Lol daydreaming through this video xD
Active Listening is about being humble and willing to learn. Active listening is a human exercise full of returns. Thanks very much! Great short - concise video. I loved it.
Very simple but very powerful when you think about it!
I personally found all the information provided in the video, very helpful. I had to watch this video, as part of my online coursework, and I think that this will help me to re answer the question.

I think we need a 'how to video' on turning your head to look in the camera at the perfect time
I know what you mean when I am talking to someone my mind is already planning what I am going to say next. But if I was talking to you I would look into your eyes and listen actively.
Yes !
Sorry I only caught about half of what you were saying...
Guess I'll have to go read the article now... Lol on a serious note very good job condensing such an important skill into such a short video. Listening is not the same thing as waiting for your turn to speak. Effective listening is the key to effective communication.
Uh... I kind of wasn't listening to what she said. I may have problems.

Mam, I am very poor in listening programmes, how to solve it?
The more I try to listen the more I dissociate. I end up nodding along and look like I'm listening but completely dissociate half way through ughh
I get like that.
Remind me later
Hi Classmates!! It’s Pipo Bernal or Brent
Pipo you must be attending one of the top academic schools in the United States...because they allowed you to change your given name for a name that ignorant Americans will not learn. Bummer! I hated that when I was at Ohio State and international students were using Americanized names...sorry for our nation and sorry that it was done to you.
The information is "chock full of great listening skills" that will improve your ability to communicate.
Bravo
Yo what is the DNB track that is used?
Listen with the intent of understanding, not with the intent of replying

The iPhone has single handedly made active listening into a very scarce resource.
That's a really interesting point David. Given that, do you still think active listening is as valuable to us today as it was, say, 10 or 20 years ago? - Lucy Bishop, Mind Tools Editor
Rp sent me here
What if your speaker doesn't stop speaking.
Plzzz send me the subtitle of this video
Hi Mohammad
I've now added the subtitles to this video. If you click the CC button at the bottom of the screen, on the left-hand side, the subtitles should now display automatically.
Thanks for your feedback.

good but what if the other party start saying stupid or humiliating things
Hi Shareef, that's a really good point. The US president could learn a thing or two from this video, lol!
I have listening problem also.. I worked as a receptionist.. I worked here almost 1 year already, I still very struggling to understand what the customer are telling to me..
When there is a customer walk in to my office I will ask him.. Wat his name and Wat his company name.. The customer need to mention their company name 3 or 4 times for me to understand..
still some customer will tell their company name very fast and quickly.. Which will make me to feel hard to catch what their company name actually..
Sometimes I feel fed up and I will give the customer a piece of paper and I will ask the customer to write their company name in that piece of paper ..After they write I feel easy to inform to the staff or manager that there is a visitor coming from this company, his name is Jacob.. If the visitor just tell to me I feel it's so difficult to understand, sometimes visitors or customers use to See me very weirdly..
I know it's not professional by giving a piece of paper to walk in customer or visitor and ask them to write their company name all.. but sometimes I have no other way..
Hi Jasinta,
You may find some of our other articles on listening skills helpful. Mindful listening can be particularly helpful to concentrate your full attention on someone when they are speaking. You can find out more about it here: www.mindtools.com/pages/article/mindful-listening.htm

I'm only here because I have a moronic lecturer who insists we IT students should be focusing upon this crap. We would be better served learning about coding.
Does anyone else struggle with eye contact?
Yes, eye contact can be difficult to gage - what's too much? What's too little.
We have an article on Body Language which has some info on this and might be of help too: www.mindtools.com/pages/article/Body_Language.htm
What grade level was this, not very much info, unhappy!
