How did this turn out? I was considering doing pretty much the same thing quite possibly with the newest version of the same chassis.

I know you have a short action there but it would have been cool to do a 25-06 hunting rig and then a 25AI prs rig. Maybe call it the "quarterback" or something just to keep it all .25cal

The biggest limitation there is getting enough rounds in a mag for a PRS/NRL stage. Most long action mags cap out at 5 while stages are 10-12 rounds.

@@marcushom6789 I didn't think about mag capacity. I have seen some 10rd long action magazines. I know I can get them for my howa 1500 but they are bulky and would be a pain to use in prone.

      Obsolete cartridge. No point

    • @kirkmartin2223

@@oso1165 there is no such thing as an obsolete center fire cartridge, just a different tool for the same job. The parent case has been around for over a century and the 25-06 started being chambered around 1919. In 2 years people will be saying the same thing about the 6.5cm or 6.5prc.....just look at the popularity increase of the 6cm and 6gt in the last year.
What I do believe is obsolete is your way of thinking. EVERY SINGLE RUclips GUN CHANNEL is doing something with a 6mm or 6.5mm especially the 6.5prc cause its trendy.
My original comment was about doing something that isn't being done by everyone else 400x a day. And to basically build 2 rifles off the same .257cal bullet.

@@kirkmartin2223 it is obsolete. Not common to find rifles for it, not common to find the ammunition for it, and there are other rounds that have come out in the last hundred years that are easier to find and do the job better. The definition of obsolete.
Stop watching guntube channels and thinking they represent what most people use.
