I went to San Francisco couple of years ago, so let down nastiest place I’ve ever been.
If this was Sim City you would see San Francisco buildings rapidly turning dark.
We had planned a big 3 week California trip pre Covid and were really excited to go. Covid happened and we postponed it aiming for Summer 2023. We had dreamed of seeing the Golden Gate bridge, Hollywood, Venice Beach and all the other sights that the State is famous for. We have now given up all hope of coming anytime soon. I am literally the biggest fan of the US and feel quite let down. The reason we aren't coming is, it just isn't safe and if we feel like that so will other tourists.
Where are you visiting from? California is only one small slice of the US. The rest of the country, especially the Midwest, is wonderful, if you know where to go.
@@swisschalet1658 The UK. We’re going to New York again now.
You GET what you VOTE for.
San Francisco needs a complete city cleanse, City has gone to the gutter in every aspect
Defund Politician’s and Government.
Elections have consequences and Democrats are weak on crime so enjoy what you voted for SF.
SF is a new Detroit
Is he able to get away with this? They have gained a lot from the years of overpriced rates.
so companies just take huge loans and when they no longer can't pay the loan or continue they whill just declare bankruptcy and they will get away with it?
Economic recovery and revitalization possibilities seems like a pipedream with MAJOR obstacles. But that is just stating the obvious. SF is a dying city. Very obviously.
It's what happens when you gentrify your way into a zombie apocalypse...
… and what’s up with the price of hotel rooms ? Why some hotels thinks their rooms should have a price point in and around $300 a night is mind boggling.
Sad. San Francisco used to be such an awesome city....
Convert it to housing!
Sad, sad, sad. (I agree with others writing here, that the entire City governance machine needs to be replaced, but like the frog who doesn't realize the pot he's sitting in is slowly getting warmer, I'm not sure they understand what is going on.)
I wonder--and I'm no expert in the world of large financial issues, but doesn't this affect how the lenders on those two large loans view the City? Let's say those loans tally $1B...that's a large black eye on the financial 'worthiness' of a city. But others likely know more about this.
We Back these hotels...DONT PAY AND LET IT GO
The power of corporate America is amazingly screwing this world & has been for a long time.
Turn it into affordable housing. Rent is still too damn high.
House the homeless and make SF a haven for all the homeless in the United States. Once that is done hand the land back to Mexico.
I loved going to San Francisco and staying at Parc 55 to visit with our daughter who once lived in the city. During the insane Covid lockdown she moved to Texas. Way after other cities around the country had gotten back to normal. We met in San Francisco at the hotel. What a miserable stay that was. All amenities in the hotel including restaurant and bar were closed (due to Covid restrictions ( except on weekends???😳) and it felt too unsafe and unhealthy to leave the hotel. San Francisco needs to fire their leaders and the state of California needs to start voting RED !!!!
Parc 55 has also just stopped loan payments on the hotel to lenders. It's in the news. Google it.
Liberalism is the worst
Keep voting the same people in office, don’t expect different results!
All the brainless 26% of Americans live in San Francisco that’s never happening they go for emotions over logic
The policies your daughter likely voted for are what turned SF into a hellscape. Californian's moving to free states (mine included) is like a plague of locust looking for new crops, since it's regressive Democrat policies that destroy, not the "Bad dirt" of whatever state they're in.
Next on SF's agenda is a reparations tax for all the non-qualifiers. That will bring the tourists and jobs back!
When I lived in San Francisco I could tell it used to be a great city and every year I stayed it just got worse and worse and more expensive and I left and never looked back
