I get the impression that Michael cared more about his friends than they cared about him, at least some of these celeb friends. I got a story for ya.. in 1979 Brooke and Michael came to Hillsborough NJ to visit Doris Duke (at the time the richest woman in the world) and they got bored real quick so Doris made a call to my uncle's house on the estate, he was the head of her gardens and greenhouses, she told him to send his two oldest boys who were 15 and 13 over to the mansion and they took Brooke and Michael hiking, fishing and bike riding through the massive estate... great story

Believe it or not, I met a bodyguard recently and he talked of meeting Joe Jackson (he didnt work for Joe or anyone in the Jackson family...he was working for another celebrity but met Joe) and he said that Joe's energy and just being around him...you felt he was evil. I met Brooke in 1989 or 1990 at an antique shop. She was super nice. I was in kindergarten. I think she actually pointed me towards the Beatles records!
I remember watch MJ on one of his rare interviews when he was relaxed and seemed to be honest and just before the thing about him being in love with Brooke. Anyway, in like two minutes he managed convey that he was hopelessly in love with her and it wasn't just a crush but like a dying kind of love for her. Then he like came to and realized he said something he wasn't supposed to say. And suddenly he remembered it was an interview. he was at.
Just remember before you judge, you love on so many different levels than just the romantic level, it's still love but it's different.
Of course that MJ, a part of him at least, couldn't believe how not only a person but a/your parent, could be so low, so cruel with his children.
