To the lady who was interviewed. She is absolutely correct Kroger needs to be held accountable and if they fire her I'm sure an attorney will pick up that case and she'll get a decent settlement.
@oldmancigars1869 I would agree, but it seems like they're not trying to "collect the overpayment", they're trying to collect the full amount back, plus interest and/or fees incurred. The employees do bear some responsibility as though. How many spoke up and said "You paid us too much" when it happened? I suspect most of them stayed quiet about it, hoping they would get to keep the extra money. The smart people would have put the money aside and not spent it because they know it doesn't belong to them.
@OldManCigars you missed the fact that they're taking more than they paid... You're probably the type is person that attributes anything that maligns you to "the woke agenda". It's called crying wolf. Get a grip, I'm sure the wokies don't care about you as much as you care about them. 😂😂😂
If they paid her 10,000 , she will only receive 7000 because of taxes. The IRS has the rest of the money. She will get it back once she files a tax return. Yea this system is stupid , but that’s how it works.
@oldmancigars1869 Roads are sort of easier to get around on lately too now that there are fewer drivers and fewer section 8 recipients clogging them up.....
Kroger, much like other retail stores that are considered to be zombie companies are being kept alive by consumer debt. If the customer can no longer spend like they did, that means less in store sales, which leads to less online sales which in leads to more store closures which in the end leads to more employee layoffs or employees being re-located to other stores. Do I have that right?
I’ve been with Kroger for 13 years. I’m a dept. leader and union shop steward. I love what I do and I’m grateful for it every day. Nobody is “killing” my desire to work. Lol Unfortunately, there are too many associates that have a poor sense of work ethic with cookie cutter bad attitudes that make things miserable for themselves, customers, coworkers and Kroger. Sure, there are plenty things that I don’t like and disagree with, but there’s that everywhere you go. Everything’s gone downhill since covid, so mediocrity, or poor performance seems to have become more acceptable.

Wait a minute. Isn't Krogers the same gaggle of unconscionable scumbags who were cheating their employees out of their wages earlier this year??? At last count, they have 4 class action lawsuits against them. These people are despicable!

Kroger made the mistake, they should simply eat the loss and let the employees keep the money. The solution is simple. Acknowledge the error, APOLOGIZE, allow them to keep it with no expectations of repayment, but... don't give them future bonuses to make up for the loss. Kroger earns BILLIONS every year, I don't think this will break them.
I disagree. She had to know her bonus wouldn’t be that much and the honest thing to do would be to talk to the store manager and have him contact payroll or you could skip him and call them yourself. The money wasn’t yours to spend so you need to pay it back.
"somebody needs to hold them accountable they hold us accountable." What a hero. My aunt quit after 40 years because it was 3am mornings and a rough life schedule.
As a former Kroger employee, this isn't surprising as they took our bonus pay away after literally a month at the height of the pandemic. They not only stopped the bonus pay but they garnished everyone's pay checks to get it back.Kroger treats their employees like crap, creates hostile work environments where they pit every co worker against each other and the union is literally non existent as they don't do nothing for their members.Theu also will cut hours if you file grievances against management or favorite employees.
That is crazy, especially since during that time, Kroger employees were "essential front line emplo9yees", chosen to come to work each day so the rest of us could buy 10 packs of toilet paper. I wish the people would boycott companies like THIS, that mistreat their employees!! I've also noticed that EVERY time i go into Kroger, the price has been raised. I understand inflation, just like I understood when gas prices were high, but at some point, I feel like their price gouging and keeping higher profits.
Try getting fired on medical leave I won having proof but they tried to lie on me even forged documents thankfully I had proof a certified letter firing me by mail.

Not many to choose from anymore since Walmart shut down most others. Now Kroger is buying out another chain so ...All corporation suck and so does the government for letting this all happen.
Have been retired from Kroger for a few years now. When I first started it was a great company to work for. They cared about their employees as much as their customers. Worked for 15 years. Last couple of years things started changing. Moral went down. They didn't care about the customers, non the less the employees. You could see it in upper management face. Their hands were tied. Spoke to one asst. manager and they said they were told point blank " do it this way or you had 2 choices, step down or be fired. That was filtered down to all employees. I saw people leave after working 25-30 years or more. I had 2 days off in a row and when I came back all the
Management was replaced. That's when I knew it was time for me to go. Kroger used to be top rated grocery store but before I left HEB was 1st ,Walmart , which they used to make fun of, was 2nd and Kroger was 3rd. All this had NOTHING to do with the pandemic as it started way before that. Think the writing is on the wall
Kroger has never been supportive of their employees. They pushed back on paying their employees extra for being essential workers during the panorama. They'd rather close ALL their stores in an entire state and open new stores in another than give employees money they've earned
Lol poor people are so gullible. You still believe in that made up "essential" word that your overloads made up to make you feel special so you could risk illness for their profit lol. I bet you also think those TikTok nurses dancing over sick people are FrOntLinE HeRoEz lol.
A little more than 10 years ago I was interviewed at Kroger for a Deli/Bakery manager. They offered me $8.25 an hour to run two departments. I thought it was a literal joke. They replied that it wasn't and they may be able to get me $8.50 with my experience. It still stands as one of the oddest interviews I've ever had.
@@captainflannel8558 Yep, July of 2009 is when it went to $7.25. nearly 14 years ago. Everyone of these greedy corporate CEOs would flip out if they was told they would make less money every year for 14 years. Because with inflation, if starting wages never go up, then it looses buying power every year.
While legally they cam request if back if it was an error. They should definitely communicate how the employees are to be compensated for their actual bonus... so an off set refund reduction. OR They can forgive the overpayment as a one time error on their part and take the loss. The only entities that can't do that are governmental or quasi governmental agencies due to how laws are written in each state.
i doubt they'd bankrupt a billion$ company over maybe 100 thousand$ not sure how many ppl it affected but kroger's should just take the loss and fix the issue that started it in the first place imo.
publix went HIGH. now i can't shop there. costco and trader joes are two that didn't, i hear. but the price gouging is sick. (a friend told me even walmart went up. still cheaper than publix tho)
Lol, this is why you're poor, because you're horrible at math and thinking ahead. 1. It'll take more than "a year or two" to recoup a $6,000 overpayment. Their bonuses are probs $200. 2. No guarantee at all that she'll be there for years.
I keep hearing horrible things about Kroger. There was a story about their regular paychecks were late and not enough. I am reconsidering shopping there. The company is so big buy there are other stores to patronize.
God, I really hope that either UFCW or the FTC stops the Kroger/Albertsons merger. Kroger has done this SEVERAL times during the pandemic when their employees are literally struggling just to get out of bed each day and show up. I have zero confidence in Kroger to do the right thing when it comes to handling employees.
Similar situation happened to me, except they didn’t ask for it, they took it from the next check, and didn’t even account for the taxes we had to pay on it ….
I could understand if they were asking her to pay the difference between what she was supposed to get and what they gave her but this is nuts. Scumbags.
They need to treat it like a zelle transaction. What proof do they have that the payments were paid in error if they were in charge of their accounts the entire time?
This happens more than most people know. I worked for Kroger for 25 years. I worked in Nashville TN.,Atlanta GA.,Brentwood TN., and Decherd TN. They have all done this very thing and then wanted the money back. Yes, they will dismiss her but they will be sneaky about it, they will shorten her hours, they will change her shift and have her doing the most nasty jobs ....until she quits! Then they will hound her with dept collectors and court will be last. Not even the Union will help her. It's absolutely disgusting the way they run business. Kroger used to be a great store to work for.
Boomer, next time just return money that you know was given to you in error. Imagine how much easier your life would have been if you had integrity, morals, and weren't a thieving weasel.
There is a federal law that prohibits employers that overpay employees from recouping that overpayment... as long as the employee has not fraudulently applied for the overpayment. Such as filling out a form for payment for example applying for payment of any kind for which the employee did nor qualify... this sounds like it. Might fall into that category... unless the law has changed???
Did you hear that? She's probably going to get fired because they messed up and now they don't want to work with her to make it right, so they're going to go out of their way to make her feel pain and suffering instead and then make it feel even worse in the end.
Lol, and she could avoid all of this if she returned the money she knows was given to her in error. "They're gonna give her a hard time for her innocent and peaceful theft"
@@sneksteppy Did you watch the video? She was supposed to get a bonus of $3,100. They gave her $6,600 on accident, they then asked her to give them $6794 back. Do you see the issue with this? Now I know this country doesn't have the best math skills but this seems like an obvious issue to me. Yeah, she was overpaid, should she have let them know? Probably. It would make more sense if they asked for half of it back instead of $200 more than the amount they gave her in the first place - she was going to get a $3,100 bonus. Kroger screwed her in the end, simple.
Absolutely terrible company. Years ago I had an opportunity to present a sales pitch to an executive management team. The absolutely reprehensible terms they were using to describe customers in certain demographics was extremely disappointing. What was more shocking was the way they casually used these terms in front of visitors and other associates. I don't shop here for that reason (and many others as stated by this video).
Payroll errors are not that uncommon, but the employer generally sucks it up and pays for its error. Apparently not here. I’m surprised there aren’t more internal controls in place. How does Kroger comply with SOX? Is this a symptom of a material weakness? Not good if you’re a publicly held company.
Uhhhh... that would be like 1.4 BILLION CHINESE you have been sending your money to for the past 3 or 4 decades there genius.... among other lower echelon forms of society.....
No she should still get next years bonus too. Kroger is at fault, its not her problem. They just need to bite the bullet and fix it so it cant happen again.
They can’t just replace it with next year’s bonus, there may not even be one. They can correct it but they should be transparent with the calculations.
No, that wouldn't be the right thing to do. Let her keep the actual bonus, yes...but not the extra 3k. There's literally no justification for letting her keep it double just because it was an accident. That's silly.
I recently went to a Kroger owned store (Smith's) in Kinfman, AZ, I needed $20.00 cash back. They friggin charged me 95 cents to receive my own money. They lost me forever. They should have never been able to swallow up so many grocery chains.
Lol "I wanted to use a grocery store as a defacto bank, and they had the audacity to oblige me, but with a nominal fee!! The audacity that they didn't just give it to me for free!!!!" I'm sure Kroger is going to be crying over your cheap @$$ not coming back lol.
I worked for Kroger in Texas. They made us join the union. And they jacked with our checks so much we never knew if we got what they wanted to give us or what we rightly earned. Kroger sucks. I hope she sues.
Literally, how tf do you not know what you are owed? It's literally simple math, Susie. Susie worked 30 hours this week. She makes $8.00/hour. $8.00 x 30 hours = $240. Your lil brain doesn't even need to know how to do basic math. You have a calculator on your phone lol. You really need someone to use a calculator for you otherwise you're completely lost????
Dear Kroger, this is your fault. I am sure besides me, spend a lot of money in your stores. Why make the employee pay back more than you gave? I will not spend another dime in your store until you find a fair solution. Don't fire that employee for speaking up. Do better Kroger!
Yeah, Kroger is the new K Mart, as far as management goes. Same incompetent management. First thing, the managers all give themselves big pay increases, then try to short change the vendors who supply the stores, then cheat the employees. I deliver truck loads to them, the people I work for have trouble getting paid for goods delivered. They now only pay for product when it crosses the check out lane, they can lose a lot of inventory in the mean while. We went through this before with other big chains, lost millions for unpaid product, before the chain declares bankrupcy. HQ the big hardware chain, K Mart, walmart did it to us years back, and are going bad again! We quit selling to H Depot and Lowes, for the same reasons, they don't pay their vendors! Thats how big box stores profit, they shaft everyone, vendors, employees, and their customers. They set up dummy corporate entities that own the real estate so no one can attach the building for recourse. If the store defaults, some one else holds the deeds to the real estate.
Someone (s) in upper management (Payroll/HR) signed off on this "overpayment", or likely were supposed to be supervising the bonus payment distribution, and were negligent. Kroger need to be sucking up the loss, and doing an internal investigation to prevent this from happening again, instead of penalizing their employees. Nonsense like demanding employees repay performance bonuses (even overpays) and the negative public image such actions generate do far far more damage to their brand, than the temporary expense in treating the overpayment as a lesson learned in paying attention to what Payroll/HR is doing.
Kroger the front line employees do the hard work, they get underpaid, managers get a bonus and Kroger wants it back. its time front line employees get a bonus.
Lol, I love how minimum wage workers try to give themselves fancy titles so that they don't sound like they're useless jobs lol. "I'm a frontline employee" lol. If you really think you're underpaid, then threaten to quit if they don't pay you the wage you think you're worth? Why don't you go work for a company that will pay you what you're worth? Is it because you know that the only person that thinks you are worth more than what you're making now is you, other minimum wage workers, and people who will never have to pay you anything? Lol. Funny how that works.
This is a payroll issue and they cannot withdraw money from their employees accounts without permission. They also cannot request more than what was given. The employees would have to willingly give the extra money back or risk being sued. Due to the amount though most companies chalk it up to the game since it would be more expensive to retain a lawyer and go through the court process.
What!?!? Payback?? The money was given as a bonus!! How can any of it be taken back without devaluing employees morale and pockets?! "Our co values you, but not that much.." Close the account and quit. Keep yours and make em go thru the courts. No one is paying the workers for this bs. Meanwhile they have locked workers into debt.
a friend of mine works at Kroger, he's super overqualified for the basic stocker position he works for. At first he had a very easy job as a gas attendant there, and he decided to move to Stocker about 6 years ago. I didn't see him much during the pandemic then I saw him about a year ago for the first time in over 2 years and he looked tired and worn out. It was obvious they were over working him and his pay had capped because they grocers union has become so weak they can't push for better wages as easily, so he's been stuck at $16 or so an hour for the last 5 years (there may or may not have been a pay bump of the max pay). He has a degree in agriculture science and could be making $80k+ a year as a soil manager at a big company up north but he really never got any offers for that sort of work so he stocks shelves and it kills him. He deserves better and even $6000 once a year bonus for good work really is not enough for that sort of work, the idea Kroger would demand that money back is sickening with how hard these people work. It's a terrible look.
Companies routinely take back overpayments. Moreover, Kroger probably sees this as a bonus in a way. Another way to push out employees, such as the manager who spoke out. My impression is it's a bad company to work for. For anyone seeking to move up, there are better employers to work for.
I once worked for a grocery store that did this purposely to "test" employees. They'd put a significant amount more on the employee's check (ie: $300 more than what your normal weekly pay was), and once the checks were handed out, if you cashed or deposited the check, the next time you clocked in they'd take you straight to the manager's office and fire you. No amount of "I assumed it was a bonus" would save your job (and yes, when being interviewed you'd be regaled with lots of talk about how the company regularly gave out bonuses, so assuming it was a bonus really wasn't out of the question). If you left the store and came back some time later (or the next day) to ask about the discrepancy, you'd still get a write-up, because they wanted you to open the check immediately upon receiving it right there in the store, and report anything unusual on the spot. (This was in the day of paper checks, direct deposit didn't exist yet.)
I've been in this situation before with a big company. I forgot to clock out and got 32 overtime hrs. Happened a few times, they just let me keep it. Though this was sorta quasi sales and marketing for about 18$/hr-base+commish type job. The manager was pretty lazy about reviewing our hours and performance was high so I guess no one really cared. Also happened to me with a small little company where I told them about the error right away and they let me keep it as a bonus. Kinda crazy Kroger not only wants to take away their initial bonus which they owed the employee, the overpayment, and additional money on top of that. Must be stressful and realistically things like this lead to workplace harassment. It's an incredibly tiny amount considering the size of the company and the risk is lower morale and a PR nightmare as a cost. Sometimes you just write off a loss and keep moving.
I got a raise at a previous employer that was more than it should have been. I notified my supervisor immediately, but they kept telling me that it was correct. I had to keep pressing them about it. I was not about to have to pay for it in the future lol. I finally had a meeting with HR and she confirmed that I was right. She left me keep it since I kept trying to bring it to their attention.
This isn't the first time krogers stole from employees. Hell when I work for them when I was 16. They stole 800 bucks from my checks without my permission. Claimed it was for the union. Well number one union handbook says part time employee are not part of the union so we don't have to pay union due. But Krogers not the union wanted the money. . . . Like wtf? Ummmm does krogers not realize I know they're stealing from me? Oh well. Justified everything I did to them later on. Hope they enjoyed their broken seafood freezer. Fish hiding everywhere. And broken down stair toilet. Because nope. Not only am I not wasting my time suing them. I'm making sure I get my what is due back to me in one form or another by 5 times. Good times. Sad part is dumbass still haven't found out who did what. Because other employees destroyed other things. Lmao shitty company
Yeah and the best part. Since I was 16. They paid me 3 bucks less an hour than minimum wage. So I made fucking 5.75 an hour. . . And oh boy after my first year they gave me a nickel raise and for over 3 month I had to hear from management and the front end desk how grateful I should be. I ended up snapping on all of them and told them how the real world works. They can't just treat highschoolers like they're moron. Showed them who has real responsibility. Never delt with that garbage again. Because they knew if they spoke one more word I would use my brother lawery to buy each and everyone of their home and have them destroyed in front of them. Because to me it sounded like the morons didn't listen during my interview. I help take care of an autistic childern at the age of 16. I'm not autistic. Lmao but they thought the latter. Tried using it against me. It's buds. Buds. I have a lawery only corporate can afford. . . You wanna sue?
I don't get it. She was expecting a bonus of $3,134, Kroger says they mistakenly gave her $6,653 but now wants back $6,794. That's a NEGATIVE bonus of $141. If she gave crappy service and stale baked goods to customers all year so she would never get this "bonus" she would have been better off. Anyway, Kroger should let their employees keep the money. The company can afford it and their employees aren't exactly earning Wall Street bankers' salaries.
I worked for 12 weeks/3 months without a paycheck despite my bills still rolling in. All because the 'My Time' didn't work right. It tooke about 15 total weeks to finally get caught up. I was never made whole for the out of pocket expenses I had while I waited to get paid. I was never made whole for any interest I may have earned. My bonus, also was wrong but why fight it? They have excuses and no solutions
It’s too bad there isn’t a set number formula for the bonus. I had a similar job with a competitor. We knew what our bonus was, even before we submitted out P&L sheet. It was based on profit. There was a mistake one time where I was overpaid. I notified my boss, and it was rectified next paycheck. It seems like their bonus system is so complicated even the software can’t figure it out.
Kroger... that place where Management forces Employees to join the Union or be fired. Kind of seems like a conflict of interest, especially since there is a notable wage gap from location to location which cannot be justified via math. I've had the conversation with their Stewart's, heard loads of BS, once verifiable data was put on the table, their statement was, "this conversation is over". We sht on our employees with intent as a standard, but we can work something out so you can pay for our mistake.
A company that I used to work for accidentally put someone else's bonus into my account. I reported it the next day and showed them printouts of my bank records. First, I was told it was not a mistake, then I was required to sign a form authorizing a payday advance for the amount of their mistake. The "payday advance" came with a formal HR write up that requesting a payday advance was a red flag that I am financially irresponsible and a security risk. Another payday advance would be cause for termination. I was livid. In all my working days I had never needed a payday advance and this was not something I requested.
I would Hope the UNION would step in and help. I Personally haven't and Will Not Patronize Any KROGER Owned Businesses in oover 5years, and I live within 4miles of a Kroger owened store . Yet I drive across town and shop a local employee owned store where I get the same brand products at a lower price. I would pay more elsewhere or do without entirely before spending $1 with Kroger. Thanks for letting me Rant 😄
Sadly the union won't do anything about it as they will either side with Kroger, not file the grievances or take it management which will cause even more trouble for the employees
I worked in HR for a number of years and the employees don't have to give money back in Many states. Where they do have to give it back they can pick the amount that will come out of their check and the company can't do anything about it. Since Kroger said they were getting a bonus it is on Kroger. This lady more than likely does not have to pay this back.
Ironically Kroger gave them am insensitive for making the company look good and then Kroger turned around and made themselves look just down right awful!
I was part of the loss prevention team and was severely injured by a shoplifter. While I was going through several surgeries, I was able to work from the office. I had another surgery on a Thursday and Kroger fired me on Monday. During my medical leave
If Kroger accidentally overpaid, then of course the employee must return the money. What if they had accidentally paid her $6,000,000 instead of $6,000? Why they are asking her to repay more than she got is a different issue.
Trying to understand. The lady knew she was going to get a specific bonus, saw that they deposited more money than they should have, spent it, then is mad that the store wants the overpayment back? What am I missing?
Like they can't just eat that mistake and let the employees keep the extra money. As a former Kroger employee and department manager, I'm well aware of the bonuses store managers used to make (my old boyfriend was a store manager). I'm guessing they still do. These bonuses that she's talking about are nothing compared to what they shell out for the top dogs.
I would absolutely not give any money back or agree to do so in any way. Sounds like they paid these people a hefty bonus that they were already under paying the same people. You fucked up Kroger, not your employees. Enjoy getting sued!
And they know alot of folks live paycheck to paycheck. They just wanted to impose a hardship on someone they knew would struggle to repay it. This lady might be a loudmouth & a snowbunny. Probably undesirable attributes for a manager in THEIR store. So they probably can her over this bs. Basically they can accuse her of fraud for not repaying the erroneous amount! And they figure shes got nothing left for a retainer fee to fight them.
Not sure why she was asked to pay more than the total bonus amount she received. They want any interest she earned on that money in the bank too? Or were they planning to return the extra amount as a "goodwill payment" - essentially giving her back her own money disguised as largesse?
It never said she would be getting specify the amount on the first page, it said your individual payment may be different. but they have made a huge mistake.
Kroger had record profits of 450 million through the pandemic and this is exactly what you can expect from an unregulated capitalist corporation. She sure said it right.. "Someone needs to hold them accountable"
With the additional administrative man hours put into this plus the time the employees spend dealing with this, couldn't Kroger work a deal where the employees keep the overpayment or subtract the overpayment from next year's bonus? Problem solved now pay me a bonus.
Amen young lady!!! Go after them and I'm sure your associates appreciate you standing up!!! Hey, if you get fired then somebody ought to set you up a GoFundMe page. Right on girlfriend!!!✌️❤️🙏
We used to shop Kroger for virtually everything in the way of groceries. Then they began doing hurtful things to their loyal customer base...and we don't buy groceries from there any longer. And since that choice about 3 years ago...they have gone from hurtful to evil.
A friend worked at a store that was bought by Kroger's they used to give him $1500 bonus every year and Kroger's gave him the five dollar gift card when they purchased the stores
“I called my store manager, told him they put too much money in my account. He said they already knew. HR had sent the email out that morning. @oldmancigars1869 I would agree, but it seems like they're not trying to "collect the overpayment", they're trying to collect the full amount back, plus interest and/or fees incurred.
The employees do bear some responsibility as though. How many spoke up and said "You paid us too much" when it happened? Kroger is going down hill. As an employee the company truly does not care about their employees. Corporate America is killing people’s desire to work.
Walmart is doing the same
Kroger, much like other retail stores that are considered to be zombie companies are being kept alive by consumer debt. If the customer can no longer spend like they did, that means less in store sales, which leads to less online sales which in leads to more store closures which in the end leads to more employee layoffs or employees being re-located to other stores.

All employees deserve a bonus.
The interviewee Otis so right👍🏿😁stay up for what you believe in girl👏
Kroger... that place where Management forces Employees to join the Union or be fired. Kind of seems like a conflict of interest, especially since there is a notable wage gap from location to location which cannot be justified via math. I've had the conversation with their Stewart's, heard loads of BS, once verifiable data was put on the table, their statement was, "this conversation is over". We sht on our employees with intent as a standard, but we can work something out so you can pay for our mistake.
they are protecting you by making you join the union.
I couldn't work for them! Crooks!
Not all Crooks are bad!😇
@@coochiecrook7120 No disrespect to you.
@@coochiecrook7120 oh there's good crooks now? Lmfao
Corporations dont care about you. Period!
it's like taking a tip back from your waitress
The state of that parking lot should be an indicator of the quality of those in charge
If Kroger accidentally overpaid, then of course the employee must return the money. What if they had accidentally paid her $6,000,000 instead of $6,000? Why they are asking her to repay more than she got is a different issue.
Interest??
no, the employee can keep the money. executives make enough.
@@SamSitar Clearly, you have never run a business. Better stick with a union job.😅
Trying to understand. The lady knew she was going to get a specific bonus, saw that they deposited more money than they should have, spent it, then is mad that the store wants the overpayment back? What am I missing?
they should not have to pay a dime back. this needs to stop
she shouldnt pay anything back, and if she gets fired for it, sue them for 500k for wrongful termination.
Like they can't just eat that mistake and let the employees keep the extra money. As a former Kroger employee and department manager, I'm well aware of the bonuses store managers used to make (my old boyfriend was a store manager). I'm guessing they still do. These bonuses that she's talking about are nothing compared to what they shell out for the top dogs.
reporting clawbacks to local police is a good place to start.
I would absolutely not give any money back or agree to do so in any way. Sounds like they paid these people a hefty bonus that they were already under paying the same people. You fucked up Kroger, not your employees. Enjoy getting sued!
It has held up in court many times, that mistaken payments have to be repayed...she knew she was overpaid.
Kroger is undermining the employees’ morale by demanding that they give back the bonus money that was overpaid to them.
How much is Kroger worth?? They have the nerve to ask for it back. I bet the CEOs CFOs President got their millions. 🤬🤬🤬
Looks like they need that money to repave the parking lot😀
My thoughts exactly😄
I’ve never heard any Kroger employee that anything good to say about the company and upper management! NEVER!
Do they have idiots running all these big companies?
most have no clue
Not sure why she was asked to pay more than the total bonus amount she received. They want any interest she earned on that money in the bank too? Or were they planning to return the extra amount as a "goodwill payment" - essentially giving her back her own money disguised as largesse?
Corporate Greed is Real...
Imagine having to pay YOUR EMPLOYER. What a world. I would quit.
She's right.
Yeah, like section 8 housing and SNAP benefits is the answer to all our problems... what a dumb arse...
It has nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with management.
Yes! Bring on the socialism or even better-communism! I want to own nothing and be happy :)
Actually more like 2 billion dollar profit in 2020, compared to 1 billion in 2019.
@@Christy.1 Well then quit yer bitching, pack your bags, buy a boat ticket and enjoy a slow float to Russia... Thank you....
I told them I wasn’t HANDING over my PAYCHECK that I wasn’t SIGNING a NDA because why do I need to SIGN ANYTHING and I was TERMINATED!!!
Kroger food to hi anyway
Why would she spend the money knowing it was an over payment? She should have asked before she spent a dime.
As a former Kroger employee (2004-10)...*sigh*...I guess somethings never change.
How is that fair to make them pay back more than what you gave them? That’s crazy
We used to shop Kroger for virtually everything in the way of groceries. Then they began doing hurtful things to their loyal customer base...and we don't buy groceries from there any longer. And since that choice about 3 years ago...they have gone from hurtful to evil.
"I worked hard for that money"
Ah yes, saying "hi" to people and handing them a croissant is such hard work lol.
A friend worked at a store that was bought by Kroger's they used to give him $1500 bonus every year and Kroger's gave him the five dollar gift card when they purchased the stores
