Thank you for a great overview of this Bernina Serger. I've never used a serger but feel the need to get one for finishing up fine scarves to upholstery and linens. Plus it is a nice seam finish for garments too. Bernina is the best sewing machine company and even with no knowledge of serger design and functionality, I can easily see that Bernina has put some thought into ergonomics and ease of use. Lots of little extras that make it a pleasure to use. Men make such a big deal of using power tools for woodworking, welding, etc. I have those skills. But sewing, knitting, and cuisine are much harder to do. 🤣
Thank you for this tutorial. I inherited a Bernina 2000DE serger a while back and while your machine is newer than mine, the basic principles are the same and this was very helpful.
I'm glad my video could help! We have several other serger videos and more coming out! So, be sure to subscribe to our channel. Here is a playlist of other serger videos, ruclips.net/p/PLmfp5aNSxEF0XpknSUq2oPg1Omebt1h2C
I believe you should have been offered a free class on how to use it. I haven't gone for my free class yet, I found this video extremely informative. Tip - a video showed taking your beginning chain in front of the foot to be surged over to lock in the tell. Then you can take a crochet hook and bring the finishing chain through the last inch of the serged edge stitches
love this video, you explain everything very clearly I subscribed and look forward to more videos. I don't live in PA but hope to find a local Bernina shop near me.
Hi Patti. Yes, that cut bin can be a pain to get off! I struggled with it when I first purchased the machine. But, you just need to lift it straight up and then towards you and it should come off. Happy Serging!
