I grew up with this song via Three Dog Night's version on 7 Separate Fools. Just found out this was the original version. Not to be confused with the Friends of Distinction song of the same name.
I heard this song, I thought it was the opening song for a movie. I ways in the service and onboard ship the last 24 hrs. before we enter port they show nonstop movies. I instantly knew it was 3 Dog Night, took me almost 10 years to find the song. Still can't find the movie. Apparently it wasn't this one. I thought it was Harold and Maude, but all the songs were by Cat Stevens. Can anybody help?
Yes, that disappointed me too when I bought the DVD. I imagine it was copyright problems, as you say, but it spoils the end completely for me; Three Dog Night's version is more dramatic and somehow more fitting with the score we've heard ghosting all through the film.
@@depelat1975 THAT "completely spoils the end" for you?! How infantile. You'll just hate to learn that the original ending had Zee and her husband sharing their prey.

This was the original version in X, Y, and Zee. I assume you mean the 3 Dog Night version was used on the soundtrack of a different film. Not sure.

Why has the original Three Dog Night vocal ben replaced? Copyright issues?
