Just recently bought one and I'm hoping to get at least 4 summers out of mine. Will definitely look into the covers for the rails and I like your idea with the umbrella to cover up your pump system. Putting mine up this week. Thanks for the video!!
Good luck! Took mine down this year as it developed a small leak somewhere on the bottom and my kids quit wanting to go in. I think I’m done with pools for now.
I just put one of these up for the first time this year. Great to see yours held up so well. Great video, new SUBSCRIBER here.
Good luck and enjoy!!
Buying one soon! Looks good
Great timing! I’m setting mine up in a couple months and really wanted details of what you accomplished and I got that in this video and the previous one, thanks! Ohio Winters are brutal.
Beautiful here in Southern California. It can start getting hot in April. I’ll be ready. Good Luck!
@@cooldadstuff2988 If only we had SoCal weather here :) I’m wondering if I have to tear mine down every Winter? I bought a used pool and haven’t set it up yet.
@@chrisstiffler2185 I don’t take mine down, but it doesn’t freeze or snow here.
What chlorine and shock are you using? My first one faded the color after 2 seasons and looking at a coleman
So I got the exact same pool and pump as you. Based on your awesome review and information. I added 40 lb of salt to it right after I set it up yesterday. How long do you run the chlorinator each day?
What's the vacuum hooked up to?
What do u shock with and how much u use?? Ty
We're finally looking to get one, after an Intex EZ set years ago. I think you've got the 3 most important things that it takes to keep one up. The pool, the right pump, and a automatic pool cleaner for the floor. Without the sand pump and cleaner you're fighting a losing battle. I spent more time and money 3 years on chemicals from Leslies, and trying to keep it clean, it was green than it was clean. Thank you for the review!
I just got my first Coleman pool (18x48) after having multiple Intex pools over the past 15+ years. The last one I had actually lasted 4 CT summers (while keeping it up through winters) which is a record. I did have salt water/sand filter for it which finally 'died' last year. And the skimmer is definitely a lifesaver! Your set up and follow up videos have been so informative. I'm excited to get started fresh this year and make the pool area prettier and protect the pool even better going forward. I see the white ladder in this video. What brand is it and where did you purchase it? Looks incredibly sturdy vs the ones that come with ALL the pools. One other question: How long do you run your filter on average and what time of day/night? Thanks again for sharing your information and experience. - Dianne 😊
Yes, the ladders that come with them are terrible! Here’s mine. Really sturdy, especially when bolted to the pool frame.

This time of year, I run the pump for 5 hours. In the Summertime I run it for 7-8. I have it start around 9:00 AM.
I just picked one up as a trial with the hopes of some kind of longevity. What did you use for rail covers to prevent rust?
I talk about it in one of my videos. Starts around minute 9.
ruclips.net/video/0LZPKEo2Zd4/видео.html
What material did you use to cover up the top portion of your frame?
Extra pieces of tarp that I made a pattern out of. I talk about them in my second pool video.
How did you make your top railing covers? What are they made of?
I talk about them in my second pool video. Made out of tarp material.
What automatic pool cleaner do you have? Did you keep the original pump? If not what brand do you recommend!

I have the 16” pump, but you could get away with the 12 or 14
What did you cover the rails with? I see the clips? Did you cut a tarp?
Vacuum brand?
Check out my second pool video about the covers. Also another video on the vacuum, but I prefer the creepy crawler over the hand vac.
OMG... Can you tell me and all of Amazon how to assemble that ladder??? It's the Vinyl Works one, right??
What filter did you switch to? How can you tell which are compatible with the pool?

Where did you get your pool ladder from? I need one of those. I have had my Ultra Frame Intex for 3years now, and that ladder is retirement ready 🤣
So we got a used pool but It has like red brown tint to it that I can't clean off. Any recommendations on how to clean it?
The liner is stained on the inside? Is the pool filled and chlorinated? Might help
How do you prepare the sand pump after already being used for a season
I’ve used the same pump/sand for three years and haven’t done anything special but backwashing several times the first week after start up. Shock is going to kill any algae of concern.
Time for a 4th season update lol
Also buy a vinyl guard - it moisturizes and prevent up damage it’ll last waaaay longer
I took it down over Winter and sold everything.
Do you have any suggestions on cleaning the windows mine have changed colors?
If in the outside, I wonder if one of those car headlight cleaning kits might work.
Getting ready to install a brand new Coleman 18x48 and by far you have helped me out A lot! Thank you for the great videos. I'm very pleased to see you have gotten 3 years out of it! I am wondering what improvements if any they have made from 2020 till today 2022. Again thank you! I paid $488.00 for ours.
Did you see all of my pool videos? Nothing really beyond that.
@@cooldadstuff2988 yeah I watched them all. Lots of great info! I am currently, as I type this leveling out the area In our yard where ours will be. Then I’m headed for some pavers at the depot.
@@digitalldreamer it’s a chore, but the most critical phase is as you’re filling it, stay on it checking the vertical level in each leg constantly and adjust the leg/pavers as needed. As it fills, they move and once it gets past a certain point, you need King Kong to move them. Takes patience, but worth it.
The pavers on mine sit maybe 1/2” off the pool bottom and do not scrape. The edge of the legs are on the edge of the pavers. I did not bury the pavers, which seemed like a lot of extra work I wasn’t feeling up to.
@@cooldadstuff2988 yeah I like what you did with pavers doing the same thing
Do you leave your cool up for the winter or do you take it down and put everything away?
I leave it up all year as it doesn’t get that cold where I’m at.
Question is it true you have to take this type of pool down every year or can ya empty it below the skimmer and leave water in it during the winter?
Doesn’t freeze where we live, so I just left it up year round, completely filled.
I'm on my 4th season I tear everything down at the end of the year only take about hour to setup and start filling with water
Do these pools need to be install with water bonding kits?
@@21isAlliNeed no
do you think that the same filter only using 2100gph will also do for this pool?
Without the higher flow rate, you probably won’t be able to run an automatic vacuum. The one I have is 2450gph and it’s minimal for the vacuum. Aside from the pump, I highly suggest a sand filter, as the cartridge filter/pump combos that it comes with is insufficient all around.
@@cooldadstuff2988 thank you!!!
Is the 48" measured to the top of the rail or water depth?
I believe it was 48” at the rail, but no longer have the pool.
What did you put underneath the pool?
Check out my first and second videos
That is a hell of an angle on that fence
And It’s a hell of a long way down when you slip. Ask me how I know 😂
Thats what happens when they throw up houses anywhere. All house no yards. Can hear ya neighbors fart.
Has the pool liner faded? We have another pool brand and liner totally fade
Yes, but you can still see the checkerboard on the bottom. Definitely not as dark as it was.
Nice video... your setup is very nice... wanted to know ifbyou were worried boit animal using claws and or bitting into pool? Thats my main only concern.
Never had any issues with it. I’d be more concerned about a kid puncturing it than an animal.

@@cooldadstuff2988 thanks
Did you keep the same water in for 3years ? Thanks for the video looking to get one soon.
I have never drained the pool. It is constantly evaporating and getting replenished. Really no need.
How do you shock it?😊
Looks great. I have a steel sided oool with liner. Do you let dogs swim in it? I have a German Shepherd and was wondering how it would hold up. She does kick off the side at times
@@ricksmith1574 no dogs, the material is surprisingly thin for how much pressure it has to withstand. Big dogs clawing on it might be bad news.
@@cooldadstuff2988 Thanks for the input. That was my fear.
Did you put the tarp under the sand or on top of the sand that’s under your pool?
It’s on top of the sand.
@@cooldadstuff2988 Thanks. That’s what I figured. We love how your pool turned out. We’re in the middle of our pool project right now. Our sand delivered today. We bought a Bestway power steel deluxe 20’ by 48” above ground pool.

Where did u get the blocks for under the legs?
Lowe’s or Home Depot. They are cheap and do the job.

do they come close to the liner that’s what i’m worried about! 😢
