, JJ Abrams made five movies in a decade. Since The Force Awakens - he's made one movie in seven years. Star Wars made George Lucas retire twice. Lord and Miller haven't made a movie since. And so on. Jon Favreau made some interesting remarks in the Art of the Mandalorian Season 2 book, where he basically said that he doesn't want anybody on the creative or design side that isn't a fan who loves Star Wars deep down. And it's not for sentimental reasons, not because he wants to help fans live out their fantasies of making Star Wars, but it's because they have so much work to get through that it 'can't feel like work'. Favreau himself hasn't had a day off from Star Wars in four years. This franchise is a beast that chews up and spits out filmmakers, and that's something that we should always remember whenever a Star Wars project stalls or goes south. Great show - thank you to Kristian and Josh!

The thing with star wars, for me, is I'm done with the Skywalker/Obi story lines. We don't need them in live action. And if you're grouchy they tidied them up in animation, get over it. There are so many stories they could tell... With fresh characters... That still tie into the lore. The producers and heads off Disney/Lucasfilm are just too scared. I'm actually most ready for Star Wars to move past all of the legacy characters and storylines and move into a different era. I don't need to keep going back to the same eras and characters. That's one reason I've been digging the High Republic stuff (I know it has Yoda, but he's not a major character in it).

Just keep The Mandolorian for a few more seasons (at the level it's currently at) and a movie every 5 years or so and I'm good. Enough with all the spinoffs, less is more
outside of obi wan I've really enjoyed the recent star wars content, and hopefully with this surplus of content Lucasfilm is putting out maybe my dream of star wars having meaningful black characters will come true.
Thor 4 shouldn't affect Taika getting a Star Wars movie. Taika would never go this hard on the comedy in a Star Wars movie. This is the guy that made Jojo Rabbit, after all. He knows how to balance humor and heart. He just dropped the ball a little in Thor 4.

Now I’m like “Boba TV show? Ahhh skip…Mando Season 3…pass…Ashoka who??…Andor!?? Ssssskip!”
:(
Just keep The Mandolorian for a few more seasons (at the level it's currently at) and a movie every 5 years or so and I'm good. Enough with all the spinoffs, less is more

I enjoyed Solo quite a bit
Nice!
outside of obi wan I've really enjoyed the recent star wars content, and hopefully with this surplus of content Lucasfilm is putting out maybe my dream of star wars having meaningful black characters will come true.
Acolyte also!!
We shall see!
