Sometimes I want to cut off my hair and go permanently straight when I get frustrated with my curls. But then I see a video by you and I realise how beautiful curly hair is :) Keep up the videos.
I used to have 3B hair type but i was bullied big time for my hair pattern during my younger days. Now i'm learning to love my hair and grow it out. Be happy with what you have. Maybe the area you grew up accepted your natural texture for what it is. You're lucky and beautiful
Perita Rita omg that happen to me too when I was little, kids would make a big deal about my hair, I got picked on, things thrown at me, I couldn't understand it to me it was just hair. It also cause to stay to myself a lot. Kids were very mean to me
I agree there is no time frame for deep conditioning . I usually just wait until my hair isn't as moisturized as usual. It usually is after a week and a half for me. Yay for Sheamoisture! 💕💕
You are talking to me about a comment I posted 9 MONTHS AGO? As a natural hair blogger I think I am up to date on what's going on with products and brands. I was a sheabassador for SheaMoisture at the time. Thank you.
My fav diy deep conditioner is avocados, eggs and coconut oil. It moisturizes my hair so well and leaves it super shiny. i love the definition in your hair! My hair is up to my tailbone so it doesnt curl the way I want due to having so much and such thick hair, your making me want to chop off a couple of inches 😩 Would love to see curly hairstyles videos from you
I'm glad you didn't say coconut oil. Lol it's nice and everything but it doesn't work for everyone. I have such a hard time washing it out completely without leaving my curls weighed down and greasy! It seems like everyone loves it but I prefer a lighter oil like sweet almond oil :) my favorite deep conditioner is the one from the Shea moisture coconut water weightless line ❤️ it always leaves my curls moisturized, bouncy, soft and defined! It is perfect for my long fine 3a/3b curls :)
Yes same here! I just can't lol actually I don't really like using oils in my hair at all they are so difficult to wash out and weigh down my curls making them greasyl. To each their own
I know your hair is not heat damaged but can you please do a video on which products you'd use to recover from heat damage? With any supplements etc etc... I make your Spirulina smoothie everyday! I love it ❤️
Exactly. There's no way we would all require the same exact thing at the same exact time. We carry different bodies, live different lifestyles, and live in different climates. It would be extremely inaccurate.
I, actually, just started using Shea Moisture products a week ago. I know: I'm late lol. My hair has never been this soft or felt this clean. And I bought one of their masques last night. Not either of the ones you featured in this video, though. Trying to be serious about going natural.
You have been my inspiration for 4 years now, since I started my hair damage recovery. I have seen great results. Slowly but surely. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You don't know how much of a blessing you've been to me. I pray I can meet you one day. Much love & respect. God bless you manita. ;)
If you're suffering from Hair Loss, you should check and see if you're Anemic. I'm Anemic and I didn't even know that it was the reason for my Hair problems.
do you use a rinse out condition/regular condition to just wash your hair out/detangle, I normally shampoo then detangle with conditioner in shower then DC
I have been loving this summer. I have co-washed and deep conditioned my hair more. I can just leave it on for a couple of hours , then rinse . My hair is loving it. I will be trying the oils. Thanks for this upload Alba. 😊💗🌸
I always end up with so many screen shots from your videos, I like that it's so informative, and i never leave the page without checking your description box because there is always links for great informative articles THANK YOU Alba 💖💖💖
I'm doing a Shea Moisture Masque series on my channel right now and the JBCO one is next! Can't wait since you recommend it too! So many different hair types I've found like that one the most. I might try the anti breakage one too! Great video, I've def DC with all those methods before too! ❤️
I am a white dude with a 3b hair type. I just wanted to say a big thank you to my black brothers and sisters for teaching me how to maintain curly hair! My white folk failed me on this.
I like to deep condition my hair over night and wash it out in the morning. I usually do it on the weekends and my hair feels awesome afterwards. I definitely wanna try that Shea Moisture stuff!
Another tip to rehydrate your hair is massacring your scalp and ends with coconut oil I did this twice(once a day) and I could feel how much more moisturized it was
I love leaving my deep conditioner over night with a plastic and something else on like a t-shirt on my head. I love it because it's better for my hair rather than me leaving it for a few minutes , I never follow rules haha 😆 btw just a random question you used to make your hair look big and voluminous but now it's more controlled why tho? No hate or anything just asking , it still looks good.
i’m white and have really dry and frizzy hair that is different all over, 2c,3a,3b, my family all has 1c/2a/2b hair at most so they don’t know how to deal with my hair and neither do i (i was never taught correctly i guess) just recently i realized that my hair needs to be treated better but idk how! i’ve watched a ton of videos but it seems nobody makes tips about my kind of hair, please leave some tips or links for my hair please!!! it needs serious help
Thank you for your useful advices. I'm really a huge fan of you and I even changed my hair routines like wash n gos or just things like using a microfiber towel instead of a cotton towel. Thank you very much!!! Please never stop making all those great videos
About 2-3 Tbsp is fine but I don't measure it. I just eye it based on the cup size. There's no right or wrong amount. you could pour a whole bottle of ACV non diluted and it'd be just fine (but not necessary obv.) In the video you can see the small amount I added, probably no more than 1 once with 8 ounces of water added to the vinegar
I love your videos, but hate your partnership with shea moisture. All of their products make my skin breakout. I love your DIY videos most of all!!! Its truly the only reason Im here.
I wanted to say thank you for your video on your bathroom and products you use. You mentioned Mad Hippie. Well, I felt impressed to get the face cleanser. Thank you. I love it! I will be trying their vit a serum at some point. I love my skin care regimen, and this will be a part of it. Thank you much
Great video, love the diy's but when you were in your kitchen I noticed what appeared to be a stainless steel water fountain, if that's what it is can you say where you purchased, I've been looking for one, thks
I love the necklaces... Once a week I put coconut oil on my scalp and hair make a bun and go to the gym and workout then shower after does wonders for my hair
Hey Alba! I know you are the shea moisture queen lol and a lot of people have success with it but are there other affordable brands that you would recommend? My hair gets dry from build up from it and it does not penetrate my low porosity hair. I used to do homemade deep conditioning a lot but my baby has been very hands on with teething and developmental growth spurts.
Hi, Alba, i consider you my mentor in hair health and i wanted to ask your opinion: is it ok to put coconut oil on dry hair before straightening it with a flat iron? some people say it could "cook" the hair, others say it protects the hair, i use heat protectant but i was wondering.
Is this what has made your hair longer and tamed your curls. I really want to have mine natural but I find its not quite long enough to have the look I want. Any tips? Your curls look nice and tamed in this video
Hi Alba, love your videos ! I've been doing the finger detangling for some time, but I'd like to incorporate a nice comb or brush for days when my hair gets too tangled....do you have any specific combs or brushes that you would recommend?
Hey Alba, thank you for sharing your deep conditioning routine :) I wanted to ask you, where did you buy the microfiber towel for your hair?

Espero puedas responder. XoOxoO
Alba, can you please recommend some ideas and hair products for me? I have extremely dry, frizzy, split, curly, thick hair. I was my hair once a week and I do not use any hot hair tools. I been trying to grow my hair for the pat 10 years no joke and and they are still so short they wont grow instead they brake off. I dont know how else to grow them I have tried so many ways...
what kind of nutrition items would you recommend? I try to keep my hair healthy because I've done so many things to it! but nothing seems to work i wonder what i should be eating to help me with this thanks :)
Great video, Alba! I deep condition every wash day which for me is every two weeks. I just bought SheaMoisture's SuperFruit Complex 10-N-1 Renewal System Hair Masque last week since I never tried it. I love SheaMoisture's Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Masque, but am taking a break from it.
I have fine thinning hair that has different curl patterns throughout. My hair is just past my shoulders.. I've used Shea moisture dc Jamaican black castor oil , 10 in 1 renewal and the one for fine curly hair. Didn't like any of them. Any suggestions..? When I use them I've use enough that my hair looks totally white. Wondering if I'm using to much? Love your videos.
Thumb Up! Three Different Ways for Deep Conditioning for Every Need... .. . I Simply Love It!!! And I Still Love those Necklaces... Any Info or Video on Your Jewerly Will Be Awesome. Cuídate Mucho Alba!!!
Deep conditioners are always pricey. Any advice for a broke college student? Currently using the Shea moisture repairing mask, but it doesn't last that long
Hi Alba! Your tips have been very useful for me, I've been watching your videos for a long time. But now I have a problem I don't know how to deal with: A few weeks ago I did the DIY banana, eggs and oils homemade mask and my hair responded well, it was soft so the next week I applied it again, but I didn't obtain the same results... my hair didn't look as soft, looked a bit dry. The next week after that I decided to apply it without the egg to see if it was because of the protein in it and it went better but still it didn't feel as soft as the first time. What could it be the issue? protein overload? I'm using Giovani's TTTT Shampoo and Giovani's Smooth As Silk conditioner. When I started the journey and started using that shampoo my hair felt so light, I could definitely feel all the build up going away! I still feel the same but not as much so I guess I'm not having build up problems anymore but instead, my hair feels drier than usual after applying it. I have to mention I don't co-wash since I had dandruff problems. In addittion to that, I'm guessing my hair is somewhat low porosity, I swear it's almost impossible to get it wet! Followed the tips of the warm water to open up the cuticles but the moment I scrunch it to release the water excess it's like it's half dry already, I don't get it. Any idea of what could be the issue? :(
here in brazil we have a cheap mask to deep condition every time we wash our hair... and more expensive ones for once a week, also we use homemade ones.. with fruits and oils
Can we just use normal conditioner and use it as hair mask? Does the hair have to be wet or can we apply the conditioner mask on dry hair? Will it make a difference?
hi Alba, what DC would you suggest for someone who has gone thru a really bad protein overdose? I have been using vo5 berry conditioner and the shea moisture low porosity conditioner... but i think I will soon be ready to branch out to new products.
What’s the difference between deep condition on wash day and just normal conditioning on wash days? Should you deep condition every time instead of normal conditioner? Like do you deep condition every time you have a wash day?
+Katherine Lomax No. My hair is really dry, so it sucks up the deep conditioner or hot oil treatment. After I shampoo it out later, it is not oily at all. The curl pattern will be nice and defined and it won't be as frizzy.
Leena Lena I can't think why it wouldn't be safe to leave it on my hair, especially if I regularly leave mousse, gel, etc. in it all day. I guess in the rank of unsafe things in life, I would put my concern for this well below driving a car daily.
I used to do that in my hair, it worked very well. However I stopped using the tresemme brand because they aren't cruelty free (use animal testing). Shame though, I really liked their conditioner.
What products do I use for shampoo and conditioner I use keratin right now... also what type of leave in conditioner and deep conditioner do I use for the shower too
Hey ALBA! Hope your well!💫😘 I recently cut ALL my hair off so I can get a fresh start 'cause it was too damaged but I'm still feeling the same rough patch in the center of my hair/head. What do you suggest I do? To repair that part of my hair? 🙏🏾🙏🏾
How long has it been since you've stopped adding damage? And how long has it been since you've cut off the damage? This is an important factor because I'm not sure how long it's been and if you're expecting more than possible in a short time when it really took me 1 whole year of no heat no chemicals no straightening to fully get rid of the damaged hair. I do suggest you focus moisture on that section being your problematic area, and never apply shampoo or any drying agents directly on that area. If I were you I'd co-wash religiously, apply oil weekly before cleansing and apply oil after cleansing along with hydrating creaks to style in hopes of nourishing that area and putting lots of moisture focus there to stop it from drying out
+SunKissAlba I cut it last week 7/26 lol I literally have a boy cut but so worth it and thank you so much your suggestions sound awesome and very realistic/doable! 🙏🏾😘❤️👍🏾💫
What oils/products do you recommend to get rid of dandruff ?? I have an EXTREMELY dry scalp; no matter how many times I wash my hair my scalp will remain dry and FULL of dandruff 😖 Please HELP !!!!!!! I feel like my dry scalp is also slowing down my hair growth process as well 😔
+Cia Figueroa I think shampooing too often is causing your scalp to dry out. I have an extremely dry scalp as well, so I never shampoo my hair without applying some sort of oil first. This is what I do - once or twice a week, I apply a lot of coconut oil to my scalp and the length of my hair and let it sit for one or two hours. I have really thick hair so the applying alone takes me about 30 minutes. Then I shampoo it all out. You might need to shampoo it twice to get most of the oil out, but take care not to strip your hair of all of the oil. Then style your hair as usual. I never thought much of my hair - it still gets frizzy if I don't style it properly and my scalp gets flaky if I don't apply oil at least once a week. And then I moved to California (from India) and all the hair stylists I've been to here can't stop gushing about how healthy my hair is and warn me never to consider straightening. Just try oiling your hair with coconut oil for a month and see.
Also, I find that an ACV rinse after washing out the shampoo helps reduce the flaking and itching. A lot. Add 2-3 tablespoons of ACV to about 3 cups of water and rinse your hair with it. The water WILL stink but you'll soon get used to it. Then put your hair up and wash the rest of your body. Now rinse your hair properly (no shampoo!). Your hair won't smell of ACV, don't worry.
Hey! I'm trying to use silicone free/sulfate free/natural shampoo for my hair but every time I use them my hair feels dirty :( do you have any suggestions ? I love your RUclips Chanel !!!!
Thank you for your video! ❤️ Super informative! I don't know if you ever tried it, but what are your thoughts about Aunt Jackie's / Aunt Jackie's Deep conditioner (Coco Repair)?
why do you use apple cider vinegar as the rinse after you rinse out the mask? is it good for low porosity hair? I have low porosity hair and I always feel like the leave-in conditioner or anything styling products just sit on top of my hair, make it oily and frizzy :(
Sometimes I want to cut off my hair and go permanently straight when I get frustrated with my curls. But then I see a video by you and I realise how beautiful curly hair is :) Keep up the videos.
Your curls are perfection.
Yes 😍

Some people are just blessed with 3B hair type man. I wish I had that texture.
Kids were very mean to me
B You should love whatever texture you have
I have 3b hair !!!! What is your hair type ?
Man gtfohwtbs. 3B is not a "blessing" . It's just some fucking hair!
i am obsessed with your voice, like the way you speak idk it’s just amazing could listen to you speak all day!! so gorgeous all around
I agree there is no time frame for deep conditioning . I usually just wait until my hair isn't as moisturized as usual. It usually is after a week and a half for me. Yay for Sheamoisture! 💕💕
I agree
BeautifulBeginnings Little do you know how much Shea Moisture fails to support black women...
You are talking to me about a comment I posted 9 MONTHS AGO? As a natural hair blogger I think I am up to date on what's going on with products and brands. I was a sheabassador for SheaMoisture at the time. Thank you.
BeautifulBeginnings Sorry if I offended you! In no way I was trying to be mean. Just trying to support black women.Once again I'm sorry!!
My fav diy deep conditioner is avocados, eggs and coconut oil. It moisturizes my hair so well and leaves it super shiny. i love the definition in your hair! My hair is up to my tailbone so it doesnt curl the way I want due to having so much and such thick hair, your making me want to chop off a couple of inches 😩 Would love to see curly hairstyles videos from you
si ♡☆♡
I'm glad you didn't say coconut oil. Lol it's nice and everything but it doesn't work for everyone. I have such a hard time washing it out completely without leaving my curls weighed down and greasy! It seems like everyone loves it but I prefer a lighter oil like sweet almond oil :) my favorite deep conditioner is the one from the Shea moisture coconut water weightless line ❤️ it always leaves my curls moisturized, bouncy, soft and defined! It is perfect for my long fine 3a/3b curls :)
girl i have 3b 3c hair and my hair hates coconut oil. I wanted to love it but it's just not for everyone
and sweet almond oil is amazing. That and avocado oil
Yes :) finally someone who doesn't praise it like everyone else does lol
+Puertoricanbeauty22 I can never use coconut oil. it makes my hair and even my face greasy lol
Yes same here! I just can't lol actually I don't really like using oils in my hair at all they are so difficult to wash out and weigh down my curls making them greasyl. To each their own
Am I the only white girl who watches natural hair videos? I don't know why but I love watching them🤷
Corrin Jessen I’m white but I have natural hair....
Well I'm white and I have curly hair so... yeah.
If you mean the only straight haired girl, I dunno bout that.
Corrin Jessen hahah
Not white but have straight hair and watch these videos, they are so satisfying.
Ek Hatch she said curly. Curly & Afro are two totally different hair types. I know a handful of Caucasian women who have tight ringlet curls.
She is beautiful with or without makeup
I know your hair is not heat damaged but can you please do a video on which products you'd use to recover from heat damage? With any supplements etc etc... I make your Spirulina smoothie everyday! I love it ❤️
That's good, that there's no time frame you say and you should listen to your body! Good message.
Exactly. There's no way we would all require the same exact thing at the same exact time. We carry different bodies, live different lifestyles, and live in different climates. It would be extremely inaccurate.

The Shea Moisture Jamaican castor oil treatment really does work I used to use that with the creme of nature conditioner 10/10

These are great tips! I try to deep condition at least once a week👍🏼
Me too so do you shampoo-deep condition-conditioner?
+radioactive ood that's what I do and I always thought was the right order but I heard you're supposed to deep condition last
Bellamy Blake oh!.. i hope she sees this n get us the right order!
do you use a rinse out condition/regular condition to just wash your hair out/detangle, I normally shampoo then detangle with conditioner in shower then DC

I just got the anti breakage masque a couple days ago and today will be my first time using it.
how was it
Love your curls 😍 I definitely need to do an updated video on mine!
I have been loving this summer. I have co-washed and deep conditioned my hair more. I can just leave it on for a couple of hours , then rinse .

the way you just clipped your hair in the bathroom can be a hair style a classic one. It's beautiful.
I'm doing a Shea Moisture Masque series on my channel right now and the JBCO one is next! Can't wait since you recommend it too! So many different hair types I've found like that one the most. I might try the anti breakage one too! Great video, I've def DC with all those methods before too! ❤️

First, happy you support and use organic products. Second, if your eyes were green you would look like a sister to Noemie Lenoir. xx 🌺
Is a hot oil treatment another way of rehydrating your hair? Or is deep conditioning the only way?
Ugh!!! I am so jealous of her curl game! 😫
Another tip to rehydrate your hair is massacring your scalp and ends with coconut oil I did this twice(once a day) and I could feel how much more moisturized it was
I love leaving my deep conditioner over night with a plastic and something else on like a t-shirt on my head. VK K you should watch Manes by Mell deep condition video. She says never sleep with it.'it is not necessary
I have a question. Can I use a leave-in conditioner after a deep conditioner?
Kiana Patterson I do and it works well
I'm really liking the deep conditioner in the purple packaging. I really want to try the JBC mask since my hair loves the leave in.
Your hair is pure perfection!! :)
so is yours!!! Your so gorgeous 💓

you are so beautiful and your hair is goals!
What is the ratio of apple cider vinegar to water for the rinse? I love your editing style Alba, so original.
About 2-3 Tbsp is fine but I don't measure it. I just eye it based on the cup size. +SunKissAlba I want my hair to be curly and longer health
I was going to sleep, now I'm staying up! Love u Alba!!
This lady looks like a angel especially in that thumb nail
She is so pretty.🥺
Thanks for this Alba. Which clarifying shampoo do you recommend?
Can't wait to try this!!
I love your videos, but hate your partnership with shea moisture. All of their products make my skin breakout. I love your DIY videos most of all!!! Its truly the only reason Im here.
Should you apply hair oil at all before or after conditioning (and deep condition)? Second question: what if it's for dry hair and oily scalp?
I wanted to say thank you for your video on your bathroom and products you use. You mentioned Mad Hippie. Well, I felt impressed to get the face cleanser. Thank you. I love it! I'm obsessed with your curls!
Your curls are heaven!
I have 3C low porosity hair and I usually deep condition once a week.=)
Which shampoo and conditioners are you using now?? 🙏🏼 were you not happy with the ones from the brand "EO"?
I usually use coconut oil mixed with couple other essential oils and leave on overnight. works wonders for me.
Your curls are AMAZING
Great video, love the diy's but when you were in your kitchen I noticed what appeared to be a stainless steel water fountain, if that's what it is can you say where you purchased, I've been looking for one, thks

I love your videos and your life style so much! I get really excited when you upload. :)
I love the necklaces... Once a week I put coconut oil on my scalp and hair make a bun and go to the gym and workout then shower after does wonders for my hair
love your videos. I'm just getting into plants is their anyway you can make a video on upkeeping of house plants?

Hi, Alba, i consider you my mentor in hair health and i wanted to ask your opinion: is it ok to put coconut oil on dry hair before straightening it with a flat iron? some people say it could "cook" the hair, others say it protects the hair, i use heat protectant but i was wondering.
Adriana Kle not a good idea, only some oils can do that. I'd say just put it on afterward, like a dime sized amount so your hair doesn't look greasy

Yeah. Oh ok. Same here about using deep conditioners in replacement of regular conditioners.
If your just using regular conditioner, do you have to wash out with apple cider vinegar or can you just rinse with water?
I have fine thinning hair that has different curl patterns throughout. My hair is just past my shoulders.. I've used Shea moisture dc Jamaican black castor oil , 10 in 1 renewal and the one for fine curly hair. Didn't like any of them. Any suggestions..? When I use them I've use enough that my hair looks totally white. Wondering if I'm using to much? Love your videos.

What are the benefits of the apple cider vinegar rinse? Would love to try it out!
Love this video! You are always giving great clean and easy advice!
here in brazil we have a cheap mask to deep condition every time we wash our hair... and more expensive ones for once a week, also we use homemade ones.. with fruits and oils
what are the benefits of using a microfibre towel then a normal towel for hair
the normal towel would break off your hair and the micro towel won't do that.
Microfiber towels also reduce frizz.
My curly hair is gone bc I have been straining my hair since I was like 6 😭I miss it
Jeanette Santana the same thing happened to me, but after I stopped straightening my hair for like a long time, it went back to what it once ones
I tried your DIY recovery mask, and it does wonders 😻
Is Shea Moisture still black owned? If not, any suggestions on a similar brand?
Can we just use normal conditioner and use it as hair mask? Does the hair have to be wet or can we apply the conditioner mask on dry hair? Will it make a difference?
You are looking beautiful as usual, loving the accessories 😍❤️
would love to see videos on haircolor and your opinion on it. Starting to turn gray.
hi Alba, what DC would you suggest for someone who has gone thru a really bad protein overdose? I have been using vo5 berry conditioner and the shea moisture low porosity conditioner... but i think I will soon be ready to branch out to new products.
What’s the difference between deep condition on wash day and just normal conditioning on wash days? Should you deep condition every time instead of normal conditioner? Like do you deep condition every time you have a wash day?
I'm all about deep conditioning on the go.
It doesn't leave your hair oily?
I feel like my dry scalp is also slowing down my hair growth process as well 😔
Use tea tree oil! It kills bacteria and heals dry scalp.
But use a carrier oil with it or it will burn your scalp. So olive oil, castor oil, jojoba oil.
Shea moisture has a hair masque for dry scalp/dandruff. I use it once a week and It works really well
+Cia Figueroa I think shampooing too often is causing your scalp to dry out.
I have crunchy hair and this video really helped!
Hey! I'm trying to use silicone free/sulfate free/natural shampoo for my hair but every time I use them my hair feels dirty :( do you have any suggestions ?
I love your RUclips Chanel !!!!
Are they really effective for damaged hair from bleaching and dyeing?🙈❤️❤️
Hey Alba! Where did you get your hair towel? 😍
Thank you for your video! ❤️ Super informative! I don't know if you ever tried it, but what are your thoughts about Aunt Jackie's / Aunt Jackie's Deep conditioner (Coco Repair)?
Would it be damaging if i left my deep conditioner in while i go to the gym? Would the sweat mixing with it be a problem?
why do you use apple cider vinegar as the rinse after you rinse out the mask? is it good for low porosity hair? I have low porosity hair and I always feel like the leave-in conditioner or anything styling products just sit on top of my hair, make it oily and frizzy :(
