I couldn't agree more with your overall take on mud tires! Like everything we humans do, the manufacturers just keep making more! More horsepower, more tread depth ect! Ive been lucky, my wife and I have 40 acers in New Hampshire and I have a pretty big excavator, so I get to make fresh mud to play in whenever the last hole gets bombed out! Keep slinging mud!!!

It opened the door to a whole new style of offroading that I though was a joke. Now I race in multiple series in the bike class. Though I'll always be a mud rider at heart!
Ok so have you been able to give a solid opinion on mud or really back woods riding with these I was leaning towards criptids . We don’t hunt mud down specifically but we have allot of Skeg and wet areas for sure mud areas
Ya I like then so far, handle great on the trails. High speed on road is pretty good for a mud tire, but they do hop a bit at higher speeds. They are 8 ply but the lugs are flexible.
Don I’m confused by your comment regarding the forward pattern tread. You mentioned that Cryptids are opposite and work better in reverse but they in fact also have a forward chevron pattern. So I don’t follow what you mean. Please explain. Btw, I really like these tires and the tread pattern. I’d like you to run some balance beads in them and see if they still skip around at high speed or if they behave better.
Cryptids have a reverse pattern. Yes the chevron points forward but as tire spins and grabs the ground the outside of the lug pattern is angled in reverse of the direction of travel. (Imagine an arrow head) In other words the lugs can't scoop the ground effectively compared to lugs that are directed forward.
Would you say they perform much better than the xm310 ??! I honestly hate myself bc I had a set of the ITP before they ever hit the market .. I purchased from a guy who got them from a warranty claim from a set of cryptids …. I got them CHEAP!! I ended up selling them for a little extra than I paid and got XM310… the XM310 is a bit lighter in weight … i don’t really have complaints with them . But kinda like you said , I like that Forward pattern …. I think the XM310 was discontinued, so I’ll get these next time …..

They definitely turn better than the XM 310s. Still too early to give n in depth review on these tires.

Not yet, there won't be much difference in H range. Low range would likely need some adjustment.
