- Minecraft 24w14potato added a whole lot of blocks but the redstone blocks like the flotater are some of the most fascinating ones. Today we take a deep dive into the world of potato redstone to discover what the developers could possibly be hinting at and testing!

what kind of redstone related block would you like to see added??
I want a way to send a wireless Redstone signal between dimensions and long distances

I absolutely love the floatator! I would be even more in love with redstone with that baby added! New way to farm, elevators, travelator, parkour, probably some other uses that I haven't thought of. It's just magnificent! ♥

The Floater and the Flotato are potentially the biggest innovations into Minecraft ever. I hope they make it into Vanilla some day!
They will need nerfs to make then less op but they would definitely fit in for a end update.

I think the Floatator would be cool in a Sky City that sometimes spawns way up in the air. Then, you could use it for long travel & save your Rockets (& Elytra). Maybe Wind Charges should move it up/down a few blocks?
There could also be unique (or rare) loot in sort of ‘cloud buildings’.
Personally I think expanding the Sky limit for minecraft would be amazing.
Could have a Sky City like you mention high above the clouds, or Sky Village as it might be called.
Could showcase the use of Floatators (Or something like them) and give a new type of Villager.
Plus would allow for Builds to go much higher then normal allowing for more diverse builds that were limited in height before!

Yeah. They expanded the height quite a bit not long ago, & they said something about wanting to do something with the sky, but haven’t. I really hope they do something like this! It could actually fit really well & give a use to the extra space in the air (expanding it more might also be best).
@@Tyler_Skye77 Just think about the type of skyscrapers, ballons, towers, Flying Islands we could make without them being easily seen from the ground.
Or towers high enoigh that it's hard to see the end.

Am i dumb or could the potato battery be replaced with a campfire in a farm setting? It's also not a full block, does damage and can be disabled.

That floater block would be PERFECT for The End if they finally do a revamp of that dimension. I could totally see a corrupted endstone block like the vicious potato block spawning on end islands, which can be collected to make floater blocks
Maybe that could be just how blocks in the end work. You can just place them in mid air

Having the Flotater and is accompanying blocks in Vanilla would be AMAZING for adventure maps. I wish we'd have another adventure map revolution, I was looking around a while back for some but not really finding much with the depth I wanted.
A redstone recognizer would be awesome , a block you could connect to doors and would open the door when you walked up and only you not opening when other mobs walked up

I had come up with 2 new types of buttons, the iron button and gold button, the iron button would emit a 20 tick signal and the gold button would emit a 1 tick signal.
I know that the stone button emits a signal of 10 ticks (1s) while the wooden one emits 15 ticks (1.5s)
So if the iron one can be pressed for 20 ticks (2s) and the gold button can be pressed for only one tick could be very useful.

Bro legitimately forgot that campfires exists. SMH.
That floatater would be an interesting concept. Flying machines, elevators, conveyor belts, parkour, doors, etc.
It would probably need some hefty nerfing and fine tuning, as it looks like it could absolutely dominate bridges, ice highways, and even elytras.
Id use it to make a floating air ship for adventures and exploration, but it can definitely be nerfed. Maybe one single floater can only move a few blocks, adding more to a build will allow it to move more blocks. Or maybe an upgrade system to them, a fuel source could work too, maybe using coal or Redstone as a fuel source.
i would most want the flotater in 1.22 it would be the coolest and would increase creativity which is mc's whole deal
Love the floatater idea...would be very useful and fun
The floater could be a huge redstone saver for farms. Instead of making a bog standard flying machine for things like bamboo and sugar cane, which uses a lot of slime or honey blocks you just need the one.
Also the battery is a good mob farm killer that can easily be changed into an XP farm. The devs need to put this much effort into normal updates.
I would love to see the poisonous potatoe be used to craft a fermented potato with sugar and a red mushroom, and you can then use the fermented potatoe as a substitute for fermented spider eye. Itd finally give a use for poisonous potatoes and an alternative, farmable way to get a common potion ingredient

The flotater is kind of doing what the create mod does with moving entities! I’d love to see that come officially to Minecraft maybe in some other form because it is so cool!

the tazzer thing is basically a campfire without needing a shovel or fint and steel to turn it off and on but more variants of similar blocks is always good, just a pity the changed campfire to not cook meet

I think the floatater has infinite possibilities in Vanilla Minecraft. I hope they can add it to the game.
I wish this came to bedrock. The potato update looks more fun than 1.21. Grappling hook, new dimension with a boss fight, blocks you can place in the air, floating structures, it is awesome.
A lot of the reason there is so much in the potato update is cause it won’t come to bedrock. Bedrock is harder to code for cause crossplay. Therefore taking more time to work on.

My first thought with the floatater is Final Fantasy airship, or USS Enterprise, or mono rail, oorrr a zeppelin that moves back and forth between locations... would be cool

Well, the campfire can damage mobs, it's only half block tall and ca be turned on or off, even with dispensers, iirc
